Trinity Square was more than just a place to stay during my time at Northumbria University—it was a home away from home. The accommodation provided the ideal balance of comfort, convenience, and community. The location was unbeatable. Being just a short walk from campus and the city center made life so much easier, whether I was rushing to lectures or heading out with friends. The modern, fully-furnished rooms offered all the essentials, and the shared spaces like the kitchen and common areas became places where we could unwind, socialize, and build friendships. What I appreciated most was the supportive and safe environment. With 24/7 security and friendly on-site staff, I always felt secure, and any maintenance issues were quickly addressed. The lively atmosphere made it easy to meet fellow students, and the study spaces were perfect for those quiet, focused moments before exams. The issues I have reported since moving in haven’t been fixed despite them being very serious issues such as a fridge not working or the heating not working. When I moved in the walls were covered in marks and missing loads of paintwork. The overall accommodation is lovely however the issues are taking far too long to resolve for the price I am paying for the accommodation.
Numerous shops and amenities near the accommodation will certainly provide you with everything you need. While the accommodation is 20 to 30 minutes away from Northumbria University, the presence of nearby transportation stations, including buses and metro, offer a variety of choices for transporting around.
Moved in and there were some issues but most sorted out within few days. main issue is location being as it’s across from newcastle city

Terrible staff their complaints procedure is just to forget about it, you need to contact the university to get them to even take the complaint and then then blank you
The worst staff and help were extremely rude and not understanding. If the students are at fault they will do everything in their power to let them know but won't take responsibility for their own shortcomings. I would not recommend.
I would literally give this place 0 stars, honestly the worst accommodation you will ever come across.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Wifi is awful, heating hasn’t worked for months. Nothing gets fixed and you can be sat with something broken for months. Staff only care about fining people and have a complete disregard for student experience. Only saving grace is living above a big tesco but it’s barely worth it.
This is the most legit review you'll read - i lived here from sept 2019 til march 2020. Location is awful, takes you time to get to uni, can get metro but its extra money. If you're lazy like me you don't see the point in going so far there and back for a 1 hour lecture. Being 20+ mins away from uni in first year isnt great, leave it to your 2nd and final years to travel. Rooms arent bad, bathroom is best you can get in student accom, powerful shower. Double bed. Washer in flat is an added bonus but bare in mind - YOU GET THIS DUE TO THE LOCATION. Management are the worst people youll meet in your life. They do nothing, you cant get anything fixed quickly (had a broken dishwasher for 2 months) they fine you for the smallest things. The windows open the tiniest amount as they are on a hinge but dont take them off the hinge - or youre fined. Youll have to deal with the boiling heat. Internet is AWFUL, constant outtages i was on my 4g nearly all the time. good social space tho
Be aware if you move into this property you have to move out twice every year they do not allow you to stay in a room you must move out for two months and then move back in into a different room so if you planned a long university term for years say you will have to move eight times okay ask them yourself
wifi is slow, ethernet is somehow as bad, the flats are constantly way too hot, windows dont open to let air in, all this for a ridiculous high price
I wish I could say the experience has been pleasant... if you like paying £127 a week having bad WiFi and no hot water (no showers, heating or dishwasher, or washer) for nearly a week about 7 times a year then you will enjoy it here. You literally get fined for everything the only good thing about the accommodation is Tesco and a couple of shops the accommodation really isn’t that great some of the staff are really nice some on the other hand really aren’t, the rooms are far too hot and the windows barely open
They'll try and charge you for everything once you leave even though it's their fault for most of the things they find wrong and they no longer give deposits back. It's above a Tesco's and that's literally the only good thing about this place.
My heating has been broken for a month even after telling them several times still nothing has been done to fix it, very disappointing due to the fact I had to buy a heater myself to keep me warm
I stayed at Trinity Square from September 2017 to June 2018. I wish I could say that my stay was pleasant, but as you can see from my rating, that was absolutely not the case. The biggest problem seems to be that no care is taken to place you with flatmates similar to yourself - this creates a litany of problems, as the year progresses, due to the very different cleaning and social standards upheld by those you live with. I was placed with people who enjoyed partying, and had little interest in cleaning their mess. Eventually, I went to the site manager, who could not have been more disinterested. I was absolutely miserable, by the end of it. I paid £126, and for that price, you would expect better hospitality. Only when I mentioned my plans to move out, was any progress made to tackle the problem. As for the flat itself, it was not cleaned to an acceptable standard on move-in day. The flats are spacious and the rooms are cosy. If you want to live here in peace, consider a studio.
Just to let you all know students are not allowed to park in the Tesco car park for free otherwise you will receive a fine! Please don’t make this mistake
Horrendous experience with the management team. They literally don't give a s*** about your problems.
Value for money - as far as accommodations go, I think that this is the best in terms of what you get for your money, every flat includes a washer & dryer which very very little other accommodations do. We also have free access to an on-site gym and study areas. Location - spot on, yeah it’s a little bit far out but the views across the tyne bridge make up for that. It’s a lovely walk into the city centre but if that’s not for you then the metro is 2 mins away. We are situated on top of a 24hr tesco.. what more could you want? Hall management - the staff on day time are much less friendly than the night time. However, the maintenance team always seem to get jobs done ASAP. Common room - amazing, so many places to study or chill with friends. There’s pool tables, ping pong, xbox’s etc. Kitchens are also large enough to chill and talk in. Social experience - taxis are dead cheap into town (its only as social as you make it) WiFi -works fine, if there’s a problem it’s fixed quick

