Really nice accommodation with social space and events ran throughout the year. The team are lovely and always happy to help with anything you need, maintenance issues have been responded to promptly! The location is great, the bus stop is right outside, so is on the main bus route to Man Met and UoM which makes things much easier. It does feel like a safe environment to be in, lots of other students in the area and the key system works really well. The negatives of this accommodation are very minimal, I'd say it is on the expensive side although compared to other accommodations in the area, I'd say it is still really good value, especially due to the quality of the rooms (all ensuite!), area and how helpful the team is. Also, in terms of social experience, whether you gel with your flat is of course down to chance at any student accommodation. However at Allen Court you still have the opportunity to meet people at the social events which is great, especially for those in studios.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Paper thin walls. Students screaming and blasting music throughout the night so if you plan on staying here, be prepared to get insomnia. Silverfish everywhere. Many things are cracked/broken e.g. the kitchen table and sink. If you like the rubbish taken out, be prepared to do it all yourself as getting through to anyone is impossible- everyone is fine with living like tramps. Tiny toilet space if you’re at the end of the building. Maintenance takes forever. Over priced. Social space/cinema room missing TV and proper pool cues. WiFi really slow. Emails constantly ignored. Decent bed size though.
Bathrooms are really up to date and the rooms are functional.
I feel comfortable living here. The environment is good and clean which made me feel better. Only a little bit far away uni.
lovely staff, always very friendly and eager to help, Liam has been great with fixing any issues that have come up. However, a £54 charge to be let in to your own living space that you’re paying hundreds of pounds a month for, is frankly extortionate. There needs to be a better system in place, not only does it make it harder for it to feel at home, if someone gets locked outside at night without their phone they could be in serious trouble.
i think allen court really good 、quiet and safe
Wouldn’t recommend - bad amenities and incredibly overpriced. Mould issues and sewage issues means bad health even if you don’t have allergies. Go elsewhere.
The room is really comfortable, all the staff are nice and helpful, most importantly is that it’s located perfectly and the surrounding area is nice as well.
Very good location, but management could be improved
The accomodation is really good and located in a student area which is a plus point. The grocery stores are just 10-15 minutes walking distance which is great! The rooms sizes are really spacious and with nice windows and fresh air flowing in. The onsite maintenance team is wonderful, kind and very helpful. They are prompt to respond to any issues that might arise with the room or appliances. The accomodation is located at just 2 minutes walk from the bus stop which makes it really easy to get to university. The only down to the accomodation is the small laundry room, but I haven't ever faced any issues with not getting a free machine to use. Would surely recommend this accomodation to future students.
Good location right next to 2 parks, shops and bars
Everything is good I recommend it
I’ve stayed at Allen court for my 2nd year and current third year. My experience so far has been good. Staff are always nice and welcoming. Facilities available are always good. The other residents are always nice. This year the staff have done well with planning social events. I would recommend this accommodation to other people. The only downside is the rent but I guess due to location it is expected. And the lock out fee is ridiculous If im being honest. I would say it would be useful to consider getting a lift but I doubt it is possible. The stairs take you out each time.
ok okokokok ok okokokokok okokokok ok okokokok
Allen Court is a good halls of residence, the staff are always amazing when it comes to any request. They are the reason this halls is deserving of the review it's got. Pros: Adjacency to major road into the university and general proximity to the city and other major hubs for student life. The staff are the best staff I've dealt with in the various places I've stayed in my student life. Rooms are comfortable and a good size for any of the room sizes and the en-suit is a nice addition to have. Social Spaces given are nice to be in and well kept. Cons: Although the social space is nice, they are small for the number of students here. The laundry facilities are far too small 3 washers and driers for all the students here (at least 150) Accessibility for the disabled will be an issue if this is something for you, there are no lifts and each building has at least one step to enter the building. Although what you get is good, it is expensive.
I am a third year studio and this is probably the best accomodation I have lived in so far, the studios are really cosy, great management and a fast maintenance team. I like the location, it’s nice and quiet, close to all the food and shopping places and also not so far from uni.
good living and comfy. Great location
Liam is the best maintenance man. The room is really nice and spacious. Everything is quite tidy.
Accommodation is really great!! Perfectly located opposite two bus stops. The rooms are perfectly sized, never had a problem with my heating/water but if there is a problem it is usually resolved within 24hours. Workers Ally and Liam are very welcoming and always eager to help you out with anything. Only downside is that theres only 3 washing machines and 3 dryers for the entire accom but hopefully this will also be resolved soon. Overall really great accom, highly recommend.

