York House is ideally located right next to the city centre with shops, bars and restaurants, meaning you have plenty to explore and enjoy when you're not busy with class. You couldn't be closer to campus as Nottingham Trent University is less than a three-minute walk away.
The accommodation is brand new, so you can enjoy being among the first to use the brand-new rooms and facilities. There’s a state-of-the-art gym which is open 24 hrs and free to use. There is also a multimedia room, lounge, games area and plenty more amazing social spaces. For added convenience, there is in-house housekeeping, laundry facilities and site staff 24/7.
All the rooms are stylishly designed and have plenty of natural light. There are three different size ensuite rooms in cluster flats or four types of self-contained studios to choose from. They all come fully furnished with a comfy bed, ample storage space and a study area.

I cannot recommend York House as student accommodation due to serious privacy concerns and poor value for money.A cleaner entered my room without knocking or prior notice while I was sleeping. This invasion of privacy was extremely unsettling and has left me feeling anxious in my own living space. I now worry about sleeping,changing clothes or showering, fearing another unexpected intrusion.The incident with the cleaner indicates a clear lack of proper management and staff training. Students' privacy and personal boundaries should be a top priority, but this doesn't seem to be the case at York House. Also the rooms are very small, especially considering the price. There's insufficient storage space, making it difficult to organize belongings comfortably.

*Mismanagement and Negligence at Student Roost York House, Nottingham* I recently had a deeply frustrating and upsetting experience while moving from 4th floor to 9th floor at Student Roost York House, Nottingham. On the morning of 25th July, cleaners entered my flat on the 4th floor unannounced in my absence while I was in the process of relocating. Despite my clear communication about the move, several of my personal items were irresponsibly discarded in the garbage bin. Among the items thrown away were irreplaceable family photos, an Alexa Pop, an adapter, a portable bidet, an extension box, an expensive puffer jacket, important documents and various other belongings. This incident, resulting from poor management and a glaring lack of communication within the staff, forced me to sift through garbage to retrieve my valuable and sentimental possessions—a distressing and utterly unacceptable experience. An exeptionally clean and cozy student accommadation, i dont want my time here to end! so much to do and the study/ relax spaces are the best. Theres a gym, a cinema room and a communal kitchen. THE BEST.

It's a good place to be and near the campus. You should never be late for classes because of staying far away from campus and save your transport money.

all staff are incredibly helpful and lovely and make the place very homely it is a very lovely accomodation but my internet connection is quite poor, I have to use 4g.

Really good accommodation in a great location. Building is newly renovated, maintenance are punctual if there's any problems and the hosting kitchen and cinema room are great for having friends around and social time.

I lived in York house for almost 2 years, everything is really nice. I do recommend if any students who wanna live in Nottingham. York house Nottingham definitely will be your first option!

Am a current student at York House in Nottingham. The staff are excellent and always able to help when needed. Turned up on the first day and the room was spotless, everything was to top quality. Would class this more as a hotel rather than student accommodation. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay.

Came in been in for nearly a month and induction hob still doesn’t work and three people have now seen it and done nothing. So now there is a whole flat of 7 and we only have 4 cooking rings to make food with.

TLDR of this review is only good if you book with friends and are all rich and you also live on floor 1 and byron is fully booked starting with the pros of living there. - location. genuinely i think this location is even better than the ones above the student union you have great access to the heart of the city, a safe journey back from most local nightclubs and a bust station on your doorstep. very convenient -Pretty decor. -The blinds are great. -i love the water pressure. Cons. -too many people per flat, we had 11 -thin walls, you can literally hear people breathing outside your walls. -we had a broken hob, broken oven and no microwave plates for over 2 months. -tiny rooms, especially for the price -general noise pollution is awful -lift issues a lot, plus always smelled weird -didn’t get to use the communal areas much as they basically always needed booking -insane overpricing for laundry -more expensive than byron but worse
Beautiful accommodation, notoriously the best and most luxurious in nottingham.
In my final year of university I stayed at York House. The location was wonderful, and the facilities were great with wonderful staff, I particularly liked the 24h service at reception. My only big complaint was ridiculous price of the room with how utterly small if was, absolutely not what was advertised. Despite this, I did enjoy my stay here.
Highly recommend York house, it is arguably the nicest accommodation in Nottingham due to its amazing social spaces and location being so central. The accommodation always feels very safe and the effort made by the staff to create social opportunities is perfect as you meet so many new people and make friends within the first night. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

The social spaces are a space of relaxation, and the accommodations is always clean. However, it was advertised that the reception is open 24/7 which is not the case and often staff aren’t around.
The study areas and social spaces are a place of relaxation and a good reflection on how the rest of York house is presented.

All the staff are very nice and hard-working. The facility are all nice and clean and great. The kitchen is very big and nice have everything I need for cooking.

