Blenheim Court Biography
At Blenheim Court getting to class couldn’t be easier as the University of Bristol is a short 10-minute walk away and UWE is easily accessible via the bus. Being so close to the city centre means you get to enjoy the city’s shopping quarter, which includes a Harvey Nichols department store, Primark and Nando’s restaurant.
Stokes Croft is also nearby and is where you can find independent cafes, live music and graffiti. There are vending machines available to make use of when wanting to grab a midnight snack. If you are in a sociable mood, you can hang out in the common room fitted with comfy couches, a TV and a pool table. For added convenience, there is also a Tesco Express located on the ground floor.
You have a selection of en-suite and studio rooms to choose from. No matter which room type you choose, you can be sure that you will have your very own private bathroom. If you stay in an en-suite room, you will share a kitchen with flatmates, but if you opt for a studio you will have your own kitchen inside your room.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

The best and the worst accommodation at the same time. I had good flatmates and the location is absolutely the best out of all city accom, however there are so many on going pest issues with rats and silverfish. The staff are also the absolute worst (hopeless) if I'm completely honest - even the cleaner and security team are better. They also started construction work to the exterior of the building 3 months into moving in with no prior warning! This was awful, so loud and disruptive - again the staff/building manager had nothing much to say nor offer any compensation for this.
Didn’t have an oven for 6 months, it took weeks of pestering to get it fixed or any compensation. In addition I had multiple mice and various rodentia living in the kitchen, along with silverfish and worst of all a great deal of black mould. Would not recommend, steer clear.
Our flat only has one fridge between 5 people which is not big enough. Other flats have two. We have asked for another one but the problem has not been fixed and most likely ignored. The ongoing construction work outside wakes me up and there is no privacy screen on my window where construction men walk past everyday. Could this construction not have waited until the summer when everyone has moved out? But idk maybe this wasn’t possible. Lifts are constantly going out of order with long delays to fix. Social area is depressingly small compared to the other uni accommodations and there’s only 3 washing machines to the whole building. Location is the only good thing about this place. But I’d recommend moving into Marketgate or Nelson and Drake.
Could be better but could be worse. A lot of things needed to be fixed
Some of the kitchen panels were Brocken when we got here and we didn’t have bins

my experience in Blenheim has been good i’m happy to be in the city centre, staff are helpful but often maintenance takes a very long time, and wi-fi often cuts out, the taps run extremely hots so be careful when washing up, i’ve had mice and it took up to two weeks for maintenance to sort it out but other than that i have enjoyed my stay here, people are nice and their are often socials going on.
best part is the location as right next to bus stop and the centre. bad that they’re doing construction on the building for the rest of the year as it feels invasive and covers the windows.
Great place for first Years very active and well taken care of dorms
Relatively good. However there is a massive mice/pest problem. And a lot of Broken appliances / missing appliances have never been given or replaced.
it does the job, had some issues with the lifts breaking and not being fixed, ongoing construction is a bit disruptive but will conclude in 2024. regular social events are held but don't cater to dietary requirements.
Overall pretty good some room for improvement definitely with making sure the elevators work
Great place to live, very central. Nice layout in the bedrooms, lounge and kitchen.
The location is very good with Tesco location right beside the accommodation. Social places and the washer rooms are decent given the accomodation prices. However, sometimes we notice mouses here and there but the stuff try to solve it as soon as we let them know so it's not a big problem. Overall, decent accommodation quality and worth the money.
nice location, close to cabot circus but minor mouse and rat problem
Great accommodation, perfect location and lovely staff
Blenheim is okay except for the mouse and silverfish infestations. As well as this the fridge in my flat leaks, oven doesn’t shut properly, wifi hardly works and the heating in my flat doesn’t switch on. Other than that it’s 10/10
It's mostly decent. My room gets no natural light thooo.
Constant lifts down, washing machines broken and not fixed (also expensive and not enough for building), pests in kitchen (mice) - you report it and they don’t get anything done about it to extent we’ve had mice in kitchen for the full term and we aren’t only ones in building. Staff friendly enough. There’s building works constantly and loud noise from road, very disruptive.
The service here is like watching someone iron a creased shirt with the iron switched off. Horizontal, haphazard and clearly in need of some serious administration reorganisation. They give you unnecessary parking fines when you go to move in. Even if a person was staying in the car and not obstructing any other vehicle entrance or road. (A personal note) Any interaction with the reception staff is frankly futile as the left hand never knows that the right hand is doing, on top of their blasé attitude to dealing with complaints. However, this is the least I expected from a company called ‘Unite Students’ as they’re clearly united in being inept and inadequate.
Thank you for your review. We’re really sorry to hear you haven’t had a great experience at Blenheim Court. Student feedback is important to us, and we take your review very seriously. To provide clarity, parking fines are only given to students who violate parking regulations. Even when sitting in one's vehicle, it is against regulations to park oustside the loading bayWe are sorry for the negative experience you had with our reception staff and administration. We will feed this back internally and will look into how we can better support residents’ concerns going forward. If you would be open to discussing this further, please contact us at blenheimcourt@unitestudents.com Thanks Shirley
Lovely experience, very social
