Very good Good learning opportunity Very good infrastructure
it was a great experience, best experience you could get anywhere in the world, im still shocked how good this experience was.
The services provided by the uel were too nice. Faculty was too good stub their teaching and area of knowledge. Would surely recommend my junior colleagues to come at study at uel for their interest of course & knowledge.

Good university with great accessability
I studied a BSc here from 2019-2022, based at the Stratford campus. I was a mature student, and I gained a 1st - the teaching standard is largely good and I also believe that university is largely reading and researching independantly. My main warning to you is that the university is incompetently organised at admin level, an issue that the course leaders seem to struggle with butting up against themselves. Amongst other things I have experienced constant change of course leadership, being unable to access Teams or email for weeks despite complaint, not being registered for modules I should have been on and as a parting hoorah my award was somehow not put to the board for ratification (I had to draw attention to this error myself) and I then spent months repeatedly contacting UEL to issue my award certificate - I finally (at my own effort and having to resort to filing a compliant with them) received it in the mail today (December), dated June 2023. Ridiculous and inept.
This uni is terrible. The uni does not care about you at all. Do not live on campus as it literally feels like prison and reminds me of the psych ward. The courses themselves you barely have to put any effort in to pass and the lecturers and support staff could care less about you. The uni is terrible do not go here.
UEL is a bad place in terms of teaching, good place If you try and find opportunities. First year of UEL was fine, they taught you enough for you to understand the foundation of programming. Second year, WAS BAAD through our whole term we had a *teacher who didn't know anything in regards of the subject she was teaching. She basically said the answer for this is A and told us to mark it on our paper. We later on found out she is a substitute and we didn't have a teacher who knew that subject for that whole term. UEL also forced all computer students to participate and design the new London city area. This would of been fine if we were given a choice but we weren't. I believe this is because the mayor of London required all universities to get involved. Did I mention how our CLASSES got pushed back a week later for this? Third year, was fine but near the end of our term we had to go to a lesson by force near submission deadlines. This class was a 1HR sales pitch of doing a MSC at UEL.
Ok not many people in my course
Uel student hub staff and it’s service is very poor and pathetic
I have just finished my undergraduate degree in psychology/child psychology. UEL is bar FAR the MOST shocking university there is. They are UNORGANISED, the teaching is PATHETIC, I taught myself EVERYTHING I know. Their support for students is DIABOLICAL!! You will NEVER get a response from ANY emails you send. I learnt ZERO from this university. Their dissertation module is a SHAMBLES. I would not recommend to ANYONE!!!!! Do NOT waste your time, money or application to this university. They are COMPULSIVE liars. There is NO duty of care for their students and they DO NOT understand MENTAL HEALTH. Please AVOID WITH ALL COSTS!!!!!
Excellent but constant industrial action and slow refund process
During my studies with UEL, I got the best tutoring advice and mentoring. I must emphasise that my learning experience was absolutely crucial to my professional and personal development. Thank you for all the best tutoring and facility provision, I am proud to have studied with UEL.
Has been the best uni experience I could ask for!
I loved the CertHe Course it has been very influential xx
Italia conti is great. I love it so much. Great training
Love Conti and it’s facilities
Good school. Some organisation management issues with timetables and room availability. Very good reputation and studio space.
Italia conti is a great school with good facilities and training
(Italia Conti) Amazing, couldn’t recommend more
The uni is s*** i hate it there
I having completed a MA course in social work with UEL and Tavistock- I have never known anything so unorganised! Placements were delayed, marking assignments were delayed by a week, and now graduation was postponed due to the marks not being sent to the assessment board in time. I would not recommend this university to anyone! Don’t waste your time or money!
Feel like I haven’t been there
i want to give 0 star rating but its not allow me to do. The worst university ever for international student, They will give you so importance before applying in UEL and when you pay the fees then your value is zero. They didn't solve my single query for last 5 months. I feel very regret why i choose this university, at the time of interview at the embassy i told them many qualities of this university like why i choose this university and now i am thinking this university is not even meet the single quality. i just regret, not a single student is happy with this university and i will suggest you all if you want to ruin your future then go ahead and choose this university.
I am overwhelmed by the level of support I am receiving by the tutors at the UEL. I study HR in my first year and I feel more than well looked after. I have great communication with all my tutors in relation to all subject matters. The most important details required for the assignments completion, are repeated sufficiently, so all students can understand and remember what exactly they need to do in order to be successful in UEL. The university exceeded my expectations by far in every aspect. The culture in the place is friendly, easy going and extremely supportive. I highly recommend UEL to anyone who is actually wants to study, learn and graduate.
