The most amazing time here, that's more to do with the fact that I had an amazing friend group there rather than the accommodation itself being perfect. However I would say a cheaper accomm like this one is ideal as everyone there is normal and down to earth

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
It's a good accomodation. I'm in sinclair house and I have a single room. I share with 4 other people. There is 2 bathrooms and one kitchen. I know in the main building you share with more people like 8-10, close to university and its a really peaceful area, but also there are lots of students to socialise with as well we have clifton hill house and goldney near us so there is a balance. It's an accomodation that suits everyone, whether your introverted or extroverted, as there are a good mix of people. There are sometimes issues with WiFi, but overall it's pretty good!
Amazing value for money!! so lovely and an incredible location! the room was huge and it was really lovely living there

The cheapest official halls for UoB and probably one of the best- our rooms are much bigger than those that are more expensive, just dated. I prefer older looking rooms so this is good for me, much of the room is wooden and matches the Georgian building. One of the closest halls to the university facilities and all of the nightlife- the relatively big Sainsbury's is nearby but anything bigger or cheaper is a bit more of a trek (30+ minutes, not too bad). Decent social spaces but the bar has closed, we have music rooms, pianos and a hall (never been in though). JCR seems decent! Very very social halls and the large kitchens/flats help with this, but also possible to work. Unfortunately the kitchen is poor and the plumbing is terrible. Lost hot water in the first week and within 3 weeks we had flooding, water loss, hot water turning off and on, yellow water running from the basins and the pipes are really loud!! We had 17 people sharing one kitchen with only 3 fridges.
If you're looking at coming to Bristol, I'd definitely recommend Manor. It is so lovely, its got a real nice garden, good location and views and the rooms are bloody huge. If you are wanting a more characterful room, Manor is definitely the best. Kitchens are pretty big but the flats are too, everyone I know has enough space to do what they want. The common areas are really useful, too and there's free pool tables. You can also park here if you need to drive and useful for people visiting also. Genuinely cannot recommend this place enough - literally so sad to leave. 0 East forever my friends:)
Rooms are big and location is perfect, but the building is definitely old and could really do with a little touch up - even if it is cheap it is pretty crusty and grim, especially the bathrooms. My room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly moving in, but kitchen and bathroom are cleaned regularly. Don’t go to manor hall if you aren’t prepared to live with tons of people - I shared with 13 and it feels as if there isn’t enough space in the kitchen to manage such a high number of people and it’s difficult to maintain relationships/manage cleaning or talk about issues with so many. Some of the social spaces are lacking - the website advertises a bar that may as well not exist! The wifi is inconsistent and can be frustrating when doing anything other than studying, with online classes it is not great. The water pressure and temperature fluctuate and the water is barely drinkable at times!! It really could be better for what I paid, even when keeping in mind it is an older property.
Being in Halls during Covid was always going to be strange, but I feel SO at home at Manor. It's such a beautiful community of people and I'm going to be so upset to leave. The rooms are huge (and if you're facing the right way you have the best view in Bristol), and I haven't met anyone who wasn't lovely. If you're thinking of Manor (and aren't going for the massive, city, party vibe like Hiatt Baker) then definitely go for it. You'll have an incredible first year experience here.
Quality baked beans on toast is all I’m going to say. Ground 00 west you have my heart
One of the best Student Halls - Traditional, Social, and good fun! Get involved with Drama, Music room, Run club! Students Union is 5 minutes away, and another 10 minutes to campus. In the heart of clifton village, yet best priced, huge rooms with amazing views. The staff are all very helpful too.
Manor Hall is underrated. Its one of the closest halls to uni, so no buses involved, can walk into Clifton village, cabot and whiteladies. Also just up the road from Clifton triangle which has loads of clubs and shops so you're sorted, everyones really sociable, Clifton and goldney are down the road and the BIGGEST ROOMs in Bristol.
No facilities, awkward jcr committee and next to beautiful Clifton Hill House.
I've been in Manor for 2 months now and I'm having the time of my life! I love the halls, I'm involved with Manor Amateur Dramatics (who put on two shows a year), I get on with me 12 person flat really well and in general I love it! The location is great, a 10 minute walk to my classes and a 5 minute walk to all the clubs on the triangle! I would definitely say that Manor Hall is the best halls of residence overall in Bristol!
Just amazing tbh just the right size so you know or at least recognise basically everyone. They also have lots of activities on to get involved with and some f*** good formals, never want to leave
Yeah it's a bit old but decent, dead close to everywhere and the JCR have tons going on
Top banter in manor can't be beaten, Love Melvy
Really the best hall in Bristol
Had the best time in manor as a fresher. It has a very chilled out vibe, lots of good nights out and in but also lots of people who actually want to get their work done! A good balance let's say.
Absolutely amazing place, without doubt the best hall. Has the most perfect location, beautiful area, no buses to catch and amazing social life. Rooms are huge in the main building, amazing veiws and beautiful gardens too. There really is no negative at all about it.
Great atmosphere and so easy to meet people. Feels like the most hallsy type of hall. JCR could do a lot more for the students though and cleaners can be a bit ratty sometimes
