I've been living here for a month. The overall living experience has been great. My room is much bigger than I expected and on sunny days the sunlight comes right in, which is nice. It is also very close to the school and it only takes 10 minutes to walk to class. Although it is a bit far from the city center, there are many supermarkets nearby such as Tesco Coop, so it is very convenient to buy daily necessities and food, so I am very happy with the location of the apartment. I was very happy with the location of the apartment. The staff was very helpful, although I had a problem with the bathroom sink and it took about a week for them to come and fix it, they were very careful in checking other places that could easily break. All in all, it was a great experience living here and I would recommend it to my friends.

Everything actually is 5 stars. Very good value for the money. I speak to lots of people at uni staying in other accommodations and student rooste is always the better option for a better price, location and room. I’m in a bronze room i love it. Perfect size and the layout of my room is so nice and i love the huge desk. Perfect accommodation for any student. I’m in first year but i would definitely stay again!!

I like living at the Student Roost on Pittodrie Street as the location is really great with being very close to the university and not too far from shops and the city centre. The staff working here are really sweet and will help with any issue or even just for a chat, plus they host many different events every month. The flats themselves are pretty nice too, along with the social spaces and facilities. I can't recommend Pittodrie Street enough!

The apartment is better than expected! The location is very convenient and the surrounding facilities are complete. The room is clean and tidy, with a reasonable layout. Staying at Pittodrie Street has been nothing short of perfect! The location is ideal, just a stone's throw away from Aberdeen city center, making it easy to explore everything the city has to offer. Despite its proximity to the city, the area is peaceful and perfect for relaxing. The accommodation itself is modern, exceptionally clean, and well-designed. My room was spacious, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including high-speed WiFi, which was a huge plus for working remotely. The communal spaces are fantastic for socializing and winding down after a busy day. What truly sets Pittodrie Street apart, though, is the incredible staff. They’re always ready to assist with anything, providing prompt and friendly service that made me feel right at home. I am absolutely thrilled with my new student accommodation at student roost! The moment I walked in, I was impressed by how helpful and supportive the staff are making sure all needs were met. I fell in love with the spacious shared living area that feels perfect for both relaxing and socialising and the bedrooms are fitted with amazing pressure in the showers and great space to relax or complete assignments. The communal area down stairs is a real highlight, featuring comfortable seating and a vibrant atmosphere where you can easily meet new friends with a range of activities such as darts, table football, pool, a cinema room and so much more. The games room adds an extra layer of fun. It’s a fantastic place to unwind after classes or challenge your mates to a friendly competition.If staying at student roost you also have the convenience of having a bus stop just around the corner which makes getting around a breeze. The location is unbeatable—just a ten-minute walk to the University of Aberdeen campus and a quick three to five-minute walk to the university gym, making it super convenient for both studying and staying active. One of the standout features is the fantastic games room —perfect for unwinding after a long day or hanging out with friends. And if you're in the mood for a movie night, the cinema room is an absolute treat! It's like having a private theatre right at your doorstep, perfect for relaxing with fellow students. Plus, Big Manny's Pizza, a local favourite, is right down the street and offers some of the best pizza in town! And for football fans, having Pittodrie Stadium nearby adds to the unique character of the area. The buzz on match days is something you have to experience. It’s the perfect distance for walking to the university of Aberdeen (around a ten minute walk), there is also a small shop nearby that’s really handy. There is regular busses to take you into town and take you home again, and walking into town is also possible. The staff are really friendly and always happy to help with any questions or issues! I needed a plug socket changed and it was sorted within a few hours. The staff also put on activities during the week, this really helped me get to know my flat mates especially during the first week. Me and my flatmates did a golden ticket hunt and won! Staff always make an effort to say hello and ask how we are, they couldn’t be more friendly. The social area is also really good for meeting other people in the building as it’s usually always busy with people playing games, everyone is really friendly and welcoming. The WiFi is great and I’ve had no issues, I can add up to 6 devices which is plenty for me. The property is always clean.

