Great WiFi throughout my stay. Fantastic location especially for medical students being a 5 minute walk from Worsley. Variety of room types, I booked much later so I got a smaller room which I still had to pay more than my roomates. Had an incident where the toilet plumbing flooded my floor, for which it took them 2 weeks to fix. It was handled awfully. However they offered a £100 complimentary voucher for the situation. There is a cinema room, gym, laundry & bins facility, all are good. The cinema room is great but definitely need to upgrade their equipment as some wires have been damaged since moving in. Little events are help at Algernon, but rather held at hello students other sites. Little opportunity to meet anyone outside of your flat or studio. Friendly staff, and great help if using the hello students app. No standards provided e.g. hoover, kettle, toaster ect.

I had a wonderful time in algernon firth, especially simran helped me a lot. I remember she gave me the key to my apartment the first time we met and smiled at me every time when I picked up the delivery, which facilitated my apartment life a lot.

Simran has helped me from the start of my time here, being patient with all my questions to ensure I chose the room I felt most comfortable with and till now has been super helpful helping me find the best room for me next year and has been really caring about any concerns I've had! I loved my spacious room, has lots of storage which is very important for me as an international students as well as lots of natural light from the big windows!

The water pressure is my only issue, sometimes when showering the water pressure is abit low for me to enjoy my shower, other than this all good! simran is really helpful for my queries and all :)

An excellent accomodation for its suitable location to most Universities. Excellent service from the staff particularly Simran. She is always building good relationship and rapport with everybody making the place feel much like home. I will definitely recommend the accomodation because of her quick responsiveness to issues.

The location is really good - 15 min walk from the train station and 15 minute walk from the Merrion Centre so there’s good access to loads of different shops. Very easy and quick to access Uni of Leeds Worsley Building (shortcut through the hospital). The rooms and well maintained and any issues are easily reportable and handled well via the app. The app also makes it easy to ask any other general enquiries. Reception is also good with friendly staff - especially Simran who helps with EVERYTHING. She’s super friendly and easy to talk to so it makes the whole experience of living here a whole lot better! I’m glad to have got to know her and will miss her when I leave. Hope every who stays here gets to meet and appreciate Simran for being so amazing.

I was so skeptical about the stay when I first booked it online. I mean, I never expected it to turn out so good. I just love it here, you know. It feels like home. It's so calm and peaceful all the time. Everything's just so perfect here. It may be the lovely staff who doesn't get tired of your n number of queries and yeah I have to mention Simran. She's such a sweet and jovial person to talk to everytime. Me personally love the kitchen as it is so spacious with lots of windows lerting in loads of sunlight, which you'll absolutely be missing in the UK😂. So it's nice to get as much Vitamin D as possible🤭. PS: If anyone wants to about the facilities, there's hot water available time of the day. The water is clean as well. You can find yourself a cozy gym to workout anytime. And a lovely cinema room. And the rooms are spacious enough compared to other accommodations. And it feels safe. So yeah you don't have to give a second thought about booking this Accommodation.

I really like this accommodation, it’s a great value of money. Nice location, not far from the main places I need to go. The room is spacious. Everything is pretty good. The reception is good. Simran is nice, she helps me a lot. I met her many times when I was picking up parcels or need other help. She is helpful and kind. All in all, I would recommend this accommodation.

Hot water is constantly broken. Black mold growing everywhere and they are reluctant to do anything about it. Grows in the kitchen, windowsills, and shower. The hot water has been off for weeks at a time with no offer for compensation or solution. We are even urged not to use the hot water even though bills and hot water is inclusive of the price. The only benefit is the location but there are much better options and I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Thanks to the staff Shaun Wood at Algernon Firth, for being very patient, friendly and prompt in resolving the problem of my leaking toilet. My problem arose at the weekend and I thought the staff were on a break, to my surprise Shaun came to my room immediately to resolve the problem. Not only did he solve my problem perfectly, but he also patiently answered my questions about electricity safety. Thanks again to the professional and welcoming Shaun for everything you have done for me. I am very lucky to live at Algernon Firth and I have a great time here.

Good staff, good atmosphere. It's just that in the last half of the year there was too much work and renovation in this building, which affected the rest time and the clean and healthy environment.

I’d rate pathetic excuse of an accommodation a 1/5. It gets 1 star because of its close proximity to the medical school. The place smells disgusting and ruins everything you own with its oder (your clothes, your headphones, your bag.. your skin?! Everything!). Do not come here if you want to smell normal; I’ve tried every possible thing to get rid of the smell but nothing works. I pay nearly £9k a year for the smallest possible studio that was riddled with black mould when I arrived and has every crevice full of dirt and gunk. The Wi-Fi lags constantly. The entire building is maintained with the most minimal effort. The fridge/ freeze size take the mic. There’s no oven and the cooking hobs are so close together that you can’t cook more than 1 thing at a time. I could go on and on about the shortcomings of this money grab but I’ll call it a day here… TL;DR The place smells like crap, has poor facilities and is dirty but, yeah, it’s close to the medical school so there’s that.
Good budget and excellent location.
