If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

The management team at Castle Gate are excellent and are very helpful for any issue you may have or even for just a chat. The flats and studios are spacious and are good value for money with the location being so close to the city centre it is easy to access everything.
Great place to live in with brilliant location, friendly atmosphere as well as staff that do above and beyond. Made me resign for another year.
Friendly staff, well maintained property. Installing an elevator would make it better, as currently we have to carry our luggage through the floors.

In general, it is a nice place for student accommodation! Reasonable price, city centre location for convenient transportation, kind staff, etc. I will recommend other students this place for a living.
Located in a great central location. Close to the train station and shops so convenient for going out. There are no social spaces on site so wasn't easy meeting people from other flats. I stayed on the top floor of the building which didn't have a lift so would walk up the three flights of stairs every day. Would be nice if they had a cleaner for the stairs and hallway and also outside the building. We had people throwing up outside right by the door on a few occasions and no one cleaned it so was disgusting. There is still also a pee stain by the key pad to enter which is very off putting when entering the building
My time spent at Castle Gate Haus was exceptional however, I had a very large quantity of issues that stayed unresolved after reporting it multiple times. Action has only taken place after moving out from my accommodation.
Good location with good facility, service is Ok
The new management team of Debbie and Sarah, along with the maintenance team and cleaning team, have been absolutely brilliant. Loads more is being done with regards to the upkeep of the building, the cleanliness of the property and the social life in the accommodation.
Ever since Debbie has taken over as accommodation manager, the whole accommodation has turned around for the better. Not to mention Sarah in the office is also extremely helpful.
Great place, thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Lots of space and the staff are really supportive and lovely. Would 100% recommend
My son lived here for the last year (Lewis Wilkinson), place is absolutely amazing , nice, clean rooms , very very good condition indeed, lovely place to live , close to notts university, the maintenance team, and ALL staff there are fantastic, cannot do enough for students, nice people that love there too, well respected staff -the staff go above & beyond -o would highly recommend this company without a doubt -well see you again. Thank you again for everything
Acceptable for the 2021 prices, but with the updated pricing for next year, most of the studios arent nice enough rooms to warrant staying. The furniture is falling apart and appliances are old. Drab rooms. But lovely staff. There are just a lot better properties available for the same cost now, and dwell have increased prices by a silly amount. Your room may vary, but my room also wasn't cleaned on move in, and wasn't ready. Was willing to look past a lot of this because the pricing seemed cheap, but now they're hiking it for next year it's no longer a good option.