UEL is best described as a complete shambles, and that's being generous.
Worst teaching and problem concerns are not resolved on the part of the university - even at the highest escalation. Take distance!
Courses are good but can probably have better social opportunities
They are not helping you, they are not answering and you feel just left alone and abandoned. The worst organization ever.
I'm doing my MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and this is the biggest waste of money in my life. I have changed my career path as the teaching is so terrible I do not feel equipped to enter the field. Lecturers expect bare minimum of you and provide awful lectures which you can easily find on Google on dodgy sites so its not even their own material. Next to no actual hands on experience and limited range of research projects. Labs are not modern as advertised, and the MSc lab project room has no air con or fans so it's absolutely unbearable yet your expected to keep your legs covered and stay in there with your experiments. Assignments not challenging and most are unhelpful to learning. Staff unhelpful and rude. Student hub takes 7 months to get back to you. AVOID
It was difficult to give zero, I would not recommend staying on campus for anything but WiFi. The staff are pretty rude and seem to be there for a laugh. You will find caring staff, few and far between. The Campus culture starts from the TOP, not the bottom. That being said the catering staff are lovely.
Had the worst experiences at UEL. Staff DO NOT care about you! They just want money from you! Staff are completely inappropriate and there are zero repercussions as they will take staff word over students. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Great place, Staff are always friendly and helpful!
Worst student records/hub support-less uni ever. there are some good lecturers but they do not communicate respond or support you and this lack of information cost me a lot of money. Avoid! unorganised!
Okay university, I personally experienced a lot of discrimination from both lecturers and peers. Fashion facilities were lacking with machines breaking often and there being a rat/mouse infestation in all the studio buildings. There seemed to be some clubs/societies but like the Student Union they aren't visible on campus. The location is alright but out of the way, not worth paying £9000 a year for in my opinion.
Despite my happy memories here I can say my friends and classmates made my experience. The uni itself wasn’t worth the fee in my opinion. Two tutors dropped out in my first year and our class has been complaining ever since from the lack of unorganisation and clarity from instructions. Especially this was stressful during the pandemic , our third year is graded the same as other years who have had full access to public areas and adequate equipment. It hasn’t really felt like a uni experience more like a part time job. On the positive side, there are good tutors here currently who are thoughtful and considerate, and give us opportunities to listen to guest speakers and hard talk on how to survive in the industry. In addition, one of my tutors helped me gain invaluable experience in the styling sector that I can’t thank enough. It’s just a shame that our third year is ending like this without contact with classmates or tutors for a year.
I'm currently doing a PGCE at UEL, throughout the past few months, Elicia has been incredibly supportive. Having completed an undergrad degree at a different university, the experience I'd have so far with her as my course leader has been amazing. When I've struggled, she's always immediately offered me options to help my situation. Just generally, as well, her demeanor is enormously helpful, I've had great advice without feeling pressured, her support offered is incredibly practical, helpful and her compassionate worldview comes across in her actions. Whilst the Admin with UEL can sometimes be a little difficult, in my experience, she's has always chased up any issues I've had and helped me. UEL itself can sometimes be a little frustrating (understandable given the current pandemic), Elicia has been an absolute rock. In terms of the RS PGCE, I would 100-percent recommend this course, purely on the basis of how much passion and support Elicia will give you!
All The staff in the education department as so helpful!
It's a good uni and has supported us both I feel they could have handled covid better by making it all online during the second lockdown however I am enjoying it .
I wanted to cancel my enrolment and no one bothered to help me, no one answered emails and therefore, I lost a study place through clearing because they would not release my enrolment.
I'm doing the dance course and the teachers themselves and content I really like, but as an international student the administration was terrible with COVID. They've charged me for rent after I had already left, and are withholding my 650 pound deposit when I know for a fact there's no damage in my room? They packed our things for us and luckily my things are ok but some of my friends had some items lost. No one was updating me on where my stuff was and how many boxes there were. I arranged for my friend to come get my things recently and when she arrived there was no one there and no one answered the phone. Then they later say it takes them up to 5 days to read emails?? Now I need an enrollment form to sort my tuition payments. I've been asking them since July. They finally send me the completed form last week, and they forgot to attach the form to the email?? Absolutely insane, so much unecessary stress and it seems like they only have one single person working at the HUB admin.