The price of the property in comparison to other accommodations appears higher however this reflects the standard of the property and it is definitely worth paying to live in a friendly, welcoming and safe environment. It is located very central being only a 5 minute walk from both the university and the beach and also so close to the city centre. The staff are exceptional and always make an effort to chat to students. They will never pass without saying hello or having a smile on their faces. The property is always kept clean to the highest standard. The social spaces are a great area to meet new people or play games with friends. The property also host a range of events to get people meeting and chatting. My favourite events are the golden tickets and the breakfast club! The free wifi is great and I have never had any issues with it. The only thing the property could benefit from is adding a gym.

Maintenance are so friendly and helpful, if there is any problems they cannot sort straight away they keep you up to date with when it will get sorted. I have never felt like an inconvenience when reporting problems and appreciate how quickly problems are sorted. Social areas are clean and social activities are held regularly to interact with other flats. Reception staff are always friendly and greet you when arriving. Only thing I would like within this accommodation is a gym, an area with basic gym equipment and the opportunity to be able to gain knowledge from gym partnerships would be ideal and could easily encourage more people to this accommodation. Breakfast clubs are taken place but could be held more.

Really enjoy living in Pittodrie! Some things that stick out to me: The 24/7 manned reception is very handy, I haven’t heard of this being available anywhere else in Aberdeen. On occasion I have locked my key in my room by accident and I know that in other places they charge up to £80 to be let back in after hours, this doesn’t happen at Pittodrie! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Any issues I’ve had with clogged drains or broken shower etc resolved mostly on the same day, which wouldn’t happen in a private let and the maintenance staff are always very friendly and helpful. I see cleaning staff around the building most days keeping social areas and corridors fresh! Lovely rooms, fantastic size with plenty storage. Kitchen has most of the essentials! One minor potential improvement could be the mattresses. However, I would absolutely recommend Pittodrie to any student! Located very close to the Old Aberdeen campus and on a regular bus route. The best I’ve seen in Aberdeen!!

Excellent staff! Everyone’s so friendly and really makes an effort to help you feel at home. Facilities are modern and in great condition. The social spaces are always tidy and they have amazing social nights such as movies, quizzes and therapet sessions with snacks. The location is great for university students as it’s right beside the school but also has bus routes into the busy centre. I’ve found this property to feel very safe and secure with things like post being kept at reception with a well set up system to collect them.

Stayed with student for two years now and couldn’t recommended a better place to stay while at university. Friendly, welcoming and lovely staff who make you feel at home. International first-year here, and Student Roost Pittodrie Street is amazing! Finding a welcoming place was tough, but Roost exceeded expectations. Great facilities (love the rooftop!), but the best part is the community. Inclusive social spaces and fun events (Paws Against Stress with therapy dogs is awesome!) helped me make friends quickly, even outside my course. Only here for a year, but these memories will last a lifetime. More than a room, it's a home away from home!

Extremely good accommodation in pretty much every regard. Currently in my second year of living here and looking to stay next year as well. Rooms/flat are good value for money, facilities on site are all wonderful, wifi is extremely fast and stable, staff are all friendly and hardworking and the accommodation is only a 15 minute walk away from UoA.

I’d like to say a special thank you in particular to Malgorzata, Ross, Vinny, and the maintenance man with moustache (Cam I believe his name is!). All have been extremely helpful throughout my stay so far at Student Roost Pittodrie Street. Cleaning staff are also brilliant and lovely. Always a friendly greeting from them at the desk and around the building, and even when they are dealing with contractors etc just outside the building. I would recommend taking over someone’s previous tenancy as I got my place for £30 cheaper per week as opposed to normal price for a Bronze En-Suite. However, the original price is a deal anyway as all bills are included and reduces hassle of ‘adult life’! The fire alarm test goes off at 10am every Thursday which is my only peeve 🤣. However it is reassuring that safety measures are taken seriously. Thank you guys for your fab customer service and efficiency - it is so appreciated 👍🏼✌🏼

I've lived here for almost two academic years now and I am planning on staying for a third. The staff are lovely and it's always nice and clean. There's very regularly activities to do with people in the building which is great for making friends and being social. I'd highly recommend this student accommodation as it's comfortable, a good environment and I've made some of my closest friends from living here!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at the Student Roost accommodation on Pittodrie Street. They make me feel at home and safe despite being so far away from my home in North America. When I come down to the reception, I have always been greeted with genuine smiles. Manda and Cam have been the two that I have chatted with the most and I am glad I have. They have given me tips on Aberdeen and suggested great places to see while I'm here. Their activities are always fun and when I miss one I am happy to find out that another is just around the corner. Some of the best care goes into the flats by the maintenance staff despite it being short term accommodation to some. This has helped me feel like the place is truly worth what you pay. I don't think I have ever had a more phenomenal building staff in all my years of student life.

