Very good accommodation for its money. It is not more or less expensive than other accommodations, but offers more stuff, starting from the free gym and ending with many socials and different sweepstakes. Helpful staff that is there 24/7. Only sometimes there are false fire alarms, but it is usual for any student accommodation and I was surprised that there were fewer false alarms than in other accommodations. There are sometimes minor issues with the internet for a few seconds, maybe, once a day where it kind of does not work and mostly you can see that in multiplayer games, but other than that fast internet. There are regular cleanings, but one problem is an abundance of trash in trash bins, it is disposed of once a week, but I think it could be done, maybe twice and again its only prominent day before trash is cleaned, most probably, because everyone is throwing it out at the last minute.

The Summit Tower on Eastern Boulevard is a fantastic accommodation option, especially for those looking to stay close to De Montfort University (DMU), as it’s just a 2-minute walk from campus. The location is incredibly convenient, surrounded by cafes, shops, and public transport options, making it ideal for both students and visitors. The rooms are spacious, modern, and designed with comfort in mind, featuring high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and plenty of storage space. Amenities like a well-equipped fitness center and cozy communal lounge add extra value, providing comfortable spaces to relax and socialize. The staff are friendly and accommodating, ensuring a welcoming and supportive stay. Overall, The Summit Tower offers great value for money, combining prime location and quality amenities to create a home-like atmosphere right near DMU. One standout experience was enjoying the breathtaking views from the upper floors, especially at sunset—the cityscape looked incredible.

YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE. The building is falling apart the lifts are broken once a week, we've had several power and water cuts in the last year. The management and communication is poor. I don't get notified when they need access to my room. Often there have been people in there without my knowledge. This week someone left me an iced coffee. Also not enough laundry rooms and too many rats

Living here is simply not worth the high rent. The property management is unhelpful at best, largely failing to address issues with smell, litter, and noise. The boiler is tiny and takes a long time to heat up. They replaced my broken microwave but the fridge/freezer is very old and small and also too warm. It is worth noting that lifts break very often, with only one out of two being available for most of the year. This is more than a minor inconvenience in a building with 21 floors. Fire alarms can go off multiple times a week in the middle of the night due to people smoking. The heaters don’t work well but this isn’t an issue as the flat never went below 20c due to insulation. However, this is a major problem during summer. The windows open barely an inch and the room hits 35C when it’s around 22C outside. The windows don’t even open enough to fit the tubing of a portable air conditioner, so it’s totally unliveable during summer. Public transport links are also not great.

I moved in a few days before term started, expecting a clean studio with an organised management team however, this was not the case at all. When I first arrived I approached the reception to check in but was turned away and told to "come back tomorrow" as they did not have my key ready even though I had completed my online check in so they were aware of my arrival. After talking to the receptionist he eventually let me in with the master key to move my things in. After moving my things in and having a look around the array of problems with the room became very clear, just to list some of the major problems; broken, rusty microwave, cracked kitchen cabinet, bathroom tap that oozes a black substance and a lumpy old mattrass that is stained brown. I had taken pictures of every problem in the room and had made the receptionist aware of these problems, also sent many emails hoping to get them fixed for when I return at the start of term. Term has begun and still NOTHING has been done!

I have enjoyed my time at the accommodation. I did not partake in many of the social events they offered, simply because I had a very busy schedule; but I was always impressed by the variety of events they offered. As someone who moved away for university, the kind of events they offered really felt like they wanted you to enjoy yourself and make a home away from home. The staff have been so so lovely. Lin, one of the reception staff, has helped me out on many occasions and has been so efficient and friendly.

Terrible place. Elevators are either not working or only one at the time works which is really annoying in that kind of building. Fire alarms goes like once a day. Moreover i still dint get my key to my mailbox and I moved in september. Everyday the stuff at reception is different and they all saying they dont know anything about it because they usually not work there. Do not reccomend, especially for the price

Don’t book this place, they only like to fix one lift at a time on purpose, you’re not able to log maintenance request yourself, so you have to actually asked reception to do it which results in your maintenance never Getting done. Like every other student accommodation, they like to make false promises all they care about is the profits. Literally the lift never works. Do not book here if you require a lift, lots of problems with rooms, rooms, missing things.

