Grenville Street is conveniently located within walking distance of LIPA, the University of Liverpool, and LJMU. You’ll be minutes away from Liverpool's city centre, with plenty of shops, nightlife spots, parks, and the canal on your doorstep.

What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

This accommodation had been perfect for me !!! i have hardly ever had any problems and when i have i’ve just told the front and they fixed it for me, i was really lucky to get lovely flatmates and it’s the perfect place to have people round. i will recommend this place to people because i have loved it!
I really loved staying here for my first year of uni at Liverpool, Grenville Street is really close to the centre of town and my uni so everything is easily accessible. The staff here are lovely and always happy to help (any reported issues usually get fixed within 24 hours.) There is a social room with a pool table and darts board, but not many people use it. The kitchens are fairly spacious with a nice living space and loads of storage. The rooms are really nice with everything you need (except the showers don't have a curtain.

i had a tricky experience in 1st year and the start of 2nd year and the staff (sasha and mccauley especially) helped me so much. they got me moved into a new flat really quickly and they check up on my wellbeing daily.

Grenville Street, Liverpool, has been an amazing accommodation to stay in for the past 5 months. It is so central and has everything you could wish for on its doorstep. The atmosphere is homely, with its cosy and clean corridors and social activities that take place. The staff here go above and beyond day in, day out, to make you feel welcomed and safe. Overall it is a genuinely great accommodation to live in!
Amazing staff who will go above and beyond in any way they can help, always decorating for festivals/holidays and hosting socials. Someone always says hello when you're walking in and maintenance are always ready to help. However when work needs to be outsourced to others in the company service is lacking and jobs take way too long.

I am living at Grenville for the full three years of my degree so obviously I’m very happy with it. The place is looked after, kept clean, and staff are very friendly and helpful when you go to them directly. Could be better at addressing issues brought up through the maintenance requests on the website and by email as in terms of access sometimes coming to reception is a little intimidating. The common room is nice but pool table has been damaged all year meaning it can’t really be used. Would be nice to have some more modern books and board games or a way to hook the tv to our Netflix or laptops to use as a film night space. There are sometimes social events but I haven’t attended any personally. The free stuff at reception during events is a lovely touch. Never had problems getting my parcels but sometimes it’s annoying we don’t get emails that something has arrived (e.g. if family are sending a little gift as a pick me up I would never know.) we got emails early last year but not n
My experience with Grenville street has been really good, the reception staff are always lovely and will help with anything. The flats themselves are really nice and if there’s anything wrong maintenance are always keen to help.
The best part was that the staff were always friendly and willing to help with whatever was needed.

Daytime staff in particular are lovely and helpful, the rooms are very cosy and maintenance is very quick. Our oven broke and it was immediately replaced the next morning. Lots of storage and surfaces to display things and the location is perfect!

My experience living in Grenville Street South has so far been amazing with such a warm and friendly environment whilst being away from home. With many opportunities to meet new friends as well as being so close to town there is plenty of opportunity to socialise and meet new people in town.

Grenville Street feels really homely and reception are so friendly and helpful. It’s a 10 minute walk to Liverpool One so a perfect distance but still quiet at night as it’s tucked away. Any problems I’ve had, have been resolved straight away. I would recommend Grenville Street to friends.
I have lived in grenville now for 2 years and it has always been exceptional. the staff are so friendly and always help to the highest level. Value for money is incredible and the location is great as it takes me no more than 10 minutes to walk to my university and 5 minutes walk to city centre. Very very good for first years, brilliant socialising, lovely staff. Only problem is there are a substantial amount of water problems. For example, heating and warm water. However it was resolved within a week.

really good experience at grenville, made some really good friends. The staff are all the best, and always feel safe with 24hour security. Rooms and bathrooms are nice and defiently worth the money for ensuit and double bed. Location is very central with just being outside of China town.

Wish it had a gym but great value for money, it’s a great place but it got more pricey this year if it goes any higher I wouldn’t be able to afford it anymore. So hopefully it stays 160/pw

As a new student to the city of liverpool i think this accommodation is in the perfect location, a short walk to the centre of the city and a short walk to my place of study. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and as a resident you feel comfortable speaking to them about any issues you may have. During the first week activities were held in the communal area allowing students from different flats to mingle and make new friends, i think this is an important part of university and having the accommodation organise events for us really helped people settle in. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone interested in studying in liverpool as my whole experience since moving in has been perfect.

It’s a great apartment in a great location in Liverpool. Just a little far away from the campus and there are no buses to the university of Liverpool or john moores so if it rains heavily it’s not a great walk to campus (20 minutes to UofLiverpool). I wish there were more bus routes but I love the apartment and location too much, I would 100% recommend to anyone.

Great value for money, I was so surprised at the size of the bedrooms and kitchen/ living area! The staff are lovely, always so friendly and say hello to you when they see you! Also always have freebies at the desk and decorate for the holidays. Location is really good, especially for nights out as it’s a 5 min walk, also very close to Liverpool One and a few shops. Transport access is great as when I have to travel to the airport there’s a bus stop 5 mins away.

Staff were really lovely, room was nice, desk space was excellent. Only issue I had was the shower wasnt great as there was no door and occasionally silverfish but otherwise pretty good.

Pros: • Excellent staff. Always kind and outgoing to make it a lovely place to live. Macauley is the bright, welcoming and always there to help. He’s especially very approachable and always has a smile on his face. • Loved the advent calendar at christmas and the gifts at the desk throughout the year. • Rooms are very spacious and was cleaned superbly when moving in. • Fantastic location for shopping, getting food and very close to concert square so these made student life very easy. Cons: • I found the utilities in the flat rather outdated, unclean or minimum. Such as the fridge having a strange smell when moving in, the oven being very unclean and an abundance of hair and food in the sink which we had to clean out when moving in. • Despite the staff being a great help, our window in the kitchen was broken from when we moved in, and was never fixed throughout the year. • The bald security guy wouldn’t give me my delivery, and wouldn’t check. Found he was lazy + unhelpful
The location in great for the price because it’s quiet but still central, everything you might need is within walking distance. The staff are lovely and very helpful, especially the maintenance staff. They remember people by name and always strike up a conversation when you walk by. Definitely staying for another year😊

The accommodation loacation is the best, quiet and helpful for studying. However, students can affect that due to the walls of the rooms being thin and you can hear most conversations from the room next to you which is a little irritating. Most of the staff are friendly. Overall, it’s the location that makes it so good, easy to get to class and not to far from the city centre.
I have lived at Grenville street for 2 years. My experience here has been exceptional, the Accommodation manger Joanne and assistant manager Abi are always happy to help with literally anything they always go above and beyond. They will always have time for you and the caretakers and the rest of the team are really helpful and are always fast to resolve any maintenance issues. Rooms are spacious and the courtyard is a nice feature to the building, it gives a perfect view of the sunset. The price is affordable and in my experience the best value for money in the area. I cannot thank Joanne and Abi enough! 5 stars!

My experience living here over the past year has been great. Everyone on the team are friendly and very helpful and make everyone feel welcome which is great when it's your first time living away from home. If there ever was an issue they're all more than happy to help and if anything was broken they'd come and fix it straight away.

Lovely clean accomadation, 10 minutes from everything central in liverpool! You cannot beat it! Only downside is you have to pay for washing and drying which is a pain considering you're paying 121 a week but in considering all other accomadation does the same it's not so much a hassle as the accomadation itself if really nice
