25 minute walk away from campus, with nearby shops on Mill Rd. The flats are clean and come with an en-suite, which is good for the 2nd cheapest accommodation. The only problems are that the kitchen storage is lacking and the wifi is horrible. Consider bringing an ethernet cable if you can, and bring containers for extra cupboard space. Overall, its good. £160 a week is a lot, but compared to other halls in Cambridge it's a steal.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
I cannot stress enough how much of a scam this accom is. 100% clearing students who have no other options. Disgusting kitchens, discussing rooms, discussing everything. Staff are there during the day doing the bare minimum to meet the bare legal requirements. Deliveries were regularly stolen, bikes were stolen, drug use on-site was abhorrent, it was literally a slum within Cambridge. Make all efforts to live elsewhere, it costs 9k for 43 weeks and it'll likely be the worst use of 9k I'll ever experience. The site manager (Simon) is a nice guy though, no disrespect is intended towards him, he's playing the hand he was dealt.
Sedley is the worse possible place you could live first year, Simon the landlord is awful and rude absolutely sexist. No respect and yet the least amount of effort put into the whole accommodation. There’s no common room or communal space. The rooms are unbelievably small with single beds, no fans in the bathrooms, furniture is the cheapest you might as well sit on deck chairs. Even when cleaned it looks rank. For what it costs literally go anywhere but here.

not good. terrible value for money. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! I'd rather live in Jeffrey Dahmer's basement than here.
Sedley was not great I would advise people to go somewhere else. Lots of people moved out half way through year because rent is too expensive and rooms were small and tacky. im heard lots of people didn't get their security deposit also which is alot of money.
An old office building converted to accommodation in the cheapest possible way. Everything is low quality / the bare minimum. The showers have damp and the ovens don't have ventilators. You're paying lots of money for a really dingy accommodation. You can find better accommodation for your money than Sedley Court. The price September 2020-21 was £146 per week. For September 2021, its going up to £160. Why? Lots of students this year claimed the price was too much for the poor quality rooms and kitchens, now Catalyst Housing are raising the price by £14 per week. That's an extra £574 per year, per student. An extra £86,000.00 this year for Catalyst, by taking advantage of students. Why? Because Sedley relies on international students who are new to the country and in desperate need of accommodation, thus being able to rip them off. Not only do I think Sedley is bad, I think ARU should stop recommending it. If you still have time, look for somewhere else. I wish I did.
I loved my student accommodation in first year. It was a great place to meet other students and the location etc was perfect for getting to university within 15 minutes.
Sedleyyyyyyy always and forever
def could be noicer but still noice
Very expensive for Cambridge, for this money people can find a whole flat.
It like home love it don’t want to leave
Found staff to be rude, manager leaves his dog in grounds most days to bark its head off, repairs that were never fully completed and had a dodgy repairman in my room. For what I paid, my room was tiny
