i came as a international student and as long as i had to do too many paperwork, it’s been so good once i came here. i’ve had a pretty good experience so far.
Good place to study and the staff are lovely
Friendly and welcoming members of staff
good facilities and helpful staff
Good uni, lots of support and facilities. Wifi is bad though
I haven’t gone to RGU for long, but I have already fallen in love with the place. The staff are so lovely and kind (especially the receptionists in the main building, those ladies have been lifesavers). The lectures are fun, the library is incredible, the union are amazing and there is so much for everyone to do. The gym is completely free (though it isn’t really my thing) and there are so many societies to join. I am a 1st year law student, and I am so excited to continue here for the next few years. I am so glad I chose RGU. As an autistic student, I find the lecture/class style really works for me - everything is laid out plainly, and support is always available. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone :)
They have advertised a few things for people to get to know each other which is nice.
Rgu is an excellent university.
My experience has been 50/50 within the uni due to still being half online and half in person. The university has the facilities if any enquiries or support is needed. All areas of the university is nice looking and clean. Plenty food and communal areas.
The best uni, very accommodating
Overall great uni! Stunning campus. An amazing range of sports clubs and free sports memberships for students.
For me personally, this university so far has been really great for social sciences and social work. This feels like the place to be if that’s the sector you’re keen on going into.
I'm only just in first year but there doesn't seem to be much going on in campus, there's a free gym membership but the union is lacking, however the facilities are exceptional and the tutors are always there to help
The university is a very accommodating place
Everyone at RGU is super helpful! They are so kind and they literally make you feel like home! The services on campus is outstanding! The lecturers and student Union is here for us!
RGU is an incredible university, compared to where I come from (Malaysia).. Teachings, learning, environment and etc has reached me a lot. I gained so much experience and knowledge from my university and made me what I am today. It was a new experience and now I’m adapted to this environment and experience it’s hard to return back to the teachings in Malaysia. Moreover,. RGU Union has so many clubs and societies to be very interested on. A different level of engaging in both educational and social wise.
This place is amazing!! I love it so much staff are amazing and so close to my campus grays school of art.
As an engineering student the staff are really kind and deliver the content in a really efficient way the campus and facilities are top notch and I couldn't be more satisfied
Modern, very welcoming, a lot to get involved i
The lecturers are all very nice and keep the classes interesting and engaging, the seminars are very open and welcoming which helps build confidence. Some of the classes are difficult to get to but apart from that it's a very good uni.
Great uni, lots to do and plenty of support
I love it here! great place to study and am excited for another year here
The university is full of friendly and passionate staff, the support team is very high quality and the students (especially those on your course) are lovely and welcoming too. The uni has a great atmosphere which supports learning without feeling dull and there’s plenty good food and drink services.
Great space, well done and a inclusive space
Everything is great room is lovely and staff is amazing. It’s a little far from town
Great place to study with friendly staff
Robert Gordon University is a modern campus with a lot of things, experiences and facilities to offer.
I’m an architecture student so all of my classes are generally on the same floor so my experience of the campus is rather restricted but what I have seen is a massive campus, filled with friendly students and staff, with beautiful views onto the Forrest across the river, with many places to eat and a library several floors high.
RGU has brilliant facilities as the gym is currently free to use which is super handy as a student on a limited budgets. There are tons of clubs for every sport, hobby, religion and interest so you can easily find people with similar interests to you. All clubs are active on social media so they are easy to find, and the student union is always posting about events. As for studying, the library is open late and has several floors and there are also computer rooms throughout the university so finding a study space is never an issue. The uni also has prayer rooms for students who require them which is cool.
Campuses are all within walking distance of eachother. Good facilities
Currently doing my nursing at RGU, just finished my 1st year and can be really disorganised.
Good university. The courses are great. I study Law here and I am satisfied. The professors are great and the library is amazing.
i learned a lot from rgu, and it was a really nice friendly environment
The best university in Aberdeen. I'm enjoying my studies there.
My experience at RGU has been a beautiful one. The career services are amazing. I would definitely recommend the school to anyone.
Very helpful community, quick to address many of the problems and issues faced with new students. Teachers are very good too.
My experience has been going well so far as ana undergraduate at RGU.
Robert Gordon University has a vast discipline and great professors
The university offers a wide range of high-quality academic programs. Whether you're pursuing a degree in business, engineering, health sciences, or the arts, RGU offers diverse and comprehensive courses that cater to various interests and career paths. The faculty members, renowned in their respective fields, are dedicated and passionate about imparting knowledge to their students. Their expertise and guidance have been instrumental in shaping my academic journey. RGU's campus facilities are impressive and well-maintained. The modern classrooms, laboratories, and libraries are equipped with state-of-the-art resources, enabling students to engage in interactive learning experiences and conduct research effectively. The library resources are extensive, providing access to a wide range of academic literature, journals, and online databases. The university also offers dedicated study spaces, allowing students to collaborate and work on projects together.