The place is generally good and if you go for a Gold studio that would be the best option as bronze has limited space but still, if you are living by yourself I believe The Summit is one of the best places in Leicester close to De Montfort University. They are not nosy about your business and help in every way they can. Tenants can be messy sometimes with garbage and triggering fire alarms but overall it is a good choice if you like to have private accommodation. Try to visit at least once before you move in to make sure everything is in place.

list of the many issues I have with The summit (I have a gold studio moved in 04/09/21). -When I moved in, the room was absolutely filthy, clearly not hoovered or anything I was finding numerous items of the previous tenant , the worst item I found was mouldy biscuits in the cupboard that had been there for God knows how long. -floor was previously damaged, they tried to cover it with a mat that has been poorly stuck on the ground using Sellotape, however the corners of the mat is lifting and I keep tripping up on it. I told them it’s a safety risk and looks poor, around 4 weeks now & maintenance hasn’t bothered. -don’t /clean communal areas, I know this because the carpet outside my studio has been absolutely filthy since I moved in. There was a bin bag left for almost 24 hours in the hallway. -Fire alarm goes off 1/2 times/day… -poor wifi -boiling room during hot weather, windows barely open. - elevators have a horrid faeces smell. THINK TWICE BEFORE DECIDING YOUR ACCOM GUYS

Very friendly and helping staff. Internet could have been better. Throughout my stay lifts didn’t work. Entrance and lifts area always smelled so bad. Flats are not suitable for summers. Inside it’s like living in an oven. Otherwise, one of the best flats in the city with an amazing view. Nothing went wrong within flat. Sound isolation is brilliant. Given all the flaws if I would love to spend another year here. At the end, it’s best value for money.

The only reason i decided to stay in this accommodation was because of the size of my room, however, my rent ended up costing £9,100.... My student mainenence loan was 9,300. So working is essential for this accom unless you have the money to sustain yourself, washing is expensive too. With that said, the young reception team is very nice, with a young woman and a young lad kn the day team being extremely helpful when i ask for help. Itll be sad leaving this place, but its just simply not affordable for me anymore.

Perfect single peraon studio great for coming out of university halls/first year. Not for socialites or those wanting to mingle in social spaces. Building can get too warm in the sun but then tends not to get too cold. The boiler/hot water is very limited due to the small boilers. Furniture and facilities are well kept. Laundry facilities are not quite on site, still involves walking to another building and arr always full and crowded with no QR code to use the app to view availability. Fire drills/alarma are a constant due to tenants smoking in rooms, especially in the evening. One of the two lifts is always broken so this can be a long wait. Packages are collected and kept well, safe and easy to access during open hours. Most building staff are friendly and helpful. Really close to Lidl and a short walk from both Tesco and the uni, 20-30 mins to town center and the train station. Building/area feels safe, is well lit and accessible.

No value for money, no proper cooling or heating systems, you can fry in summer and freez in winter, literally. Internet stop working every 2hr for 1-2min. Flooring in flat is very old. Place need renovation and also some good cooling/heating units. I am gonna move out just counting days. Its so hot and summer is still not properly started yet. Oh yes and very noisy, i literally hear people in other flat.

Olivia in the office is an absolute gem - nothing is too much trouble, she is always friendly and polite and goes out of her way to ensure everyone is happy. She is also always in a good mood and has a positive attitude at work. I'm not sure what she gets paid but I'm sure whatever it is she deserves a pay rise! Downsides: - Hot water tanks are small and you can only have a max 6 min hot shower. - Rooms can get hot in summer due to window restrictors. - Fire alarms can be very annoying, but staff have intervened to make these less frequent. - Laundry machines are always breaking down but these are (finally!) being replaced as I write this.

If you're looking to live independently or with your friends (try to book a whole floor, the staff are really helpful) and have your own spaces it is really nice. I wish there were some more social spaces as it would be a nice way to get to know people. The gold studios are definitely worth it. The view is incredible (east facing) and it really feels like it bridges the gap between moving away from home and living independently. The wifi does ask you to rebook sometimes and it is a mess trying to set up a laptop, phone or console on the system but with a bit of trying it does work. I do wish there was better ventilation as if your room catches a lot of sun- bring a fan. Overall- love it and I have already rebooked.

