I had a very exhausting trip, which is why I was more than happy to be welcomed by the lovely Hannah. She helped me carry all my belongings to my flat and explained everything clearly to me. When I went back the next day I was welcomed by Caroline with a big smile and a very friendly attitude, the more I talked with her the more I liked her. She helped me figure out my problem and made me feel very delighted, im happy to have her here at the reception. Her services have always been done with hospitality and laughter. You have a really great reception team!

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

When I needed a very affordable accommodation castle court was one of the options and it really helped me finding the best options and plans
Caroline is the best receptionist
Great social place and very nice helpful management team
It’s been a good experience, the people are a bit to themselves , the staff are friendly and welcoming
Decent accommodation for the price charged. Good location.
Overall it was an ok experience, I would have loved a bit more space and the lift was hardly working and I lived on the 8th floor, so grocery shopping days were difficult.
I have loved it here and always had so much help all the time from Caroline at reception
Castle court is great and Caroline has always been helpful
The place is quiet close to university and town. I have enjoyed my stay as the receptionist Caroline has helped a lot with me settling in properly

Amazing staff nice and polite. Also can be a friendly environment.
I had a great experience, Caroline is also great in reception.
Good accommodation close to campus (DMU) without being on campus good facilities staff are helpful especially Caroline
It is a really good accommodation with absolutely everything that you’d need. Everything runs smoothly and I don’t have any complaints. I like it here!
Amazing caring staff especially Caroline
nervous coming at first, but then i met Caroline the great and she helped me settle in with no problems. she is very lively and friendly and always has a smile on her face which creates a nice, welcoming environment and my parents are happy that she is at reception and so i am safe. would rebook just because of caroline.
Yes castle court is really good, the staff is really good especially Caroline, when I’m in reception she lights up the room. She made me fit into Leicetser straight away. She’s also a good mentor
The staff is phenomenal especially Caroline. She is always pleasant to talk to and swift to resolve all issues you have.
Caroline the receptionist is super friendly and nice .She immediately sorts out problems
It’s been very well. The receptionist (Caroline) has a great relationship with students. Very sociable, and stands out as well as Jacob.
nice people and place, i love caroline
Staff are very helpful and accommodating especially Caroline who always makes students feel welcome no matter what the issue is.
Caroline has made my castle court experience welcoming and great
Lovely staff and have enjoyed living here, only thing that could be better is if it was clean when I moved in!
Jheeze, James && Caroline are great
Caroline and James are so lovely and helpful. Excellent service.
Eagle, Caroline and Jack are amazing. Super friendly and welcoming.
Eglé and Caroline were really helpful and lovely.
Had a very good experience with one of the member of the staff team namely Egle. She has been very kind as well as helpful to me, whenever I was unsure about anything or needed any advice she assisted me with everything I needed.
Eglé is really nice and helps me a lot when I need it
Egle and Caroline at reception are amazing! Location is great, more events would be nice
Egle was so helpful. Also, the location is 10/10
It has been a good place to socialise and meet other students . Staff made me feel welcome , especially Caroline. Would definitely recommend
Good accomodation quick to fix any repairs needed bathrooms could be bigger
My 5 stars for the “Property Management” section is only for Egle, Nathan and Jack (the reception staff) they have been excellent this year, however, builders and other members of staff had a fair few rude moments. I’m never the type of person to complain as I usually just suck it up, but living in Castle Court this year has been awful. We had to have EVERY Appliance replaced as nothing worked (including my heater in my room in winter). Even though we got told that it was going to be “light/minor” building works before moving in, we were getting woken up at 7:30am every morning, including exam season, to my whole flat vibrating from the drilling and loud noises of the builders. This caused my valuable belongs to fall off my shelves and a nail has appeared through my wall. We got little to no sleep during this time. Verbally harassed by builders who made inappropriate and uncomfortable comments to us. Very poor communication between staff and builders. So much more but the work count.
5 stars for Egle, Nathan and Jack however the builders were rude and verbal harassing us and the people living here. Other members of your staff were rude telling me to "watch my attitude" when raising concerns, further another member of staff called me and my flatmate liars when we raised concerns about the building start time which was later proved to be correct from Nathan on our behalf Was told "light/minor building work" but was woke up at 7:30AM most mornings due to drilling. Mouldy shower, which wasn't fixed Cigarette smell which was never solved Appliance which none worked when we moved in Ceiling taken out, wasn't told about it Bubble wrap on floor Bedroom door lock still doesn't work, "just twist it harder" Massive rip in sofa Boiling hot constantly even with heating off, curtains closed Poor communication between staff and builders Had to sleep on sofa due to building noises but then kitchen started. We didjy sleep at all during exam week No light from windows due to scaf
Nathan was helpful. The accommodation was easily accessible and everything was up to standards. Egle and Jack was also helpful and they answered any questions perfectly.
