This accommodation is simply amazing. You have all everything you need here, from dining hall to music rooms (more than four, both rock music rooms and classical music rooms), and again a wonderful botanic garden. The reception is open 24/7 and it’s very very very kind, providing assistance whenever you want to and really quickly. They are always free to help you, and if there is an issue in you flat/room just complete the maintenance form and in a few hours or the next day an efficient team will go to your room and fix the problem in a minute. The staff is truly efficient, they make you want for nothing- they are always here to help you. The city is really beautiful, your accommodation is surrounded well-maintained green areas- it’s all clean around the city, you can even see those in charge working! The accommodation is clean too, they give you everything you need. Plus, shops and supermarkets are really close to the accommodation, and you enjoy a fantastic view from your flat/room

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation

What tenancy length do I need?

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.

Should I stay in catered student accommodation?

This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.

What is a guarantor and do I need one?

A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.

Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?

Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.

What bills will my rent include?

If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.

What is purpose-built student accommodation?

Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.

Will my student accommodation be furnished?

Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

My room was disgusting. There was mould continuously growing behind my bed, my headboard was detached and the room was infested with spiders. I also had a wasps nest in my air vent during the summer period so my room continuously had wasps as well. The bathrooms are tiny, almost like static caravan bathrooms. The shower curtains turn black full of all the mould those bathrooms create because the ventilation is awful. My bathroom light had a leak, so when the person above me would have a shower, all the waste water would pour out of the light unit. I had to get this fixed twice. The windows are single glazed and very easy to smash. They steam up frequently and caused one of my walls to be consistently damp. Honestly the social element of the coppice was the only thing I enjoyed. Take your money elsewhere, for £140 a week they ought to be paying that to the students to live in that hell hole.

I moved in the Coppice towards the end of first semester so I missed on most of the social activities. The management of place was good, whenever I had a problem it was solved as soon as possible. Oadby was a great place to live.