If you value your sanity DO NOT LIVE HERE. I cannot express enough how horrible the fire alarm system is. It goes off every single day (*NOT COUNTING THE WEEKLY TESTING*). I have lived here for two years- it was so bad the first year that about 20 different people complained; staff said it would be fixed during the summer break, so I rebooked because things aren't bad and its pretty close to uni. THINGS HAVE GOTTEN WORSE. When earlier it would go off every week, it now goes off every single day, sometimes at 3-4am (during exam week). Nobody comes out even when the fire alarm has been blaring for 5 minutes because we all know its not an actual threat- this is no longer the fault of the students, it is solely the fault of the poor management for neglecting a massively complained-about issue. Also, they harass you about rent if you're even a day late- excuse me for having responsibilities. They will send out false emails about your rent being late even if you paid it weeks in advance.

The cost of pittodrie street this year is extortionate and the quality and up keep of the building has gone down hill as well. This is my third year staying here and I don’t think I will be staying here again as the cost so big and the upkeep and staff and not as good. Considering how much we pay and we have a faulty oven and fridge we had to buy our own toaster and put coffee table is near enough unusable as it is so sticky. I am currently looking for other accommodation as certain members of staff are extremely rude to me and my flat mates and the cost it too large.

The team are super friendly and always happy to help. The place is kept really clean and maintained. The wifi can be slow and will kick you off at peak season due to majority of the building using it at once. It’s a 20 minute walk to union square so a little further away from town compared to other uni accommodation but is walking distance to Aberdeen Uni.

My time in Pittodrie was amazing, I love how close to the city center I was and how if I ever forgot my keys I never had to worry about being locked out. The staff here are great! They help me out when I need and offered a lot of help when I was injured. Events they hold are great (especially the dog event). I always enjoy my chats with Manda, they also make sure I am okay and make my day! I do really recommend living here you are less than 15 minutes from the university. It’s the best when waking up late.
Amazing place for Freshers or international students
There can be occasional issues with WiFi but the wired Ethernet is always good. The social space is good but some chairs are a bit wobbly and the pool cues sometimes aren’t there or broken. As well the tv sound didn’t work for me in our social area. Overall, pretty quiet and good no major complaints.
There’s amazing staff 24/7 that’s there when you need them like Richie and the senior operation manager is such a delight but the the people at reception like Manda and Nats who are honestly most easy and approachable people to talk to when there’s issue or if you need advice but it makes living away a lot easier with such and amazing support of staff there when you need them most. Honestly interms of student accommodations it doesn’t get as better than this also if you appreciate sleep or getting ready and running late to class you’ll normally won’t be by the proximity from campus.

Definitely one of the nicer student accommodations. Staff are superb and so welcoming and have remained so through out my stay. Friends at other accommodations are jealous when they come to visit! Right next to a tesco and only a 15 min walk from town. Excellent value for money

If you enjoy the sound of a fire alarm going off almost daily this is the place for you. With a seemingly useless maintenance team who do nothing if you report something is wrong. Also I hope if you do choose to stay here you’re allocated nice flatmates, and not the a**holes I’m stuck with who slam the very heavy fire doors because no one ever taught them manners. I’d recommend sleeping in your car over this place, it’s expensive and just not worth it. I was so excited to move in but all it’s been is one extremely expensive disappointment.

I find student roost as a complete and perfect package for any strident looking to have a serene environment and peace of mind throughout his studies and yet have the opportunity to blend with entertainment and socializing with others; either residents or non-residents as the place seems to be reference for all curriculum and non-curriculum activities. Customer service is exceptionary remarkable; all the time I have been treated and responded to, upon request for any need or assistance with such urgency that makes me feel I am most prioritized but this is actually the case for all residents. Without any hesitation, I shall therefore commend Student Roost for any student! Cheers!!

