Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Have had a very supportive environment and great events on site
The signal was very poor, often no reception on the fourth floor.
very clean and convenient but it dont have staff during weekends
Nice location, quick response, spavcious rooms Overall a good accommodation
I had a fantastic experience staying at this student accommodation! From the moment I moved in, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, making my daily life convenient and enjoyable. The balcony though interconnected gives access to good amount of fresh air and sunlight. The staff is always friendly and ready to assist with any questions or concerns. I also made great friends with fellow residents, which added to the overall positive atmosphere. I highly recommend this accommodation for any student looking for a supportive and vibrant living environment .
An affordable accommodation near the campus

Nice 2 bedroom flat, very suitable to live with close friend. The kitchen is massive and ventilated , the receptionist are nice and welcome
They've got balcony access in every room, there's no common room, the toilets are low-flow (usually have to flush 3 times), got all the basic stuff you need in student accommodation, the double bed's creaky (it's ok I guess), the stick-on hangars in my bedroom and the bathroom have all but fallen off, they've got electric stoves, one of the shelves in the kitchen is broken, the shower gets cold after 5 minutes if two people use it in a row, they've got a gym, washer and dryer, the largest bin bags don't fit the bin in the kitchen, the bathroom and kitchen are always hot, uhh I can't think of anything else but that's my experience
Halls were very small and isolating many people had bad experiences. Six to one kitchen is too many when that small not enough space. - was at FCH but system didn’t have it so deleted hardwick
