Moorfield Biography
A short ten-minute walk from the city centre is where you can find Moorfield. Within the city centre, you can explore the many bars, shops and restaurants. You also have easy access to Ropewalks, Liverpool’s World Museum, Central Library and the Avril Robarts Library. Both the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moore University are a twenty-minute walk away, making your commute to class quick and easy. If you are studying SAE Liverpool you’re in luck as the campus is only a five-minute walk away.
When wanting to socialise with friends and neighbours, you can enjoy the outdoor social space and common area that is equipped with comfortable seating, a TV room, a pool table and even a quiet area that you can use to get some classwork done. If you have your own car, then you’re in luck, as there is car parking available, but hurry as space is limited.
Moorfield offers students cosy en-suite rooms. Inside your room, you can find a study desk, storage space and en-suite bathroom. Outside your room is where you can find the shared kitchen and living space that is equipped with everything you need.

Thanks for getting in touch! Typically students share in a 4 or 5-bed flat. If you're applying to LJMU to study, we place all first years together, as they have specific flats allocated to them. Hope this helps!

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

The overall experience is okay, there is regular emails sent out keeping you updated. When putting in a maintenance request it is either sorted as soon as possible or you will be waiting for a long time. Another thing is that with there being a smoking area people don’t stick to it and just smoke everywhere so as a person that leaves there window open for ventilation I get the constant smell of smoke. But over all the staff members are lovely people and I feel like I can go to talk to them.

I think the rooms are okay, you cannot complain. WiFi is amazing and super fast. The heating is good although turns off quickly. The maintainence is amazing and fast and solve problems quickly. There is a constant issue with drug dealers and people doing drugs outside and in rooms which leads to a smell. The kitchens are okay. Naomi is great staff, super helpful and polite :)

I’ve lived in this property for 4 years and over that period the team have been exceptional! Lauren, Naomi and Frank make living here feel like a second home! Theresa always keeps the social spaces clean and is always there for the students if we ever need to talk! The team are amazing!!

No complaints, shower wasn’t working when i first arrived, however, this was resolved and fixed within a day of reporting. Overall cleanliness and maintenance is at a high standard. Social spaces are inviting and spacious.

Honestly there’s allot I could say about this place. My experience was overall okay. One thing I can say is the photos on here are extremely misleading and the place looks nothing like it. The rooms are extremely dull and walls are yellow. People can see directly into ur window to the point I was lying in bed and people in other rooms could wave at me. The rooms and hallways are tiny and not worth the money. Bathrooms moldy. It is antisocial as there was drug dealers in the stairwell and constant weed smell in the hallways outside the buildings and sometimes leaking into your flat. Kitchen looks nothing like pictures and when we came it was dirty. The location of this place is amazing as it’s a 10 minute walk from town and near all university buildings. Parking is extortionate extremely expensive (1,300£) and cramped and only 15 or so spots. So don’t recommend if you need to park. Good things I can say are the staff here are lovely and super helpful. Other than the maintenance staff.

Lovely experience here. Everything you need is within a 10-minute walk. All problems have been resolved to satisfaction. Special shout out to Naomi for holding amazing conversations, being encouraging especially during the exam period, and providing honest feedback for my experimental baking.

The cleaner Theresa is nice. Communal area is great actually often empty. They occasionally serve free food and things which is always a plus. Location is great, super close to the city campus and the city centre.

I’ve been staying at Moorfield since September and all I have received is great service. The workers at the reception desk are brilliant, especially Lauren I, every time I have came to the reception she has helped with every enquiry I have had and helped me. They offer tea, coffee and hot chocolate and I always go and have a little chatter with them, and they’re lovely and very friendly. The accommodation is in a perfect location because it’s a 10 min walk from the city and close to my campus. Also, I had many parcels delivered and it got to a point were some got lost. The women helped me figure out where they were and I got them safely. They are lovely and I couldn’t ask for a better team to help me. But a huge thank you to Lauren I for always helping me when I needed it! She’s so lovely and always makes me feel welcome and at home

The worst accommodation I’ve ever lived in! Receptionists are unwelcoming and unprofessional. They don’t respond or act to any concerns of the students. They spend all day gossiping and eating and try to be available in the office for short hours as possible. They made my stay here miserable as they don’t care about students. It’s depressing. I was also given a room with minor damages and I reported the damages to the reception and was told it wont be replaced or fixed however at the end of the contract I was blamed for said damages and was charged even though I did not cause it. The male staff also does not knock on doors and goes into your room whenever he pleases without any warning. Definitely a breach of privacy but could not report is as he always says “I thought the room was empty” and receptionists could not give a fk. WiFi is also very slow. Do not believe what you see on their website as it is completely false advertisement. Very disappointing experience in Liberty Gardens.