Can’t reccomend this place enough! Feels like a proper home and the staff and reception are very good at helping with that, always chatting to cara and Ellis and just feeling very homely and welcome all the time. The actual rooms and kitchen are amazing and so good for the money, as are the social spaces which were a great way of meeting people when first moved here.

Student roost is a really good accommodation and it is really safe. It has a awesome social area with pingpong tables and pool tables and a tv room and a ps4 console for those who want to play. Its roofs are amazing in both buildings. And most importantly the rooms are really good and new. The employees in student roost are really nice and sweet people. Overall its a 5/5 for me except for the internet it is a 4/5.

Great value for money, everything you need is there! And it’s immaculate, the place is always being cleaned. The location is great, 7 minute walk to the uni, 10 mins to the beach and 15 into town. The social spaces are also great with places to study as well as places to socialise. The previous reviews about the staff being rude are clearly dated, as there is not one rude, arrogant or sarcastic member there! All members of reception, the maintenance team, nightshift and the managers are all lovely! And as well as always being up for a chat are very helpful. There is someone at the desk 24/7 and if they are helping another student there is a mobile number to call if need be. They have also been helpful during the covid 19 pandemic and there is the opportunity to cancel your tenancy due to the pandemic if needed. 100% the best student accommodation in Aberdeen, I would never book anywhere else and will be staying again next year!

The place was great for the price. The reception staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. I think they provided a great service. The rooms are also really nice and provide a lot of space for personal items. There were two things that annoyed me a lot: the everyday fire alarm (which eventually was fixed with the sensitivity of the system, however, I never once set it off, so I dont think it was the staff’s fault but the students’...), the other thing is the cleaning service at the flat, the cleaning staff would only clean the microwave and leave a note to congratulate that we have left the kitchen clean (seriously?! No it was not. Even if it was, they still need to go through the whole kitchen if paid to clean) I would understand given Covid-19 circumstances they wont come in but even before that there wasn’t any difference... I had to clean before every meal that I prepare. The common areas tho outside the flat were cleaned. Apart from that I don’t have any other complaints.

My experience with StudentRoost was quite pleasant. The room and the bathroom are quite comfortable and modern. And the staff is super friendly and helpful with anything you need. In addition, throughout the year they organized things like breakfast and game night, which was a plus. The downside of my stay was that my roommates didn't clean the kitchen after using it so it was almost always super dirty and I had to clean it before I could cook. And also being in block B I didn't have access to block A. Thus, I had to either wait for someone to come out so I could get in or call the front desk so they could open the door for me

The only thing good about this place is the location. Everything else was very poor. Do not stay here if you appreciate sleep as music blasted through the building until early hours of the morning most days and the fire alarms went of constantly. The staff's only way of dealing with it was to give us cheap sweets. The walls are ridiculously thin as you could here everything that happens in the flat and for a new building they had a lot of contractors round. At one point they had to remove the doors and replaced them and by doing so the paint around the doors were ripped off. They never gave a specific time to when the contractors would need to be in your room so you would have to be up at a certain time in the morning for multiple says in the week until they got to your room. They're very slow to fix somethings as at one point someone had kicked a hole in a wall and it took a month for them to fill it and even then you could still tell where the hole was.
Covid-19: Very poor because even though they updated their cancellation policy you still had to pay for months you didn't stay there for.

Zero complains living here after a not so perfect stay with a different provider last year. The building is always immaculate with friendly staff in reception - especially Kirsten who is always great when I’m in the mood for a yap. Gutted to be moving away this year or I’d stay forever!

Manager is rude, arrogant and sarcastic. She is a seriously unpleasant person who really should learn what the word sympathy actually means. How dare she treat this situation as something unimportant and expect us to still remain in that building which is disgusting and unclean most of the time. I'll be glad not to hear that fire alarm every single day too!

