I am deeply disappointed with Prestige Student, Straits Manor. The security staff physically attacked me while I was trying to collect a parcel, leaving me bleeding. Despite reporting the incident, the management has shown no concern for tenant safety or well-being. This place is unsafe and their disregard for tenants' safety is alarming. Avoid at all costs. I've lived here for 2.5 years and the management team has consistently ignored tenant concerns. Despite emailing and speaking to them multiple times, they disregard serious issues, even with photo evidence. The management showed no concern. They have repeatedly discouraged me from getting parcels except at certain times. This place is unsafe and unresponsive to tenant needs. Avoid living here.

Absolutely lovely place to stay, my flatmates have turned into some if my best friends, the receptionists downstairs are sweet as, I sit and have tea with them sometimes if im bored. Not bored often though as we have a lovely clean gym and cinema room and we’re a 15 minute walk from the main pubs and clubs and 20 minute walk from the centre of the university of Sheffield campus.

Ideally located in the heart of Sheffield City Centre. All amenities are just on the door step within just a few steps away. A great value for money as we are not just paying for our rooms and bills included in our rent but for the 24-hour staffing in house. Speaking of the staff, they are polite and welcoming. They will bend over backwards to help everyone in house and always have a smile on their faces.. The social spaces and events are always really good, the staff go all out at making the student experience amazing, they always have loads of different events happening in house. The internet is really good at Straits Manor, however after you have connected 5 devices you will need to pay for an upgrade to allow for more devices. All in all, I would highly recommend Straits Manor to any and all students attending either Sheffield Hallam or University of Sheffield.
I really liked Straits Monor and the team working at the flat. When I first moved in here it was relatively new, I bought some deliveries two days before I moved in and I was prepared to go to reception to pick up many, many deliveries, but to my surprise the staff thoughtfully put them in my room, which I really appreciated. The flat is in a great location, close to the supermarket and my academic building. The transport is also very convenient, there is a bus stop right downstairs. The flat hosts monthly events for us to attend and we can meet new people. Most importantly, the flat has a good security system, so you don't have to worry too much about safety when you live here. Every time I pass by the front desk of the flat, the team members greet me with a smile, which makes me feel very warm. Also, I can see the blue sky and white clouds outside my window every day through the floor-to-ceiling windows and I can see the beautiful scenery, which is really healing. I love here!!!

The best student accomodation I have ever lived in. The place is really clean the staff is very friendly and the maintenance team responds rapidly to whatever the problem is. As a southeast Asian didn't find many people from my country there so the social experience isn't very great for me but otherwise this place is one of the best places to stay if ur in Sheffield.

Last year before coming to sheffield for my studies, I was pretty dreaded regarding my stay here. I remember stumbling across student crowd website to read reviews regarding various properties in Sheffield to shortlist a few of them for my consideration. Straits Manor was ranked the highest out of all, I was a bit skeptical about the all time positive reviews the place had received at first, but after spending a whole year in a studio flat at their accomodation cleared all my worries in the very first few days of my stay. The accomodation deserves every bit of appreciation that they have gotten so far. The rooms are pricey as the accomodation is right in the city centre on West Street, which is almost a social hub as well it is closer to almost all grocery stores and supermarkets nearby. The rooms are clean, spacious enough and loaded with everything one may need during their stay here. Maintanence issues are all addressed on time. Overall it was a great experience.
I greatly appreciate how helpful, friendly and flexible the staff at Straits Manor are. The location is unbeatable - near the University of Sheffield and a stone's throw away from the city centre, which means peripheral locations like Meadowhall and the Northern General Hospital are also easily accessible. Common areas are really clean. Air-conditioning in the room is very useful on a hot summer's day. Highly recommend!

One of the main reasons I enjoy studying in Sheffield is 'living in Straits Manor'. I live in a studio and it's just as lovely as I envisioned. It's location is the most convenient, close to most university buildings and the city center. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and help us socialize with other students in the accommodation by organizing occasional events. Overall, a great experience!!!

If I was studying another year, I’d stay here again at Straits Manor. My room is nice, but I would have preferred a room facing the front. However, I booked late.

A very nice accommodation which is close to tram station. It’s convenient to go to the city center and many nice bars on west street. The room is quiet nice and hope I could stay for another year here with all the friends I met here.

This apartment is in a very good location, about 7-15 minutes' walk from the main teaching building, and only 5 minutes' walk from the city, making life very convenient. My room was on the street side and quiet most of the time, the room facilities were excellent and the reception staff downstairs were very friendly. Overall the experience of living here is great!