The team at York House are really friendly, always willing to help out where they can. They are really thorough in terms of security, not letting anyone into your room without having a formal piece of writing from the owner giving them permission which makes me feel really safe even when just asking if friends can go into my room. The technician is also really great, always more than happy to help out when there is minor things that need fixing in my room (i.e my shower plug hole is clogged with hair) and makes me feel really comfortable reporting any issues. This was different from another accommodation I stayed in which was very confrontational whenever I had a problem and often blamed me for the issues, which was upsetting and made me uncomfortable to report issues- York House was the complete opposite of this. Their social spaces are also really nice and their parcel system works well, always getting notified when my parcels have arrived and able to go down to pick them up.

York house is an amazing private accommodation where yes it is expensive to most week to week but so worth it with the variety of social spaces and large flats and plenty of time to socialise with other flats within the building.

York house has to be the best accommodation for all Trent uni students. It is located in the center of the city with close proximity to all the necessary facilities. The staff are very caring and helpful, they made my moving in process very easy.

Nice posh student accommodation it’s like a hotel
I booked this accommodation last minute after going through clearing and it was the best decision I made. The location is only a stones throw away from the Victoria shopping centre, multiple gyms, nightclubs and the NTU campus. The bedrooms are modern, with a spacious wardrobe and shower, double bed and noise cancelling windows. The communal areas are always kept clean and the gym, cinema room and seating areas are a great addition. The staff are always friendly, attentive and like to help anywhere they can.

The accommodation is super clean all the time! Always looks brand new but also cosy and welcoming! Big social spaces that me and my friends love to hang out in!!
Great accommodation however wouldn't say worth the price compared to others in the city. It looks great on the outside however I don't think it is run very well - there are always problems: Constant power cuts in multiple rooms in our flat, happening multiple times every day Always at least one hob or oven not working and reception telling us "we'll write it down" Moved into a flat with a broken kitchen window Had to buy a fan for room because its so hot Entrances into the building you can only exit through - have to walk thru whole accom to get to a room that would take 30 secs to get to Half of staff lovely - others seem grumpy Staff think sending out passive-aggressive emails over minor issues There are so many other accommodations which are cheaper and better and if you're going to pay so much for a place to say, look at Vantage or Nova first. Credit is deserved and it is a safe and nice place to stay, however just not worth the price I wouldn't say. Also price tiers are unfair.

If you're considering paying premium prices, you'd expect a premium accommodation. From the outside York House looks like the perfect place to stay - great location, social areas and a 24/7 reception. However - the downstairs social areas are the only places you can sit for more than half an hour without becoming uncomfortable as the flat kitchens are fitted with, admittedly nice-looking, wooden benches which are uncomfortable to sit on. When deciding on a room to stay here, keep in mind that the pricing system for a room at York House is grossly unfair. For an extra £10 a week you can upgrade from bronze to silver, a higher up flat with a nicer view - or at least that's how it was marketed. Instead, you could end up on the 4/5th floor looking into the courtyard whilst people on the second floor have a much nicer view, and air conditioning - which for some reason only half the flats have? Oh and remember that 24/7 reception - good luck finding a time when the shutter is actually open.
make sure you know what you are paying for… all the pictures looked amazing online until i got here an realised my room was facing a brick wall and there is no sunlight in my room whatsoever. seems silly i am paying the same amount as my friends opposite me who have perfect views with natural light coming in and im just living in darkness…

The location is really nice as it in a convenient distance from the city center and all that nottingham had to offer. The management is very sweet and try to assist whenever they can. The accommodation also has a lot of amenities such as the multimedia room, games room and a kitchen that students can book. It is definitely worth the money.

I am so glad I booked with York house for my first year of university. It is is such an amazing location being in the city centre & a 4 minute walk from the Nottingham Trent city campus. Being on Mansfield Road is nice as it’s always busy, really diverse and full of students and various shops. The rooms have been designed so well, they are really modern, clean and comfortable. Most of the staff are really lovely and willing to help when you need it. In addition, the longing areas are a great addition to the accommodation and will be such a nice spot to chill during the summer months.

Although I am not staying next year because of the price, this accommodation has been exceptional it's like living in a hotel. The social areas are amazing and the staff are really helpful, the location is right in the centre and a 5 min walk to my lectures and a 2 min walk to the nearest supermarket located in the victoria centre. If you have the money I would really recommend york house.

I think the highlight for me was really the social spaces; whether you plan to use them for a group get together or even just to sit and have some quiet time reading or doing work, they are amazing, plus they are great for chatting with and meeting new people.
Amazing staff, very friendly and so helpful. The building is in a prime location! Can’t beat it.
I moved in 2 days ago and York House has been amazing so far! the people-both staff and residents are wonderfully warm and helpful and the place is beautiful and cozy!