They always have people in and out of the rooms and will maybe give you a warning if you’re lucky. Management isn’t great, and when you complain will try and belittle you. The accommodation itself is nice but it isn’t ran very well.
This is by far the worst residence that I have ever lived in. They have very compact and noisy study rooms, even the closed off rooms are super loud. The worst part about this residence is that they will charge you for every pence they can get when you are leaving the dorms. My entire flat of 5 people was charged 35 pounds each for apparently having a dirty microwave, oven and fridge. My flatmates and I along with family members cleaned our flat common room till it was spotless and was still charged. I highly suggest that no one ever comes to this dorm. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else.
Absolute rubbish of a residence. Charging you ridiculously large fines for minor charges like not cleaning your microwave. Dont live here.
This is an absolutely horrible residence. They will fine you a ridulous fine for the most minute details after you move out. Your flat can be charged over 200 pounds if you didnt clean your microwave. I highly recommend that you not live there.
I've stayed here for 2 years in a row because of how great my experience was, i don't understand some of the reviews because the staff were amazing and probably the friendliest i've met. As for people who say its ages away from town and university its literally a just across the bridge. people are far more likely to leave a review if they've had a bad stay as opposed to a good stay. the price does seem to be going up every year but this is no different to any other accommodation in newcastle. The flats and bedrooms are a lot nicer than most accommodations in newcastle.
Since being at trinity square we have had a great time apart from a few issues. We have had issues since the first week with the securtiy as they will fine you and shut down any gatherings for any reason they can find. They place nurses who complain constantly if their is any noise... even movie nights. Despite trinity being a good place to stay as it is modern and clean but they try to get as much money as they can out of you even though we are paying £126 a week already.
Far overpriced for what you get, but that's my only real complaint. If you ask for your room to be cleaned when you move in they send cleaning staff up promptly (otherwise it doesn't seem to get any attention). Issues with water, heating, and internet have been fixed ASAP. There is no curfew contrary to other reviews, and staff have been nothing but lovely considering the idiot drunken locals that come in screaming every night from the bars. They've also been nice enough to watch me in a similar state when I overindulged! Luckily it's mostly quiet during prime study hours, and situated right next to a rail station and Tesco so the location is pretty ideal. It's not bad, just too much money for what you actually get.
I'm not sure how many of these reviews are for Newcastle and how many are for the similarly named accommodation in Nottingham so maybe take some with a pinch of salt. I've stayed in Trinity Square and New Bridge street as a student and they were both about as good as each other. Negatives: - Room was unclean and had damage when I moved in - It is in Gateshead so a 20min walk or a 5 minute metro ride to Uni - Occasional problems with water and wifi (quickly resolved) Positives: - Maintenance staff were brilliant, never took more than 24hours to resolve a problem, even if that meant buying in a brand new washing machine. - Facilities in and around the halls are fantastic, cinema, metro, Nandos, huge Tesco, as well as common room and football pitches which have weekly events such as quizzes, football tournaments, prize draws for free cinema tickets, etc. - Full deposit was returned without issue - take pictures of any damage the day you move in as proof just incase.
I've made some bad choices in my life, but choosing to live at trinity square in my first year at uni was one of my worst. The staff are unhelpful and treat you like children, as appose to paying tenants. Trinity is one of the most expensive accommodations and when I moved in it was dirty and there was a lot of damage to the flat. (Zero maintenance has been done over the 3 months the flat was empty) Overall If you want a poor social experience and to live a long way away from the city centre, then choose Trinity with its weird mix of people and rude staff. The only benefit being that there is a Tesco underneath the accommodation.

