The Place Biography
The Place offers students quick and easy access to local universities as both Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham are a short cycle away. The accommodation has bus links/routes on its doorstep, so residents can get to and from class as well as the city with ease.
The communal lounge, 360 rooftop terrace, and private dining room are great spaces to relax in and make new friends. There is a well-equipped gym onsite, so you can skip a gym membership. To ensure a hassle-free stay, there is a meeting room, study rooms, and Wi-Fi. You can take comfort in knowing you have everything you need, as there is bike storage, a laundry room, contents insurance, and all-inclusive bills.
The Place provides residents with cosy ensuite and studio rooms. Stay in an ensuite room and share a kitchen and living space with friends and flatmates. If you prefer to have a little more privacy, you can choose a studio room where you have everything to yourself.

What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Absolutely amazing accommodation! Couldn’t get any better. Got amazing social and study places, including a sky lounge with outdoor cubicles. Close enough to the city center (about 15-20 minute walk) to have a great social life but in a quite enough area to not be disturbed. Also perfect placement for transport, right next to train station and tram stop as well as all bus stops within a five minute walk. Could not ask for better for an accom!!

Honestly, this accomodation is so affordable especially with other places ridiculous prices. The staff are so lovely and they always do little cute giveaways and they’re so nice just to have a normal chat with. The accomodation is perfect for going into uni and for me to go back home especially since it’s near the train station. My room is honestly massive and I’ve been put up with such good flatmates. The social places are so much fun to go to especially with friends. And the study spaces are exceptional! Every time i’ve had a problem, the staff have helped me to every time

I’m currently in my first year at university and staying at The Place was the best choice that I have made, not only is this accommodation absolutely fantastic but so are all the staff, everyone from staff to the other people staying here are all so friendly and I have made so many amazing friends coming here. It is just down the road from the train station, the tram stops and the bus stops which is really convenient as well. Everyone here made me feel so welcome since I came from quite far and choosing this accommodation has definitely helped my confidence and uni experience. 10/10 Would definitely recommend 😁👍
