It’s been a great experience so far, so easy to make friends and the lectures and people in general are very friendly and helpful.
The University facilities are average and are not held to as high standards as I would expect but I would say the necessities for education are fully equipped.
The University has so many societies to join and advertise themselves at the freshers fair each year. There are lots of places to study or have chill time and great food outlets ranging from breakfast to lunch/dinner. There is a store that sells the universities hoodies, sweaters and joggers which are perfect for fall/winter and are very cosy.
Everything is okay and the university has lots of facilities to cater for student needs
The university of Essex is a decent university that has its moments.
The campus is very homely and welcoming. The abundance of green space makes you feel close to nature which is very calming. There is a vast range of societies all of which are made up of kind and friendly students. The SU is well managed and they hold a variety of fun and interesting events every week.
Universoty of essex is an amazing uni with wide variety of courses and excellent faculty. There are soo many services available at the uni which is mind blowing for me. Everyone at the uni are supportive and friendly.
I’m a first year student that applied through clearing. The location of everything on campus is close and they have a wide range of facilities. I do live a 10 min walk away from campus but it doesn’t really affect me. The surrounding area is also pretty and there’s lots of places to study and relax.
very easy to navigate. the staff tell us everything we need to know in the lecture.

As a current student at the University of Essex, I've had a great experience so far. The university fosters a diverse and inclusive community, with excellent support for both academics and personal development. The staff are knowledgeable and approachable, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of the classroom. The campus is vibrant, and the facilities are modern and well-equipped. Overall, it's a great place for students looking for a well-rounded experience.
Really diverse, supportive and passionate university with great opportunities, events and facilities
I like my school’s facilities,it is very huge and have lots of accomodations in the campus
Excellent place to be at! Loved my 1 year program at the university.
I love Essex Uni, the atmosphere is positive and the environment is great, I love to visit the lake and enjoy the nature.

Good experience. Can improve the wifi quality
Best university for studying computer science
The WiFi is very good, the rooms are all different themes, there are many clubs and societies to be apart of there is a real sense of community here. It’s such a healthy nice place to study higher education .
Lovely university, nice campus and lots of student activities
Good university for students with few distractions from studies
The university has met my expectations. The quality of education is better than I would have imagined.

