Good university but could do with some more societies x

I’m really enjoying my time at the university of Worcester. I wasn’t too sure how my experience would turn out but I haven’t met a single member of staff who wasn’t kind and understanding. The student union are actually engaged in the university and take on student feedback, so the events and other activities that they run are usually really well suited to most students and a great way to get to know people :)
I am about to go into my final year of University and I have absolutely loved it from the minute it entered its doors
Barely any issues with the university itself. Just the accommodation needs to be improved significantly especially for the price.
The University of Worcester resides in a quiet historical town and excels with its thoughtful lecturers. I enjoyed my time there.
Good university, do allow lessons to go late and aren't very accommodating with changing that even if you commute, would recommend if you live close.
Great uni, can tell they actually care about the students.
WiFi is very slow and is hard to connect to, facilities are great. Food is canteen is very average could be nicer. Student uni is good and cheap! I love the sports and societies they have so many to choose from I am a part of cheerleading. Communication through lockdown was awful, very hard to get in touch with tutors and lecturers.
Left in 2018 after completing my BA and MSC. As a mature student who lived off campus, I found the University very good, not all lecturers were great, but All were helpful, you could ask them questions at all times of day or night especially around assignment time, most answered promptly. The facilities and Internet were fine never had any problems, IT staff were brillent. Only complaint would be food choices in business school, although it was located in the centre of Worcester so food choices all around.
It's such a nice uin and mental health services/ support are amazing. Such a lovely community
The most friendly Uni I have gone to. I transferred directly from a uni in the north and I have never settled in so quickly especially not knowing anyone!
Good Wifi city Campus can be a bit dead
Everything is okay and to be expected. The internet and I.t department is absolutely god awful to the max. I have e-mailed them almost every two weeks for a year regarding the bad internet. They ignore it and simply respond saying it's fixed despite their still being an issue. I have reported the same issue for A YEAR The accomodation team ignored my e-mail about being reimbursed due to poor internet and not having a washing machine for two weeks and no water for 3 days. Pathetic. Not to mention the union awards were £25 for a ticket alone which is a joke, considering every social is told 'they're nominated as best social of the year'
The university has many nice sites. There are mangey clubs and societies to choose from. The student union are always happy to help and there is also a shop for weekly shopping. Wifi was good when it worked.
wifi goes down all the time. sole page doesn't work most of the time. feedbacks you get from tutors are ridiculous, confusing and usually do not make sense at all. campus is allright if you do not mind pay massive money for it, i lived in avon campus paying 500 pounds a month (!!), did not have decent sleep so last 4 months i lived somewhere else but still had to pay for it. security doesnt really do their jobs properly around the campus, when you call them they sometimes do not even bother to come and check up on things. furnishing in halls at least where i stayed were very very old and basic, looking like from old orphanage. there are very good teachers but it is mostly exeption rather than rule. i studied business and wanted to quit in every year, even few months before end of third year. especially if you are international student wanting to study business - make yourself a favor and definitely choose different university!
great university, top facilities love it here
It's got everything I need, the students union doesn't have a massive club like a few other uni's. The society are great which you can have a great laugh if you join one.
Best Uni for science or nursing/ medical studies I transferred here after doing a year at Northampton and hated it as they had none of the values,support, efficiency and professionalism as Worcester Uni. I feel I can approach any lecturer without feeling stupid or less important than anyone as they are fair and really want to help you get the best out of your degree. Internet is brilliant they will let you know of any internet problems and will fix it ASAP having said that it can be slow in halls a certain times but I believe this has been fixed from the beginning of the year. The facilities are one of the best I've seen as they try to give students an array of experiences as skills to fit with their study. As for societies that depends on which one you join for example film club have been quite persistent and organised every week with things going on as have some of the sport societies, although the biology society I joined only had one guest speaker in the year and that was it.
wifi NEVER works. Students union isn't seen as the place to be.

Brilliant uni, probably depends on the course and how much you plan on using the student union but I've throughly enjoyed my time and the campus lecture halls and class rooms are decent, staff are lovely and they do have a lot of mini events on at the bar which are always fun!
It is such a varied university there are so many societies to join, from Harry Potter and Disney society, to the kayak, canoe and surf society. The internet is appalling as only certain places you can get good signal. There is so much to do you can go to the gym on campus, having lunch in the SU is my favourite thing to do especially in the summer. It is a small compact university which is lovely as it brings such home feeling to the campus. Unfortunately there isn't a library on campus and joined up with the rest of the city which is a pain at times and can be very frustrating if everyone wants a computer or the same book. You are constantly having job updates sent to you which is great and the careers advisor is so helpful.
Very good university, and Worcester is a lovely city. Some problems with gypsys this year though, and the wifi is normally not too bad, but can sometimes be naff and not available on any of the campuses.
the university is a part of a a great community and my course is wonderful with fantastic lecturers (for the most part) and wonderful drama technicians. i have excelled in areas i would never have explored if it weren't for this university and i thank the drama staff for helping me find my passion for technical theatre and special thanks to the technicians for helping me to progress within the field i am eternally grateful to worcester university
Frustrating when your lecturers don't even know what they're doing
The uni provides so much that is so helpful, I think my only problem is the wifi; I can't get a good signal from my room.
I love my university. It is friendly and has a positive atmosphere.
The university is really new, with a lot of new facilities and loads of study areas, it's got a gym, nice football pitches, basketball arenas, sports hall, it's a great sports university, it's also got a radio studio, a TV studio, iMacs, professional video cameras.
Good luck with the internet... And they didn't have a society we wanted, so we just made it instead. I hope we made a difference in making the clubs/societies better!
Nice university, the main campus is very safe, good places for revising, excellent sport facilities. Quite small however, not a large choice of shops near by (it's co-op or you walk into town which can be bit of a trek. If you don't have a car is best to have your shopping delivered)
Worcester University - The good, the bad and the butlins
1) Sole sometimes crashes- meaning assignment deadlines are extended 2) There are some great lecturers who will teach you valuable knowledge that would be impossible to find anywhere else (Dave Mycock, Mandy Newbold etc) 3) Sports Facilities - The Arena especially 4) Sports clubs and societies at the university are amazing. Range of sports and clubs for anyone from the traditional sports to the not so traditional! 5) Berrys
Cons?
Some people call the university 'Butlins' and it is sometimes with good reasons:
1) Sole page sometimes crashes - making it very difficult to upload assignments
2) Varsity clashing with assignment deadlines - need i say more.
3) Mark Piekarz
4) Some lecturers are TERRIBLE at sticking to assignment feedback dates
5) The research process module - compulsory for all 2nd year sports students and is the worst module you could ever imagine.