My experience at Robert Gordon University has been excellent so far! The teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful, the campus is beautiful and the facilities are top-notch. The atmosphere is filled with positivity and motivation. I would highly recommend studying here!
We are having the best experience studying and gaining knowledge on campus. The faculty is really helpful, very insightful course module
I like RGU because of the tutorials we have, they’re very helpful to my study. Also a very nice conducive learning environment and there’s a lot of social activities to engage too.
Fantastic university! Staff are very kind and helpful. The university itself includes everything you need for education/leisure; RGU sport is also amazing.
Over all good, wifi temperamental to log in but once logged in is good, improvement could be made in the inclusion centre as little help was granted
Robert Gordon University is a university with knowledgeable and experienced lecturers. They have up-to-date information and modern facilities that aid learning and help students to understand. They also have recreational facilities that you can use for recreational purposes.
The lecturers for my course are really supportive and helpful. Same for the reception staff if you ever need to ask a question. The food is amazing!
Overall, very good uni . Heaps of societies and the inclusion team is so helpful . Would say though my school , within the uni need to act more on student feedback .
A nice educational center with teachable tutors and staffs.
It a good school, good teachers and quite expensive but not bad
Rgu is a very good uni and helpful
My initial thoughts about coming to RGU have most definitely exceeded my expectations, now half way through my undergraduate degree. I have been highly impressed with the additional support teaching staff provide to students and the dedication they have to ensuring that we get the most out of our learning experience. Something that makes RGU unique as a university in Scotland is the emphasis on the practical skills aspect of our learning and developing our skills and practical applications of our learning to prepare us for the workplace. The university as a whole creates a social and welcoming environment to students and emphasises the importance of the social aspect of university, with an immense range of extracurricular activities to get involved in and I think as students, it is great to see that the university values our needs out with our learning and taking time to relax and escape from the stresses that studying can bring at times.
Great school, great and supportive teachers
Hi My experience at my university Robert Gordon University has been interesting and a bit stressful.
It's a really good school located in the heart of Aberdeen, highly recommend it.
Excellent lectures and amazing environment to thrive....good support system also made available to international students
If you are studying Health Sciences I have never regretted my choice to study at RGU. If I have to be picky my course has been beyond challenging, adjustments could be made to better support mental health and inclusion. The campus is a fresh and modern home-from-home with lots of events occurring throughout the semester (e.g. the bike race), there are lots of events for sports and the majority of clubs welcome all levels. The support on offer to students varies depending on your applicability but at least for my course I have been supported through placements, volunteering and job opportunities that you can't get at another university. There is a high employment success rate and my course is within the highest ranking in the UK! I feel lucky to study a competitive course here, yes there are things I would improve but I still believe RGU has given me lifelong experiences that I would not gain anywhere else. I would not change a thing about applying here!
Good university,really good course!
Based on my experience, RGU is a top modern university in Scotland with a friendly environment and excellent, spacious facilities with open computers, that provide you with a great place to excel in your studies and future career. The staff is very supportive, reassuring and helpful all the time which makes for a pleasurable learning experience.
Best university there is 🤗🤗, accommodating, and beautiful environment, lecturers are quite accommodating and understanding, it’s been great studying there, am having the best of time so far
Very good University campus, provide enough supports that you need for study and student are free to use the gym without membership fee.
nice place, parking can be a nightmare especially if you don’t have a permit
Great campus, good teaching and good opportunities for fiture development.
Rgu overall is a great university but lacks a proper student union and outdoor sports facilities for rugby/football
A beautiful campus that I enjoy going to everyday, however at the art school we are very far away from main items in campus and could maybe do with something else closer to us
Very good university overall. There’s a wide variety of services available to students. And always able to get help through ASKRGU
Beautiful campus, good facilities, lecturers are friendly and approachable
RGU has a very friendly environment with lots of student support. It has a modern campus with great facilities.
I like how they make student life easy.
Good university. Has a variety of students
Robert Gordon is an excellent university. The campus is full of modern buildings, each one is different from each other. There is plenty of options for food on campus. There is great facilities such as the gym and swimming pool. The university is very accessible with buses running frequently. The university offers plenty of opportunities to join societies and clubs with all interests covered
There were too many people on my course which amounted to low attention to student needs and lack of diversity. As a masters student myself he university didn’t care about student family life by requiring us to be at the university premises four days in a week. Information is not tailored and sometimes to vague that the important information get lost in between too many information, I.e online students emails isn’t separate from on campus email which means there’s sometimes contradictory information.
