All in all I’ve spent 3 full years here in a studio room and I can say ive had an amazing experience and I have met some great people. It’s very close to the university (5 min walk to the uni) and the housekeeping staff always keep the place clean. The reception team is very friendly and always willing to help and it’s managed by Aimar who always goes above and beyond for the students here.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Never got any response to any of my emails to the reception/ my room was not clean when I moved in/ washing machines are disgusting
Definitely way too expensive for what it offers, could do a better job with cleaning too.
I have stayed in Dorset house this year and I will be rebooking for next year. It is a great location and the staff are very friendly. Shout out to Ranila, Abhay and Aimar

It took a months to change a light bulb in the bathroom. That was annoying me.
Dorset house has been a great place to stay and very convenient for me to get to university as it is a 10 minute walk. The people are friendly and the staff are great. I have stayed here for 3 years and by far the best staff has been Aimar. He always helps me out and works very to make sure everyone is happy.
Living in dorset this year has been a struggle. I have had so many maintenance issues it’s been a genuine nightmare. But since aimar started working he’s the only member of staff who has tried to help me and got my issues fixed.
I’ve really enjoyed my stay at Dorset house, I’ve made some great memories but my stay would not have been complete without Aimar. He is the best management by far and ALWAYS tries to find a solution for all of the students here. We are very grateful and hopefully Aimar will be here for the following semester.
It’s a very decent place to reside and it’s in a great accessible location
I stayed from end of april to end of june and the apartment was dirty. My room has not been even cleaned, it was just as the previous roommate left it, hopefully quite well but not clean
Overall great. However it wouldnt be a nice experience without a welcoming reception. Especially a staff member that goes by the name Aimar. He helped me very quickly and efficiently when I faced problems or had questions!
Only good thing is location. Complained about broken door to block numerous times and nothing done, found homeless people sleeping in hallway and still they won’t fix. People working reception are useless and cleaning is poor. Can’t wait to leave.
Nice accommodation but maintenance basically doesn’t exist.
Thank you foryour review and feedback we are sorry you felt this way about maitenance I will feed this back to our team.
