I love agard court. My flatmates and all the staff here are so lovely. I was having a real tough time being away from home at the start of the year but everyone really helped me realise this is my new home away from home. The hall manager and caretaker are fantastic at what they do, the cleaners smile all the time making me feel comfortable in my kitchen. I can quite honestly say Agard Court has been the best place for mr for uni, so much so, ive booked to stay again next year.

Flat 1B at Agard Court has 5 bedrooms in it. In fact most flats at this hall have 4-6 bedrooms. Flat 6A at Agard Court has five bedrroms in it, all Premium en suite rooms
We usually don't allocate rooms by subject being studied as we feel most students will meet people from their course anyway. There are some exceptions like Nursing where the contract is 51 weeks so sometimes nurse are put together. Computing students can stay in any of our halls as they are all just a short walk away from lectures, however St Christopher's Court is marginally nearer to Markeaton Street than the other halls.
£2.50 for wash
£1.50 for dry
but prices may vary depending on cycle and function but within that price range

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Thanks for the great score for Agard Court. This hall like all our halls also offers a great Residence Life programme of mostly free events.
It is the most modern and furbished accommodation option the University has to offer and is a good value for money as there are no extra costs for bills etc. The accommodation offers all en-suite rooms with a small double bed, desk, shelving, wardrobe, and an excellent-sized bathroom with a toilet, sink, shower, and a decent amount of storage space. The kitchen is very large with storage space, two fridge-freezers, a table and cooking space with an oven and electric hob. There are also sofas and a TV in the kitchen. There are lots of facilities by Agard Court as it is a 5-minute walk from the City Centre and numerous of the University bus stops.

The prices are going up when they are already expensive enough as it is. Very Modern & Clean and good management and staffing.
Great to hear you like Agard Court . It is our most expensive hall but we have plenty of other en suite halls that are similar but cheaper. Many open day visitors have commented that our halls are a lot cheaper than accommodation at other Universities.
Agard court is new, fresh and clean. Some kitchens are like a corridor but others are large and open. It’s in a great position, close to town and unibuses. The management try to help you out with any problems you have
We're really glad you liked staying at Agard Court. You're right it is in a great location close to Friar Gate with it's restaurants, bars and clubs and literally next door to the Law School (One Friar Gate Square). There is also a brand new Lidl supermarket five minutes away which is really convenient
Can be quite unsociable at times however hall manager Amy is helpful and friendly
We're pleased you found the Hall Manager helpful and friendly. Sometimes having an ensuite room in a flat can be isolating as you don't share so many facilities with your flat mates so it's easier to stay closeted in your room. It's so important to connect with your flatmates and other students in the halls community. For that reason our Residence Life programme of mostly free and some subsidised activities aims to bring students together and help them make new friends. We'd encourage all our residents to get involved with these activities. We know that many students have made lifeling friends through them. The inter-hall sports tournaments are really popular and the creative arts sessions have a regular following so there is something for everyone. Find out more about our Residence Life programme
Great value for money, the block I’m in is always quiet so I’m always guaranteed a good nights sleep.
Glad you found Agard Court a nice environment to live in while studying at Derby Uni
Not the most social of halls, but not an issue for me, location is perfect right next to town and the rooms themselves are lovely
We think the rooms are lovely too. Students love to personalise them and make them their own with nice bedding, ornaments and posters. :)The small double beds feel really luxurious and the fact that they have underbed storage is a real bonus.
I do not live in halls but my friends do - they seem really happy with their flats!
Agard Court is a very popular hall - glad to hear your faltmates are happy with their accommodation there.
Great location to the city centre and close to university bus stops, very modern building
Yes and Agard Court is literally next door to One Friar Gate Square (for Law, policing, Criminology etc) and just a few minutes walk from Britannia Mill and Markeaton Street. Round the corner is Friar Gate, one of Derby's liveliest streets in the evenings and 5 minutes away there is a brand new Lidl supermarket. what more could you want?
