I’ve been living here for almost 2 years and it’s clear I’ve loved this place since the beginning and made me stay over for the second year too. The location is amazing, right behind the amazing New Walk so the area is quiet and peaceful, exactly 8-10 min from DMU, I couldn’t have asked for something better than this. It’s always so clean and there’s the laundry available for you anytime and at any cost!!! It seems a detail but basically every other accommodation let you pay for it… so I find it amazing. There’s a lovely common room with everything at your disposal included a great gym. The rooms are amazing, giving you the chance to have the right space with kitchen and toilet, every time it feels like coming back home giving me comfy vibes and a good feeling after a long day in uni. Moreover, Jonathan is always available for anything really, he cares so much about everyone and he’s so welcoming and always there for you! Amazing place really, the best to live in!

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
This is my second year staying at Student Beehive and it feels like home. Very close walk to uni so top marks for location! The accommodation is very safe and secure and well-maintained and offers great facilities like laundry and gym. Jonathan the manager is very friendly and helpful! Overall fantastic experience staying at Student Beehive and would definitely recommend it!

Great location, the place gets cleaned on the daily basis and is very easy to communicate with friendly staff.
I have joined the house back in 2020 and I still live here. I’m absolutely lucky for being here.My overall experience is absolutely positive. The location is great; about 7 min to city centre, 7 to 10 min to DMU and 15-20 min to University of Leicester. Everything you need is available at the house, from your own kitchen to laundry and drier machines Which are always working, always available at no extra cost. The gym is also available 24/7 at no extra cost as well. At all times there is hot water. Inside the house is always intact and clean You feel a peace of mind as there are CCTV, and most importantly; the manager Mr. Jonathan always checks and makes sure everything is smooth for everybody. If you have anything you can always contact him and he is always super kind and helpful for everything Everybody is so respectful for one another. Whether you are undergraduate or post-graduate I highly recommend this place. Absolutely convenient for everybody
Great place to live, close to the both the university and city centre so shops are never too far. Really good value for money also, paying about the same as some friends pay for an ensuite. Staff very friendly and approach issues quickly and professionally. Would highly recommend
My stay at Renaissance House has been excellent for the time I have been there! It’s just 4 minutes walk to the University of Leicester, and about 10 minutes to the train station so the location is perfect. It’s always clean around the premises, even around the bin area. I have never felt unsafe or worried throughout my stay and would recommend it to other students who want their own flat.
Amazing place to stay! Always helpful whenever you need anything. Always clean and looked after no trouble really nice area to live !
Worst accommodation I’ve lived in - several of my parcels were stolen, i only ever got reimbursed for the last one because I refused to hand in my key until I got compensation due to it not being the first time. There is never a receptionist there which is why parcels and TV’s get stolen (which also happened twice). Unsafe place to live in, the people in my corridoor were rude, loud and I also got screamed at by another tenant living there because i asked him not to shout down the phone right outside my room at midnight. I’ve never lived with such inconsiderate people before out of my 3 years of living in Leicester. Nothing about this accommodation is worth paying such a low amount for.
Amazing! Would definitely recommend. Great location, great rooms and a really helpful team of staff.
I loved living here. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place near campus and it’s great value for money!
Amazing and oustanding place to live in!