Student Roost in Aberdeen - never booking again, horrible staff This is not a good accommodation at all, the alarm keeps going off and disrupting the residents all the time. Was horrible especially during exam session. The staff couldn’t even professionally handle the situation, instead they apologized by giving the residents candy. The staff is so unhelpful and don’t care whatsoever about the residents wellbeing or mental health. Would absolutely NOT advise people to live here. Also experienced the staff to be racially discriminating towards the residents. There is an unprofessional environment, I noticed the staff talking badly about the residents.

Good social spaces, shame the experience is ruined by the rude and ignorant management. The reception is advertised as open 24/7 but you'll be lucky if its open or the staff aren't away on break when you go to ask a question. Staff are desperate to get you to book for next year its annoying and they ask in a patronising manner, why would anyone want to rebook to live somewhere they can't control how often the fire alarm goes off, its basically every day how are you supposed to study and prepare for exams??

The staff here are lovely, Cara, Lisaa, SJ, Claire and Lindsay, Kirsten and Mitch are all very friendly and helpful. Overall I would highly recommend Student Roost Pittodrie Street if you are considering studying at the Univerity of Aberdeen.

In answering this net promoter score for Pittodrie Street, Cara, Chloe, Kirsten, Lindsay and Lisa are all very helpful in any needs you may have and it’s particularly useful that reception is covered by a Duty Manager twenty four hours a day. Maintenance by Lindsay is carried out professionally very quickly. She will see you the next working day or even quicker! The only downfall is the other residents are singularly insular which is a lonely atmosphere.

Would not recommend living here, lots of social space but they never bother to do anything with it, staff dont speak to you, make it seem like its a problem when you ask a question

Good value for money and great location

We agree that our location is fantastic - only a seven (ish!) minute walk to the University of Aberdeen, a short walk to the college and two minute walk to the bus stop for RGU. We are also ideally loctated for the city centre shops, restaurants and the lively nightlife that Aberdeen has to offer. We always strive to be sensible with our pricing so that you get the most reasonably priced rooms possible

Really enjoy living here! All of the staff is lovely, really go out of their way to help! Lindsay, the caretaker, is especially lovely! She even fixed my hair straighteners that I broke the other day. :))

Student Roost is the best student accommodation I've lived in, best value for money especially for what's offered and provided, the staff are amazing and so great to talk to, especially Eilidh the girl that runs the night shifts, super chill to hang with, she's got mad vibes. But all in all the rooms are amazing, the service is great and fast, the team/staff are amazing and friendly.

DO NOT stay here if you care about sleep and your university studies. Fire alarm CONSTANTLY goes off, doesn’t matter what time. Staff are doing absolutely nothing. Hope one day it isn’t a real fire. Any issues while you are staying here, go high up, as this is absolutely pathetic. Thanks a lot!

Our on site and head office teams have been working hard to find a solution to our fire alarms which keeps you all safe, which is our ultimate priority. I am happy to say that yesterday, an adjustment was made to our fire alarm system which should ensure the alarms are activated less often
Horrendous place to stay, think long & hard about wether you want woken multiple times of night by the fire alarm and then to be greeted by an on-site management team that frankly couldn't care less about how it makes you feel. The only two good things being the staff who work tirelessly despite poor leadership & the WIFI connection

Do not stay here! Fire alarm goes off every day and often multiple times during the night! Phone calls constantly cut off because of no signal. Also the deals which are offered are not always followed through! Still waiting on £200 voucher (which was a large part of my reason for booking) that was supposed to be given months ago.

- Fire alarm goes off constantly - Staff confidentiality is very bad and often 'gossip' or share personal student information - Unhelpful of any issues such as faults etc - Female manager is the most helpful for any issues and is very professional

Quite an unclean environment to live in, fire alarms go off constantly, the manager Kirstin is quite patronising in her tone and gives the impression she doesn't really care. Seems to be fake in her concern. I'll not be staying here for another year after this term.

Pittodrie street Student Roost is an amazing student accommodation to live in. The staff are available for contact at all times, the events calender is popping and the social are makes you feel las though you are at home. The staff member Chloe is especially helpful, friendly and caring towards all students. I couldn't have chosen a better place to live this year.