Great, friendly, welcoming staff, who hold various events, including a pumpkin carving competition that I won. Great common room and students living here are nice. There are not so many pot heads like my previous accommodation. The room is nice, although doesn't get much sun. Wish there was more draws, you only get one, lots of shelves, but it can be an eyesore with all your textbooks and work in your face. Cinema room is decent, should come with instructions though.
I’m a Spanish Erasmus Student doing the first semester at Sheffield Hallam University. It was my first experience in student accommodation and I’m very happy. There are many activities that the residence organizes, and it is well-equipped with shared areas and the team is very friendly. My room is a classic studio which is ideal for me and I’ve enough space if I have a friend or family visiting me.

As a short stay accommodation over summer, Straits Manor was in a perfect location for me to be able to walk to the University of Sheffield buildings, as well as to explore the area, with brilliant transport links via tram just outside the front entrance and the city centre within walking distance. Knowing that there was security overnight was very reassuring too, and really helped to make Straits Manor feel like a safe environment to call home in a busy part of the city. The staff were all friendly and helpful and even regularly put out sweets and treats for people to pick up at reception! My room itself was incredible, I had all of the facilities I needed to be self sufficient and comfortable for my stay. Thank you so much to everyone at Straits Manor for making my time in Sheffield brilliant!

Good front desk service attitude, there are people on duty on weekends and can be contacted anytime. The apartment is located in the heart of the city center, on West Street, very close to the school and library, only ten minutes' walk, and not far from various colleges. There is a City hall tram station at the door, and there are three lines, you can go to Meadowhall, school and so on. There are Tesco Metro, M&S, and Boots, life can be said to be very convenient.

Straits Manor is located in city central, where is very convenient for us, and it closes to supermarkets, like tesco and MS, and library. Then, the reception is so friendly! If equipment has some technical problems they will check them in a timely manner. Besides, the apartment has always been very clean, my room is pretty and there are gym and a lot of entertainment equipment. All in all, I enjoy living here!

The accommodation is really nice and modern with amazing views. I’ve lived here for 2yrs and the staff have always been friendly, helpful and organise lots of fun activities and competitions - sometimes we get free Krispy kremes or breakfast snacks etc. You won’t regret living here!

I think this student house is one of the most convenient flats in Sheffield. It takes less than a few minutes to walk to a variety of supermarkets with different functions. In particular, it takes five minutes to walk to Sheffield city centre, and it only takes ten minutes to walk to the school library. All rooms are fully equipped, including gym, laundry room, study room, cinema and so on. In a word, everything here provides us students with great convenience.

I think the apartment is very good. First of all, the location is very good. It is very convenient to go to the grocery shopping library to study. At the same time, the decoration style is also very good, and there are many good service staff. It is more convenient to go out, the exit is the city hall. Every time you can go shopping far away in Sheffield. The price is very cheap, because I ordered the studio, which has 25 square meters of space, and there are discounts for all-year reservations. In the morning, the front desk will also provide a variety of snacks and beverages to drink. Great!

I have lived here for 2 years - just signed on for a 3rd! Location is great, very close to both unis and the tram is also very close by which makes it easy to get around other areas of the city and to the train station, Meadowhall etc. Building is generally very well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful and answer queries quickly. The facilities like the gym and cinema room are also really nice. I have found the building is quite quiet even though it’s in a busy area which is great if you’re looking to study from your room. My studio is quite spacious and everything in it is very new.

A lovely accommodation!!! I have lived in here for a year since it opened and I continued my contract for another 1 year. The location is really good, within 5 mins walk to Tesco and M&S. And only 1 mins walk to John Lewis! You can get almost everything you want without too much walking. The tram stop and bus stop are just opposite the main entrance. One thing most appeals to me is that the staffs here are really nice. I love here!

- Studio and classic rooms are a good size very spacious each room provides a great view. - Great location from both Uni’s(SHU and Uni of) - Amazing staff Sophie, Alisha, Bob and Sarah really friendly and always there happy to help in any situation. - All supermarkets and restaurants all less than 0.5miles away (if you can’t cook this is great as free delivery fees on Uber eats ;) ) - Good size gym, cinema room - Special treats (breakfast day, Krispy Kreme day, Cake day, and many other things)

Brilliant property to stay at. Close to both universities, some good social events and great in-house activities - even when coronavirus hit!