It's clear that the positive reviews of these halls are old and relate to the old management. The current reception staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful and shoukd not be working with young people. Reception is not open often enough considering that a lot of student nurses who work shifts live here. There are also problems with bugs, especially ants, in a lot of flats on the ground floor, even when the rooms are kept spotless by residents. However, the cleaning and maintenance staff are lovely and I have no complaints about them at all, just a shame that they often go overlooked because of how horrible the reception and management staff are.

Lived here during my first year within University and absolutely hated it. I have never come across such rude and unprofessional staff. Basically, I reported that I was unhappy within my flat due to the group of girls I was placed with and even went as far as saying that I was a victim of bullying, but this was not followed up at all! Receptionist staff are rude and obnoxious, never there when needed. One in particular should not be dealing with young students, she is very confrontational and embarrassingly unprofessional in her duties as a 'receptionist'. WOULD NOT recommend living here at all mostly due to the horrible reception staff. Cleanliness of grounds are NOT acceptable, ants and insects are a unaddressed problem although has been reported numerous times. Overall, hated living here and spoke to various members of my course who have also have the same issues. GLAD TO BE GONE.

Wouldn’t recommend living here at all. The receptionist staff are awful and have nothing nice to say and rarely help you, they speak to you as if you are a child and try to restrict you from doing pretty much anything. Location is good but didn’t feel comfortable living here as there was always something negative for a few members of staff to say. The care taking team are all lovely and always up for a chat, the receptionists on the other hand have made my time in these halls awful. I was put with flat mates who were much older than me despite asking to be in another flat, these halls are one of the cheapest around but apart from the location, you don’t get what you pay for due to how unprofessional the staff can be. The wifi signal is rubbish and even though they’ve addressed this and said it’ll be fixed it’s still so poor, I wish I stayed somewhere else as this accommodation ruined my first year experience at university. Overall, not worth the price although it is cheap.

Lived in here for the past 2 years, wasn't too bad the first year as it had different management. 2nd year of living here it got worse - first of all wifi connection is very very poor (management do nothing to help you with this). Secondly, the tv in the communal area doesn't have BBC1 and the signal strength/ connection is extremely poor, can hardly even watch the tv (have emailed reception numerous times about this but nothing has been done shock). Rooms are what are to be expected for the price. However when we moved in the sofa was disgusting and ruined, markings and things stuck to the wall, my friends shower was actually black with dirt. Also curfew on one of the gates so u can't leave after 9pm through that gate. Vacuum provided but does not work, and when asked if it can be fixed we receive no help. Ordered a parcel a few weeks ago and they had had it all along and told me it wasn't there. Very bad service from reception team. very quiet halls not much going.

I've lived in student halls for all the years of my university education and this has been the worst. The staff are not helpful- you have to remind them multiple times to get things done. Their record keeping is poor, especially rent payment records. The ensuites have poor lay-out and the shower flow is awful! There aren't enough drawers for the desk. All the appliances in the kitchen are of poor quality (like the TV and oven). And no matter, what we do, the carpet has an awful smell. One advantage is that each flat has its own vacuum cleaner. The location (in the city centre) is convenient, but parking is tricky. With the postcode, it is impossible to get a parking permit without restrictions. Moreover, they will not allow cars into their compound, even if your parents want to visit you. Overall, it's cheaper than other halls in the area, but you have to pay a price.

Love living here - always someone around if you need help! Internet a little slow at times but it's just been updated so we will see... All cleaning of flats done by whoever lives there so it's personal preference on how clean you want it! But communal areas like stairs and hallways are clean! Amazing location a short walk to the station, library, town, takeaways, supermarkets, pubs, lecture halls, doctors!

I love living here, the location is perfect as you are close to the shops, nightclubs and city campus. The library is just across the road. There is 24 hour security so you always feel safe. The rooms are nice considering the price, we all have ensuites and a nice kitchen area, but I have visited Liberty prospect point where the rooms are much nicer and more modern.

Extremely good value for money compared to other halls, the common space is very homely and room size is generous. The location is also spot on for the price.