Really quick maintenance team. The people working at reception are friendly and always willing to help. The accommodation is nice and close to the DMU campus and close to the shops in the city
Jack is always so kind and helpful. As all the staff are which has made me want to re book here. He has been extremely helpful in the process of rebooking and made it as easy and comfortable as possible.
Any problems I had were quickly sorted and there was always someone on hand to help. I always felt really safe there, the location was perfect for me and I would recommend the accom to someone else.
i was locked out as i left my key elsewhere went to reception Egle was amazing and extremely friendly!
Everyone at the desk in reception was super nice, especially Egle - always kind and really helpful!
Staff were amazing, Egle was very helpful and nice.
The staff are amazing and so friendly and are always there when you need to talk to someone.
I’ll love the staff especially egle
Definate value for money for locational & room quality (decent quality for low price) Staff are helpful & problems are resolved relatively quickly There are a few problems with maintenance however, with room & kitchen appliances being fixable, but sometimes led to faulting
Nice location, love the area around, very safe near the castle. Right next to the campus.
Perfect location being so close to town and to DMU, receptionist are lovely and helpful especially Nathan, always willing to give a helping hand no matter the issue and is actually interested in solving your problems!
It will be better if the bikes storage space is refurbished
I love living at castle court because the receptionists especially Nathan is so nice and kind. The money is worth it and I have made so many friends whilst living here
I am staying at castle court from the past 2 months and its been an amazing experience! The team is very helpful and always available.
it’s a very good accom for first year it taught me about independence and learning new skills
Castle Court has treated me decently enough, there have been few complications but these have been resolved in orderly fashion.
Been living in this accommodation for 2 years (going for 3rd) and I've been feeling well at home. The place is well accommodated, has everything I could need and it's flexible with my routine. The staff at the reception are always positive and pleasant to talk to. Egle is a frequent staff I chat with and has been a wonderful help with any queries I have and a wonderful support. A positive atmosphere all around. Would recommend it to a fellow student studying in Leicester
Great place to stay in during your study! Also amazing help from the receptionists.
Excellent staff members. Egle was a great help when I changed my accommodation to castle court.
Amazing place to live whilst studying at dmu
Had a few issues with deliveries and Egle on the staff team helped me sort it out and supported me through the issues :) Always a friendly face in reception a very kind team.
Amazing location and lovely staff. Wifi isn’t great and it is quite expensive but that is expected for the location it is.
I think that Castle Court is a good place to live however there are little things like the room was not necessarily 100% clean when I moved in and my electricity wasn’t working And I did have to go down twice to reception before anything was done about it
building works are making it quite difficult to like living here, and the office is closed a lot recently randomly throughout the day, which i think needs to be resolved
overall, its a nice experience to be here, staff is friendly and helpful.
Good space, and good kitchen, the people at the reception are excellent The hob in the kitchen is not great though
Castle court is a good place to live however some maintenance request take a while to be completed. The staff at reception are really helpful and friendly especially Jack, Nathan and Egle
I think Castle Court is good however in some circumstances it’s not the best such as when it comes to complaints like noise complaints and not a lot when it comes to maintenance however reception staff are lovely for example Jack Nathan and Egle
I love my time so far and the environment is very clean and well organised
Near to university, and I really like the staff mambers because they all are very helpful
It is a good accomodation. I enjoy staying here.
Fabulous accommodation, superbly fitted out with everything you would need for your stay.
I enjoy the kindness of the team, the size of the flats are okay (not all of them have the same distribution) and the cleading work is annoying
The staff are really helpful if anything is needed, always easy to pick up packages and staff at the front desk are really helpful especially egle she is lovely and welcoming, maintenance is so nice and when there’s been problems get fixed really easily would recommend staying here especially for first year
All good so far, other than the constant noise from builders
Really good location, lovely staff and services
Very good value, in a great location not that far from town
Good experience so far, the friends I have made have been mostly through living here which is nice because we can all hang out at each others flats without having to go too far. I love my flat mates and we have arranged to stay in the same rooms for next year. The staff are amazing especially Jack, Nathan and Egle - so friendly and they actually care about the problems. Not so happy that I booked a car park space and only 5 days before moving in was told that it would no longer be available due to construction (this was one of the main factors of me choosing castle court because I live three hours away and would have liked to keep my car here so that I do not have to pay hundreds of pounds for train tickets). Another thing I have not really enjoyed was having to wait so long for my maintenance issue to be fixed as it took over two and a half months for my shower to be fixed and I felt really uncomfortable having to go elsewhere to shower especially when I pay for an en-suite room.
nathan egle and yack are very helpful
I've had my fair share of issues at my time here. However the staff have been incredibly helpful, especially Jack and Egle. They have tried to help me every time I've had an issue and eventually it has been resolved.
They are very slow to answer any maintenance issues, barely any cleaning was done to the flat over the summer prior to new students moving in. Staff are slow to answer any problems. Reception is never open. Building works has been going on all year when it couldve been done in the summer holidays.