I am an international UoL postgraduate and I've been living in the Summit since September 2020. While the staff are friendly and it is nice to have such large windows, most of my experiences have been bad or gross and NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I booked to Gold Studio and the only part that looked like the pictures was the shape of the room. A broken table was laying in the middle of the floor, the toilet seat was completely unattached and laying on the bathroom floor, there were sick stains on the mattress, the sink was clogged, I did not have any seating which was promised in my contract, the TV didn't work until November, and mold and dust was everywhere. Clearly, no one checked the room at all before I moved in, though the front desk and maintenance staff have always been quick to respond if I need help. The elevators always smell horrible, hallway lights haven't been fixed in weeks, I once found a homeless man hiding under the stairs and the front desk had to call the police (unsafe).

First year was great, close to campus and next to a Lidl only problem was the water as I only had about 8 minutes of hot water. All the staff were nice and friendly too. Second year was terrible, the room was like an icebox near winter and a green house as soon as the sun came out. I couldn’t study in my room because the noise was so bad, I know lots of other residents that said the same thing. My windows leaked and flooded my room, ruined my sketchbooks and left my room smelling damp. When I reported this to the desk they told me that they couldn’t do much about it because the cladding was being replaced. My room proceeded to flood many more times and every time I reported it they offered me no help or solution. Eventually I had water stains all over my ceiling, the beginnings of a mould problem and the laminate started to Peel off my floors. The majority of the staff were pleasant. There is a great off site gym which offers free yoga and boxing lessons with amazing leaders

An okay/mediocre accommodation. Originally very dirty when we first moved in (I'm talking a drawer full of toe nails, at its worst). The cleanliness level improved throughout the year, however. Halls constantly smell of weed, fire alarms go off sporadically without any staff checks before people return to their rooms, or any explanation as to what triggered the alarm. The lift was out of order for many weeks. Good parcel delivery/collection set-up that was in place whilst I was these. I myself experienced absolutely no running water for over 72 hours because we reported a minor leak in the bathroom and staff switched off the water ready for repairs. When these repairs were not completed quickly, however, we requested the water be switched on for a small amount of time whilst we washed and could get a drink, but office staff refused. Ugly exterior, especially when looking out of our window at the builders' portapotties all year whilst they completed work on the tower.

If you want to enjoy a morning sleep in because you don't have uni then DO NOT STAY HERE. Everyday for the past year I have been woken up at 9am with drills, hammers and nosey construction workers outside my room window. Also the fire alarm goes off every day. If you are planning to stay here make sure you have enough mobile data for all your devices because the internet is shocking. Try not to damage anything because unless it's an easy job they take weeks to get back to you to the point fixing it yourself is the easiest option. They've recently hired a new maintenance guy but the old one did botch-jobs. Washing machines are usually broken. The receptionists are all calm. The building sometimes stinks and there tends to be litter in the lifts. The location is ideal for both universities and the views are nice. This is definitely not worth the new rent prices.

Construction work has made living here a total nightmare. Beyond disgraceful that we've only been offered one week's rent as compensation, for the price we're paying for this building the fact that we've experienced such a degree of disruption that there wasn't any indication of happening before we moved in is disgusting. Management should be f****** ashamed of themselves, it's the exact type of landlord exploiting students scenario we're always hearing about these days

The actual management of the building is poor and should be looked at heavily, especially considering the price of a room here, I would expect maintenance of the building to be far better. The organisation of the staff working here is also poor.

Lots of issues to fix. Giving couples the same sized things as a single person studio doesn't work, not enough fridge/freezer space. Not clean when first arrived. WiFi was off for a week. Lift constantly out of order. Halls smell of cannabis every other day, fire alarms are so frequent from others smoking/vaping/lighting incense, that nobody bothers to even leave anymore, once went off 8 times in succession. Under bed space is great, if you could properly access it. STOP WITH THE UNANNOUNCED/VAGUE VISITS AND STOP LETTING YOURSELVES IN. Our privacy feels violated! Sending out an email five hours later doesn't make up for anything. I had to jump on the door because they'd tried to let themselves in while sleeping and was in insufficient attire. Could be so good, but none of the staff/property owners seem to know what would actually be of use for a student and a students needs/availability.