Very satisfied with the overall experience in UEL.
The campus is very new and modern with a decent Sports Dock.
Administration shambles. They messed up: - my enrolment - ID cards - room bookings for lectures - attendance registration - handing in of course work The course: - half the tutors were competent and fair - there was bullying and marking down by the other tutors - didn't stick to published timetable - some lectures great, others you would get more info from a couple of hours on google - timetabling did not allow enough time for breaks. We did 2pm to 8pm. By the end everyone too tired and hungry to concentrate. Campus facilities - poor: - no cafeteria / coffee shop after 4pm - coffee machines often empty or not working properly - outside rest area = useless in winter - no indoor rest area - inadequate rooms e.g. lack of ventilation, daylight - lack of lifts for people unable to do stairs - easy to get lost due to lack of proper signage - wifi never worked - IT often failed - nothing for mature students
The worst experience I've ever had. 4 years of learning and I feel I wouldve learnt the same things on youtube !! Lecturers dont care and put NO effort at all, to motivate students or help students. When asking for help during a global pandemic, the university will ask you to pay them MORE money. Yes that's right, they've scammed 100's of students out of their accommodation. Dont waste your money or time going here.... you have been warned
Close to City Airport, so noisy, very. Serviced by the DLR which is packed in the morning and sporadic at night. Very isolated from Central London so as far as locations go it truly is "Close, but no cigar!" The student accommodation is truly awful. The only decent programme they run is no longer on offer so my advice is look elsewhere.
University of East London is one of the worst university that I never come across any other institution in my life. If anybody is applying for Masters in Public Health specifically please don't even bother to take admission in that university. The teaching faculty is disaster, they don't even bother to provide feedbacks on the assignments, poor quality of teaching etc.
Campus cares more about your money than your well being
I did complete 3 year Civil Engineering course with this university and I will share my experience. (Docklands campus) Great, massive library with many computers and not busy. Labs are well equipped, classrooms also. Students from different London universities are coming to UEL printing center as is cheap in compare to others and high quality. Gym very well equipped, and sport facilities. Enough to grow your sport potential. Only missing swimming pool. There is lot of different club/ societies that you can join or even make your own one. Careers service at dockland campus is very supportive and organizing employability workshops. Never had a problem with Wi-Fi. The campus is located next to the airport, however the buildings are very well soundproofed.
I left the moment I realized this university was ridiculously mediocre in every aspect especially the teaching and student living. The accommodations are located on the other side of the city airport making your stay noisy and unsuitable for learning. The lectures and lessons were borderline useless after the first week. Thank god I withdrew from the course after four months filled with regret and depressive thoughts. On the other hand, the people I met were amazing and eased the stay, I just wish they would leave the uni too.
A lot of employability opportunities for students
UEL is unorganised, unsafe and over priced. its like the uni doesnt know we are young poor students.
I love my course, my teachers and my colleagues. Course content on point. There's the right amount of everything.
The university has great facilities
Disorganised and not worth the money
Albright. Nothing to be proud of but nothing to be ashamed of either.
Great facilities and staff that are always ready to help!
University Of East london is one of the best universities in the UK. It provides excellent facilities and services to it’s students.
Great lectures and the location of the Docklands campus is probably the best in London!
The university provides a good environment and facilities for learning and pursuing a music degree
Great university services and lecturers however, not so great societies and clubs.
They discriminate against sick people, and make you feel guilty even when circumstances can’t be helped’ I was in ICU and the uni out on my report that I just chose to not attend my last exams! And they stole stuff from my room upon moving out!
Good uni where I feel I can have help and support with anything.
This place is sikk, have had the best time and the course staff have been brilliant
Excellent facilities and great teaching standards.
Pathetic excuse of an university, how are they not embarrassed to charge £9000 fees. Everything is bare minimum.
Overall good university for studying.
Heloed me increased mg work experiences ! so much scheme
I do not recommend this institution to anyone especially to international students. Please save your time and money and go to another college or uni. Trust me i attended this uni and failed almost all courses even I am A student and passed with 80% in CUNY college NY. Professors dont care, Hub never helped and most of all you are treted as a customer***. Simply tgey keep failing you so they can make more more more money. Take my advise and thanks me later!!
I absolutely have loved my first year and my course is incredible! I have made so amazing friends and I can’t wait to see what my second year holds!