Staying here is horrible. Really unsociable place to live and the staff are useless. Asked 4 times for someone to come fix my radiator in my room and still no one has been to fix it. The fact I'm paying £120 odd pound for a room with no heating is rediculous. Highly don't recommend!
This year I moved in for a second time at Trinity Square and I wish I hadn't. Now in a studio the place was disgusting when I moved in with what looked like sick stains on the toilet, everywhere covered in grime and clearly not cleaned. Any maintenance issues are dealt with slowly and the blame is always put on yourself. Any breakages reported are ignored and undocumented meaning you are asked about them time and time again. This happened with a missing cupboard door where we reported it several times throughout the year and then were almost charged with it upon moving out. Unfortunately this only occurred after I had paid my deposit to return. Overall a terrible place to live, not worth the money.
I moved in just after it was first available. The uni sells you the dream but it's all smoke and mirrors. Aesthetically, my room and flat were great. Nice clean, brand spanking new bathroom and kitchen facilities but all of that got old very quickly. There were supposedly hundreds of students living there but I barely saw anybody at any given time even in my own flat and it's quite a huge accommodation. So, If you enjoy a buzzing social scene don't expect it here. I found the facilities to be excellent however, but I found that the majority of people, myself included, didn't make full use of them. In addition to this, the location is awful. Once you step outside of Trinity Square it's dingy and unappealing. This made me feel like I lived inside of my own student bubble, alternating between my room, Tesco and the gym (when not at uni of course). If this place had been in a different location I think It would be pretty great.
It is the worst accomadation in the whole Nottingham. Rooms unclean, staff unhelpful, and it is unsafe because every contractor could access your room for 'some works' with no notice.

They will literally fine you if you killed a fly on the wall. Absolute robbery; they waited till everyone had moved out then gave out fines with no evidence, knowing full well we could not do anything about it.
Staff treat you like children rather than paying tenants. Was filthy when we moved in. They fine you for everything they can even if it's their fault. Would highly recommend NOT living here.

Terrible, unfriendly halls with a strange mix of people. Management rude, controlling with a mix of failed ex police officers and those lacking basic social intelligence and overall communication skills. Worst experience I have had by far as a student. I can't stress how bad the Addeco management staff are. For student halls the allowance of people and an enforced curfew make it feel like a prison. Ruined my first year at University for a hefty price. Avoid for happiness.
Very bad quality in regard to the walls, they are easily dented and marked which result in a fine. Nothing seems to work, had various problems with intercom, wifi, heating, water and oven. Bitterly disappointed from having high expectations. Quite far from the university but that is not the biggest issue of Trinity Square. The staff are not very friendly, nor are the students. This would be classed as a very quiet student living accommodation. Poor quality of furniture provided. The best thing about this place is probably how powerful the shower is, and in my opinion a powerful shower is not worth the price of this asylum.
Love it here just because it's not 5 star across everywhere does not mean I'd pick another place to live it's location is a bit out but this lowers costs and it's right next to the metro station so it's no issue :) can get in to uni in ten with the metro :)

Everything you need in gateshead town centre with Tesco's, poundland, butchers etc. 2 gyms in the area about a 1 minute walk to both! Only downside is that it's a 20 minute walk to uni, but it's well worth it! The social aspect isn't the best!