This is my second year at The Summit, and it has been a massive step down from first year. Construction work has been happening since I moved in; which was not disclosed when I signed my contract, and when the work started there was no indication that it would take so long. This has resulted in deafening drilling going on during daytime, often in the morning making it impossible to sleep. Privacy is gone, as I have to deal with builders appearing outside my window at any given time. The refund of one week's rent that was given in attempts to compensate for this work is pathetic given the scale of undisclosed stress and disruption caused. It's not a cheap building as is, and certainly has not been worth it. Being told that we wouldn't have water during the day for a whole week recently was beyond insulting. General cleanliness around the building has been poorer this year, and new staff aren't as friendly. My experience at The Summit this year has been terrible, I would not recommend it

I haven't had the most pleasant stay at the summit. The reception staff are really friendly but I've encountered too many issues in just one month of moving in. The worst experience has been the laundry room. Someone needs to sue Circuit Laundry for stealing from students. I'd usually have to do my drying twice because the drier is efficient. The machines are always faulty and it takes forever to do laundry. There aren't any social spaces at The Summit and everyone is so stuck up, I guess that what happens when you stay in a studio apartment. The maintenance team are really slow in responding to queries as well. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the summit to anyone

Disgraceful Company. The building is undergoing construction to meet new safety requirements (this is understandable). But they did not tell me this before I booked. Then they said it will be finished by January 2020. It is now February 2020 and is nowhere near finished. They say the noise will be kept to a minimum. It is very noisy from 9 am every morning (weekday). They took one week's rent of our payments for compensation. They seem to think that it can make up for a whole year worth of disruption. This is shameful and disrespectful. It cost a hell of a lot of money to live here and the living standards have been atrocious. Sulets and Student Roost should hang their heads in shame for ripping off vulnerable students like this. I am ashamed that you represent both UoL and DMU and your service is disgusting.

Constant noise pollution from builders and they’re charging us more because of the builders. It’s so loud in my room that I have to stand in my hallway to take a phone call

The WiFi is terrible, if I have an assignment due I have to sit up my front door to get a good connection. There’s always the smell of weed and drugs in the corridors, people shouting and doors banging till 5am, and it’s constantly freezing.

DO NOT LIVE HERE There has been constant building work going on in order to remove flammable cladding. This foreseeable disturbance was not disclosed to me as I was booking my room. The sound of drilling has been very disturbing to both my sleep and my studies. Also, on the day I was moving in, I was met with very unhelpful staff who couldn't care less if there wasn't a place to park and unload my car. The invasive nature of these building works includes men on platforms whirring past your room, looking through your windows. The summit has offered a measly one weeks rent as compensation to us (£159) which does not cover the issues caused by their deviance in not disclosing these building works.

I’ve had the worst experience ever. My first impression of my room as I walked in was appalling, the floor was cracked, the toilet was dirty, the table was shaking and the lights weren’t working. The works outside makes me want to rip my head off in the morning.

When I moved in the toilet seat was broken and it was clear things were not cleaned. Had put in multiple forms for things in my room to be fixed, even had an email from a receptionist saying they've done one for me as well and yet heard nothing. Location is great and near dmu, lidl and its own gym. Affordable when compared to other student accommodation. It's a really nice looking room in a good location, could just do with a bit of cleanliness when I moved in and more urgency or contact when it comes to getting stuff fixed. Only allowed 5 devices on WiFi, have to pay for extra and went down for about 2 weeks early on into my tenure

Personally I think this has been my worst year at the summit, I have stayed for two previous years and this one has been the worst, consistent noise coming from building works and only giving one weeks rent reduction considering the works have been distruptive for atleast four months, it's disgusting for the amount we pay as students this is unacceptable, the security staff are also useless not proper security just students covering night shifts that don't bother helping every time your ring, and ids are not being checked when parcels are picked up which is a risk for theiving, wouldn't recommend this accomadation to anyone now as it has massively changed for the worst

This year has been one of the worst years for living arrangements. I lived here last year and the only problem we had was the fire alarm going off every second but that was understandable as it’s a block full of studios. However, this year there was drilling every weekday from 9am to 6pm, there was power cuts, they cut our water off and didn’t compensate us for them doing that but wanted us to go to the common room if we needed water. All we got back was one weeks worth of rent. This accommodation is not the cheapest, there were so many problems and they didn’t consider the residents. We paid for a room with a view but you can’t even look at the view because you’d have builders just looking in your room if you leave the blinds up. We were not notified of this work that was going to take place before we signed the contact but we’ve had to live through everything.