It’s a good school, with different opportunities for students
I have enjoyed studying at essex.
Shoutout to Rob and Chris for sorting out my bathroom. Resolved the issue in less than 24 hours. Really efficient and much appreciated. Thank you!
Great university with great facilities
Attending the University of Essex has been an incredible experience for me. The campus is vibrant and welcoming, with plenty of facilities and everything you need close by. The student union is fantastic, offering a range of fun activities and support, making student life really enjoyable. The location is great, with the campus being safe and just 1 hour and 30 minutes from London, which is perfect for international students. The faculty is excellent, and the courses are well-structured and comprehensive, though a bit more contact time and support would be helpful. The student life here is lively, with lots of opportunities to join sports, societies, and events, which helps create a strong sense of community. While there's room for improvement in student support services, the career prospects after graduation look promising. Overall, I highly recommend the University of Essex for a rich and fulfilling student experience.
Love the diversity and supports I receive.
Cool and chill? Could do better with standing on the RIGHT side of history by divesting in investing their funds in WARS were the largest number of people starving recorded in the history of the world.
Very nice location. Comfy room
Maltings - Second home. They live upto their Motto - A Home away from home.
Amazing campus with so much to do and lots of green space! The academic staff are amazing and the course is full of amazing opportunities
Good university. Not a lot of social events that are mixed cultured, but definitely good evening events
Love my campus. There’s everything there! Great atmosphere, and something for everyone :)
Perfect, everything is suitable
Good events Good accommodation
The event held by Gavin at maltings is so good, especially spin the wheel.
Maltings is the best a student can have during his/her program in uni. The customer service is the absolute best
Very nice campus, always something going on and somewhere to socialise
Excellent university with outstanding environment and very friendly teaching team I ever met thank you
Being an international student, I was very skeptical before coming here thinking about the culture, will the people accept me, what will I gain, how much will I gain and all sorts if thoughts conquered my brain. But the day I stepped in the university I realised that I was at the right place. University welcomed me with warm open arms assuring I enjoy each n every day of my uni life. The services, facilities, opportunities provided by the university makes me speechless.
I love the fact that it’s a campus based university, which means easier access to my classes and a closer student community. A wide variety of student clubs and events and a lot of experiences to be shared
Small but effective campus; the only thing is that cafes and eating places could be improved. The library and lakes are my favorite spots.
Not enough public space………………..
The university is good especially the Well-being team
Best decision was Essex as a student really enjoyed my times at university
The amenities at Host are top tier, they have everything you could need for your studies and ensure to keep you updated on any changes or issues.
Great university overall, enjoy the campus, facilities, and student support is amazing. Highly recommend!
Great experience with my university.
Although I dont have any major faults, I do find the SU, clubs and societies bias of age. As a mature student, I do not feel as included. Moreover, as a student studying nursing, I feel the campus facilities are only open within the normal term times and done cater for nursing students who are on shift for 12-13 hours a day. It would be great to come back to our campus, where some of us live, and get something from the shop or canteen out of the usual term times.
Its been great so far. The teachers are great and its a very educational experience.
Great staff but poor WiFi. Lovely buildings
Great rooms, common rooms often cleaned and it's great having access gym etc
Facilites and activities are ammazing
One of the best universities in the UK, really big campus and one of the best student union
Essex university is a great university, especially with sports science not only have they helped me practically, but also with life after university.
Good experience of studying All the experience is good
Amazing experience amazing people
The campus itself is ok, very expensive to buy anything on campus. The learning aspect is mediocre, with at times unreliable support networks.
Good university, great opportunities
It’s a great university, always something to do.
I’ve had a good experience overall
Colchester campus is the heart beat of the city. Great learning environment.
Absolutely loved my experience there
This is my second uni and I love essex uni so much. The social life is amazing with sub zero being the on campus club being open most days of the week. Sport is for everyone and a lot of my friends are my mates because I joined a sport. The accommodation is good. Campus is huge and so many options for things to do. Multiple restaurants on campus too. My course lectures are so good ( I do nursing ) and very supportive. I’m very happy at this uni :)
Good friendly university that has good facilities
Uni is nice many study spaces the lake is nice
The university has a wonderful scenery to explore or take in when studying or to hang out with friends. We also have the iconic pebbles, the campus cat. To see it roam around the campus is such a treat. Overall I found the students here to be sociable. When it comes to activities and verity of foods. It’s a little repetitive. This year it has stepped up with more options For food. The main variety of food comes when the market comes onto campus which is lovely. For the Activities on campus is a freestyle. Students have to show up onto campus, from there get to witness if theres anything on or nothing at all . The social media accounts are getting better at announcing what’s coming on, in the campus it self not much. Overall Essex has some unique quirks about it and is constantly changing to provide for the students.
Essex is a awesome university which is equally maintaining the ambience, environment, teaching facilities, services etc. They are very updating and friendly, without any racism or other other issues.
Good uni needs to update services a bit more
Social life is good, nice, library, gym and store, but the concept of FED is something I truly do not understand. I want to sleep in peace on Wednesdays
Outstanding university no doubts in that, especially computer science department
Nice looking university lots of events which are fun
Great accommodation for students - highly recommended!!!👍😁
It was good university Overall it was fine
The Wi-Fi signal is often poor. I wish the Wi-Fi could be fixed properly. I wish the lights would be brighter in the public areas.
Essex is good!Especially the lab!I mean all students can participant in some experiments, like decision making…and so on!So not only we can learn sth in the classroom,we also can learn sth outside the classroom.
The school is very beautiful, the teachers and staff are very friendly and enjoy the learning atmosphere here
Psychology department are really helpful
It’s a very good university. Totally satisfied
I love my school. I love my school. I love my school. I love my school. I love my school.
The University of Essex, a research university, is generally less stressful and offers a 2lb meal that is friendly to poorer students.
A great university overall, that's for sure! Great value of money in terms of facilities that it offers, especially teaching which is the most important.
I am very happy to study here. I got to know a lot of different classmates, and I had a good time with them. At the same time, I came into contact with friendly teachers, who always helped us with patience and care. The school environment and facilities are very good, I got a very good experience here.
Not much to complain about! Lots of spaces to study and just hang out.
The staff are helpful and approachable. Enjoyed my study there, especially the 24h library. The campus is not as huge so it's easy to walk from one side to the other. Map of the campus is provided on the website and app which is very convenient
The university is very good and the university flats are great, there is plenty of space to study in the university
It is good place to study in Uk.
Some of the departments need to work on their communication when students need support.
Having a great experience so far!
A really good sense of community!
University of Essex is good for business studies.
Lecturers are engaging and friendly. Not a great range of societies to engage with. Can be easy to feel isolated without much face-to-face learning.
Very welcoming and diverse environment for all. Really good educational method
Essex has been very helpful in all aspects. Friendly people willing to help you everywhere. The service is perfect.
so far ive had fun. nothing super exciting but its a nice place
Campus: sooo green! If you like plants, you will like the campus. I love the array of study spaces too. Many societies to choose from.
Best place to live and make friends.