Lovely staff, the place is in a nice area and the studio are a good size
Good location and staff are helpful. Rooms/bathrooms are a good size. Prices increasing but still cheaper than most places
Location is pretty nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Only gripe is wash and dry for laundry is a little pricy. Great accommodation though
Prices are unfortunately continually increasing causing it to be a struggle to afford. Going up again each year
Great place to stay when studying. Good value for money. Management is great! Liam the maintenance man is always so helpful!
It’s been great so far besides the wifi going down sometimes it’s overall been really good. The management are great. Ally always helped to get my things sorted she’s a really nice individual. Liam is also great at getting maintenance done pretty fast and a great individual overall really nice to speak to and not only are the staff really helpful they also provide a lot of mental health support and will make you a tea or coffee and you can sit and speak to them as long as you want to.
The staff are all incredibly helpful and kind.
The flat is in a great location with good surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff the internet work very fast and the connectivity is also very nice
Great location, uni very close and frequent buses with bus stops less than a minute away. Studio very cosy, spent two years in mine. Lucy, Brendan and Patsy are absolutely lovely and always very helpful with any issues, thank you very much!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your fantastic review. We’re delighted that you have enjoyed your stay with us at Mansion Point. Our on-site hospitality team really do go that extra mile to make you feel welcome and offer the support when you need it. We hope that you attended the on site events which we planned throughout the year giving you the opportunity to meet your fellow residents. We wish you all the best in your future career, many thanks The Mansion Student team.
The hospitality team and the receptionists are the KINDEST Of all!! they are so welcoming friendly approachable and always try their best to help the residents in any possible way.
I’ve really enjoyed my stay at Mansion point. The workers are lovely and very helpful. During the holidays the reception always has some fun activities for us to do. Maintenance team attend to your problems very fast and it’s easy to report damaged things through the app. I love my room, it looks exactly like the pictures. It’s been easy meeting new people here and would say I’ve made some long term friends here. The location is great. It’s next to the university halls, the gym and walking distance from curry mile. Nearly all the restaurants on delivero and Uber eats deliver here for those who don’t like cooking. Also not far from Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Lidil. Platt fields park is just opposite the accommodation and in the summer it’s lit. A lot of buses pass by on the main road so getting to university or work is easy. Would highly recommend living here.
Really comfortable place located between Curry Mile and Fallowfield. Surrounded by parks and like minded students. My time here was cut short due to Covid restrictions etc, however the staff are incredibly welcoming and approachable. After it recently went through major renovation, most of the teething issues have been resolved to which Brendan and Patsey do a great job and work hard to maintain. Lucy is also great with any enquiries and information you may have or need. You can expect the occasional fire alarm and social noise that comes with all student accommodation. Just don't forget your key, the external out of hours security team will sting you for any call-outs.
It’s a really lovely accommodation, they could do with another fridge for a full flat of 9 people. The staff are so lovely and caring and really do make an effort and leave little treats like chocolates and coke and little freebies out for easter and Christmas and even exams. They could do with more washing machines and dryers and you have to clean yourself. I was unaware that they don’t provide you with a microwave, toaster and kettle, although some university students do leave them behind.I am really happy with my accommodation and it is a very homely feeling although you are away from home. I would definitely recommend and Lucy,Brendan and Patty are honestly the sweetest staff i have ever met, very easy to talk to and incredibly easy to get on well with. The accommodation is in a prime location for a 1st university student and you don’t feel as though you are missing out being in a private accommodation.Shops are in walking distance and the kitchen and bedroom are well sprayed.
I am very satisfied with my experience at Mansion Point. I booked a classic studio and moved in on September 29th, 2020. The studio looks exactly like the pictures on the website. Although I arrived late on my check-in day, I was greeted by a Resident Student Warden who made sure I had everything I needed for my check-in. My flat is very suitable for studying online. I've been here for 8 months and I have not needed maintenance at all except for a minor blinder situation that was handled immediately by the maintenance team. CCTV cameras are everywhere. The accommodation is nicely located within walkable distance to Uni, and very very close to bus stops. The management team is extremely welcoming and always here for help when needed. They receive parcels on our behalf and provide sweets and goodies during celebrations (Christmas, Easter...). As an international student, I feel very safe here, I highly recommend booking with them, it's worth every penny in my opinion. Safae.