It is a digital institute helping those who want to pursue a career in a dynamic market.
RGU has been great at facilitating work even when having to adapt to covid rules. The staff are always approachable and nice
overall a good experience, some things are not as organised as expected from a Gray’s, and could help with more guidance and advice. Many facilities and workshops at the art school however.
Great campus, modern and bright, lovely staff and many social clubs to join
A pleasant enough experience. Being early post pandemic times though, I think quantity of students and revenue ranged higher than quality of learning experience for the university.
Very great academic environment
A spacious university with many facilities that can fit any person. A variety of open computers to work on and a study environment that anyone can relax on.
The university is very good but the gap between services for domestic students on placement and international is really wide.
RGU has a decent size gym and staff is helpful there. Admissions staff could be improved as they are typically 3-5 business days to respond which can be frustrating
I would say that the clubs do not feel welcoming and people who study at RGU seem very imperious.
Thought I may have made a mistake but it proved me wrong
Rgu is one of the best universities in Scotland it has a very friendly learning environment and lots of facilities that could be able to help you excel in your career
Postgraduate Law Student - 2022 to 2023 Some lecturers are great, very informative and always willing to help. But the odd 1 or 2 are pretty useless and have little to zero communication with the class. The admin support from the Law School is quite bad. Poor response time (if they even respond) and they usually try to palm you off with a generic response rather than actually looking in to the issue. As a whole, I would have reservations about undertaking another course at RGU due to the lack of admin support
Great uni and friendly faces. The Lectures are so enjoyable and interactive
Great university with excellent new facilities and student support accessible at all times. Every teacher/lecturer I've encountered has been quite kind and helpful. Computer Science facilities are of top quality, making for a pleasurable learning experience.
Really nice looking as well as great facilities. Always have somewhere to go for a quiet time
I have no complaints so far. It’s a lovely place to be
Student friendly community and professional teachers with multitude of experience in their relevant field. Top college overall.
My experience at RGU was good due to the course content and structure, helpful staff members, placement options and teaching facilities. However, there needs to be many improvements in terms of bringing students together through social spaces and events (RGU Union) as well as bringing life into both the Garthdee area and Aberdeen. There are hardly any shops, restaurants and enjoyable activities making student life very lifeless and uneventful. It is extremely difficult to secure PAID part-time jobs in Aberdeen as most opportunities are voluntary. I had to use my own savings and was under extreme financial stress (not much funding for students from England either). The Student Ambassador scheme also pays very little. Locals in Aberdeen are unfriendly and stare at you weirdly if you are from a different background or speak in an english accent. This was quite unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Overall, RGU did offer a lot mainly in terms of my course (MSc Digital Marketing).
A good university with state of the art facilities. University team always willing to offer assistance.
Great university with modern new facility’s, help always available if needed. Every teacher/lecturer I’ve met have been very friendly and helpful. Engineering facility’s are very high spec and new, making it a very enjoyable good learning experience
Fun gaming hall at uni, not a lot of information about the websites and facilities for new RGU students though.
Modern facilities, helpful staff, loads of great lecturers! We could benefit from more learning spaces across campus and food outlets.
it is quite convenient to get to the university. teachers are conscientious and friendly. They always help as much as they can. I have a good experience there.
Perfect experience in Roberts Gordon University.
So far my experience at university has been very positive and I cannot think of how it could be better.
Very good course, practical and teaches you real world stuff not just all theory
A very good university in Aberdeen. It also ranks in top 5 schools in Scotland with respect to its gold standard in teaching
This is the Ryanair of universities: they know their strategic position, and don't nearly have the facilities to meet demand. The true test of reviews are when something goes wrong. RGU is bureaucratic and officious, though polite. The academic staff are unable and unwilling to help when procedures don't work. One lecturer said to the class "I am just an academic and it's not my job to help". The union is sympathetic but unwilling to challenge broken procedures. The university is unwilling to take personal circumstance at all. If you are confident nothing will go wrong, it's fine enough (I received straight A's) however class sizes are enormous so there is no real ability to discuss anything in tutorials. One of my colleagues was even allowed to join the course four weeks from the deadlines, when it was impossible to catch-up. Rack 'em and stack 'em. Due to the awful service, I now have to leave my programme and transfer to another university or find a job. Very dissatisfied