These halls can be everything you want them to be, if you make the most of them! The staff put on things to do in the common rooms, there's a small gym, AstroTurf football court, bike shed, small study rooms. We are spoilt with the washer, tumble dryer AND dishwasher too! The accommodation is well kept and modern and I loved living here! I wish I made more of my time here.
Love the place makes me feel really at home- sad to be leaving soon, locations a bit bad but everything that surrounds it makes up for it, the tesco is perfect location, wish there would be more social side in the hub for example pre drinks.
In the few months I've spent living here there's been constant problems with water supply, Internet, doors not working etc feel like I've wasted a lot of money

Great facilities. Diswashser and washer/tumblr per flat. Pretty design and money is good for what we have. Managment too sketchy at times, cleaning is appalling, some commuka areas within block are not vacumed for weeks and I have personally done it myself on a numbe rif occasions as i was fed up of seeing mess everywhere. Ĺocation is great tbh, metro tickets add up and the walk is a good 20mins all if which is windy, hilly and just a bit of a pain, the 1st year shouldnt be. Overall, decent price, and good facilities. Im sure things will inprove next year as TS moves into year 2
It's not the most sociable halls, the security is very strict. The common room space is good but not many people go there. It's very nicely decorated inside
Staff working there are friendly and helpful 24/7. Location is horrible for getting to uni, if you don't feel like making a 30 minute walk then you have to pay for metro passes which just adds to the expenses. The halls has suffered many problems over the year like terrible wifi, broken doors and broken lifts, but these problems always seem to take forever to fix. One last thing, the complex acts as a huge wind tunnel, meaning all times of day it can be unpleasant to walk about and if you smoke, you will suffer.

Brilliant accommodation for my first year at uni. Met loads of amazing people in freshers that I am now best friends with. The staff have been amazing, always so helpful and get involved with the students. The showers are the best I've ever had, 10/10. However the downside is only minor issues, like the internet which was not working for the first 2 weeks we were here. Every now and again it stops working, but since this is has been good. Myself being on the ground floor, the first couple of months were freezing. Heater was on full blast but it was still very cold. Location is okay, being across the river from town sounds far but there is many things to do over here such as the cinema, nandos, F&b's and tescos which is conveniently below. However the metro is a 1 minute walk if that which takes you right to the town center which worked great for me because I'm situated on city campus. Overall, my stay has been fantastic, and I wish I applied to stay another year.
Had the best first year of university living here, social experiences are brilliant, definitely recommend to any fresher coming to Northumbria! Only let down is staff management with water and heating being temperamental and not working sometimes. 10/10 halls wouldn't want to have lived anywhere else
Poor mainainance. Poor build quality. Poor communication regarding doors. Terribly planned postal service. Great in flat utilities. Great Rooms. Lovely buildings. Poorly integrated social spaces, have potential but used poorly.
Staff have constant issues, fail to deal with maintenance accordingly. Extremely expensive for what you are getting and within the next four years the place will be a mess.

Aesthetically, Trinity Square is wonderful. However, the appearance is possibly the only good thing about this halls. For the first two weeks of living here, there was no wifi, hot water was constantly on and off. I had issues with my toilet that weren't fixed for two days. It took someone around a month to come and look at our dishwasher and fridge in order to set them up properly. Even now there are still a lot of issues being experienced. The lock on the door to my flat runs out of battery twice a week and nothing has been done to solve this so we have to go down to reception to get a staff member to re-programme the system and let us into our flat. The staff are also useless. They don't follow up on incidents that are logged and take months to actually solve disputes in flats (the dispute between my flat and a individual member were pretty serious too) it literally took parents constantly emailing and ringing for them to take action, even then it wasn't satisfactory.
The only problem is that it's 20-25 minute walk from Uni, but the Metro station is right outside anyway! Great friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, excellent facilities such as the Hub area with small gym, pool tables and study space. Every flat also has a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher, plus double beds in every room and the best showers I've ever used! 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
Been a few teething problems but to be expected in a new accommodation. Good value for what we pay just because of the washing machine and dryer included so no laundrette needed.
En-suite, washing machine and drier is useful, and it's all brand new and there's a gym! Too far away though, and the walls are easily scuffed and then they'll charge you for it!!
Brilliant halls and cheap! Amazing if you're far from home and cant take your washing home as it has washing machine and tumble dryer! forget having to wash up because we get a dishwasher too. There is always some flat party going on and something to do down in the hub. There are tvs, pool tables and projectors which you can use for free. Is only a 6 min metro ride from the city centre and main campus though, so not too bad. Staff on reception are really friendly and help you out as much as they can.
