I’m not sure who is taking the photos of the University of Sussex. But none of these photos are an accurate representation. Google Maps has photos and reviews for the University and individual accommodations which I recommend looking at. Lewes Court is a great place to be.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

This is such a lovely accommodation! Surrounded by nature it’s like waking up in a paradise and I love it
Ive just dropped my friends son off at Lewes court. I was really shocked by the 3rd world mattress he is expected to sleep on.....an ancient sagging mess of springs...our dog has better. For £123pw too. Comfort aside it cant possibly comply with fire safety regs?
Stayed in an en-suite room in Lewes Court and was pretty happy with it. Not the most modern of buildings but had spacious rooms and it did the job. The showers were a bit temperamental. Wifi not great.
I loved staying in Lewes court.
Never live here.l!! The building manager does not care about your issues. The porter always says he has fixed something when he hasn’t, you literally have to ask them about 4 times before he believes that it’s broken. Noise insulation is absolutely terrible. It’s like the whole building shakes when somebody closes the front door. You can only park your car outside if you have a permit which is usually only granted if you’re disabled which I would understand if parking was limited however there are spaces for over 150 cars so it doesn’t make sense that we get fined for parking There has been a silverfish infestation for months and pest control was supposed to come?? But of course it’s Lewes Court so nothing gets done because we’re not rich kids. Wifi is absolute trash. Only good things about this place are the courtyards which are quite social and nice in warm weather. and the bunnies of course. Relatively close to the shop/doctors/pharmacy too if you’re in block 1 or 2
Loved it. Phase 2 is great with the ensuites. Wouldn't go anywhere near phase one.
Overall, It was nice but a bit older than some halls for example northfield and swanborough. It has ensuite rooms and studios as well.
Great and easy location to get to anywhere else sociable on campus. Best campus accomodation for money in Sussex.
Great kitchen facilities and spacious rooms. Not as social as other halls and heating and hot water often broke with no compensation.
Good space within the building and in the rooms. Not far from lecture halls and other areas of campus.