I enjoyed living here last year enough to return for my second year. It’s been different this time around with all the building works but thankfully not too disruptive
staff are always really friendly :)
The place is great but maintenance is hard to get a hold of and the building and scaffolding outside wakes me in the morning.
>> do not live here << the location is actually the only good part about this place and should get 5* but overall my experience living here was awful so it gets 1* for everything. it is infested with silverfish and apparently has been for years (in D, E and F block that I know of but likely in more areas). they refuse to exterminate the infestation fully, they just did my flat and obviously didn't solve the problem. they offered me a good will payment due to how long it took for them to actually act on this (6 months) even though they did very little and it had no impact. they have no intention of sorting this!! they also do not care about covid, many people had parties, many people got infected. they also assured us that they had cleaned all the rooms prior to our arrival but the inside of my wardrobe had some old used makeup brushes and something sticky on two shelves. there was also lots of mould in the bathroom and around the windows, this building clearly has damp issues too.
When I moved from my room during Covid they took all mine and my flat mates stuff from the kitchen even though my flat mate was still living there and we never got the stuff back. The old liberty court management were kind and always cared and they sent an email to say that there was money they owed to me from a deposit and from no longer living there. The new management have not given me this back, even though we have contacted them several times through emails and calls. We definitely won’t be getting back the money we’re owed. Do not recommend, especially with how much it now costs.
I'm very disappointed and frustrated with the managment. Concerning safety, its dangerous. The fire alarm often goes off in the night and with many false alarms. With the coronovirus, incredibly frustrated with their stingy, unhelpful reaction to accomodate as every other business is having to. We are all called home early to self isolate and they refuse any refunds whatsoever. Not impressed, and consider it criminal, robbing students of money they have no right to keep. I would heavily discourage anyone to book here, unless they sort out their contracts.
I currently pay £131 for a premium en suite room which i thought was an okay happy medium to pay as some accommodation's near are quite expensive however, Ive heard that these prices are going up (starting 2020 academic year) and I would not be happy paying that for what we get especially if you can get much better places for just a bit more. The bathroom doesn't feel clean even though i have cleaned it as soon as moved in and frequently since. I have had trouble with silverfish which i have found on the bathroom floor, sink and in the shower, and i know this is a problem across the whole accommodation. They have treated it yet i still find silverfish. The showers are rubbish, no water pressure whatsoever (feels okay when testing it with your hand but not when your actually under) and on occasions the temperature fluctuates from cold to boiling without even turning the dial. The wifi began good but more recently my phone would switch to 4G or my laptop cannot connect at all.
Great place for first year students. Place is well kept and staff are friendly. Decent living space and decor for what you are paying too.
Do not join here. I have friends who live independently who have recieve far more for their money. Work out how to pay bills and find a cheap flat. That's what being an adult is all about.
friendly, Mick the manager is amazing
don’t choose this place absolute waste of money at nearly £118 a week you’ll get poor management, rooms infested with silver fish (several people I know have) also damp rooms they won’t fix. They’ll interrogate you’re post delivered and apparently ‘track your internet footstep’ the wifi is horrific so if you’re a media or film student don’t think watching films will be easy! your roommates could likely be dirty resulting in a never clean kitchen, and also cameras everywhere 24/7 like you’re on big brother they don’t trust you, just want your money. And i’ve only been here for several months and they haven’t been good, only good part is the prime location near campus and the city probably the only reason people pick it.
Nice play to stay, safe and clean and in a great area handy for uni and town. Not the best atmosphere in terms of parties
Union State is probably the best place to stay at DMU!
Reception staff are very rude the guy and the girl chatting and smoking always outside the reception
great value for money compared to what else is on offer! Great if you study business or fashion as its less than a minutes walk away! always staffed maintenance office and fix problems within the day.
really expensive for very little
Definitely the best halls out of all of my coursemates. Very, very nice flats. No recycling though :/
moved into phase two flat.... had just a kettle and a fridge, oven didn't work for three days, then a blocked drain cause my whole room to be flooded with poop water and it took over 17 hours to get it sorted. wifi drops out every hour or two.
Lovely management, very comfortable accommodation - but no social events to help integrate, and no common area for meeting people - hence the 1*. If repairs needed doing they were usually prompt, and the maintenance team were very nice. There wasn't a cleaner either - we were responsible for our flats, which were inspected, but the maintenance and rest of the site are why I gave 3*.
So amazing, I didn't want to leave.
Nice place . Didnt get on with flatmates.
Really great place in an excellent location, and all the staff are brilliant.
Sometimes get little bugs in the bathroom, but so close to uni! Amazing price for an ensuite room with either single or double room! Staff are always happy to help and laundry prices are really good!
Victoria hall has amazing location not the most luxurious halls but does the job and is pretty good for the money you pay
Great staff and met some amazing people living here.
Very happy with Victoria Hall, good value for money, location is excellent and management are great.
