for the money you pay per week, and relative to bath accommodation, it is pretty good. genuinely a perfect location, and rooms in my opinion are very spacious especially compared to similar priced accom on campus like Eastwood Green/Terrace. kitchens are decently sized enough to socialise with your flat in, and also is cleaned fortnightly. can only speak for my own room, and flat, as was on the 6th floor, but it was very hot and stuffy as the weather got warmer, to the point we got given fans and it was borderline unliveable for the first week of June. there also was limited social space, just one room for the whole building with soft chairs and some tables. also, the biggest issue was the 2 washing machines and 2 driers for the 135 students in the accommodation, however it was manageable if you planned when you were gunna use them. overall however, i enjoyed staying in Carpenter and think it did the job for the year, decently social, and have made friends for life for sure.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
The location is great as it is at the heart of the city, therefore being very close to all the shops. The only cons i would say are the buses and the distance to the uni.

Brilliant location in city centre. Lack of good convenient social space, limited social space in individual flats makes socialising difficult. Remote position from campus leads to isolation and difficulties attending events, activities and making use of the campus facilities plus additional cost for bus travel. Flatmates made it a good social experience but the facilities impeded any reasonable socialising unless in individual's rooms. The photos are not representative.
Paperthin walls, slamming fire doors, loud vent outside room window. Not great for sleep, concentration or general well being. Also, no ventilation in kitchen and hallway leaves for a fine stuffy corridor air with a real 'homey feel'... Grim, would not recommend. Only decent part is printer on bottom floor and location.
literally the same as john wood but closer to city centre