This hall is an absolute joke. The construction which is constant since we moved in is so loud. I love getting woken up at 9am every single day its great. The fact that you give us 1 weeks rent as an apology makes me f****** die. If you gave me 2 months free rent I'd rather live in the s****** student accommodation and be able to sleep without being woken up at 9am every single week day. On the bright side maintenance staff have been nothing but lovely. Just want to reiterate that I despise the entire company and will never be renting from you until the day I die.

Disruptive building works wake you up at 8:30 every morning that we was not told about before moving in. Also water was not running for a week we had to share a toilet.

I would advise that you tell people before they move in that there is going to be building works for the entire year, waking you up at the crack of dawn and traipsing past my window every 10 minutes. I wouldn’t have lived here if I knew how bad it was going to be. Considering what I had to pay to live here, if I could give you negative stars, I would.

Not good value for money AT ALL. I regret staying here to be frank. There have been so many issues with my room and this accommodation as a whole from the first week I moved in -the heating in my room did not work, after a month it was replaced. Again the heating did not work, I reported it to the security on night shift and they said it’s a shame I got a “bad heater” because they have the same in the office and it’s useless :) (I’ve been using a portable “temporary” heater for 6 months :) The electricity was off so I was in “temporary” accommodation for 4 weeks. The thermostat in the shower is constantly “Luke warm” My extractor hood hasn’t worked for the past 2 weeks -has been reported - no one has come to fix it Construction on the outside of the building (which no one had prior knowledge off means being woken up at 9am most days :) washing machines don’t work either :) List goes on

I am currently staying in the summit annex my experience so far hasn’t been completely up to expectations. When moving in the flat was a tip which made what should have been a positive experience sad. After informing staff they seemed in no rush to get the room cleaned and I spent hours myself cleaning. So far we have had issues with alarms going off at all hours of the night and issues with the lift constantly breaking and no answers. There is smells of weed all over the annex which is unpleasant and the shower goes cold after 10 minutes.

The accommodation at The Summit is adequate, but the service and overall experience has been shocking. The staff are rude and incapable of their job. There has been several occasions where they have failed at their job, such as losing the safe key meaning that none of the tenants could access personal mail or deliveries. This is a result of poor organisation in the reception. The flat was completely filthy when we arrived and I spent over 5 hours cleaning it myself for my own peace of mind. We have had multiple errors with the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night, potentially posing a risk to any tenants with a heart condition as it is very loud and shocking. This has never been addressed by the staff. The lift has been broken for two months in the annexe building and the staff claim they are waiting for a part so the engineer can begin repairs. This makes the entire building inaccessible to disabled residents. Overall, I am very disappointed considering the price.

Experience has been ruined by the construction work on the building and a refund of one weeks rent simply isn't enough, as the price was very high anyway. The price of the hall would make more sense with more hot water and better heating control and laundry facility.

As an international student i have been made to feel very welcome at this property. The cleaner once found my phone and delivered it back to my room!! there is 24 hour security so i feel very safe also. the one down side is that they could be an extra washing machine as sometimes laundry is busy.

Had some issues with maintenance over the past year but it is all sorted now also another con is its not the most social place because all rooms are studio apartments. With that being said after starting uni you become used to who lives in the building and make freinds ect. Other than that I'll be staying again

i do not have a bad thing to say about this accommodation, the receptionist girls have become friends and always help me out. because its a student roost property you get access to the free gym which is a 2 minute walk away. The location of the summit is excellent, lidl is 5 minutes away and Tesco 10 minuets away. oh not to mention this accommodation provides you with the best views in Leicester!!!!!!
