The WIFI here is really terrible. I can't stand it. No matter what time of day it is, there are only two bars signal on average. What is even more frightening is that even the mobile network traffic in the room is very poor.
Accommodation is reasonable but can be better; the kitchen space can be worked on one refrigerator for six people, which is troublesome.
This is my second year staying here. The price increase from the first is totally unjustifiable. My experience this year has also been a lot more unpleasant than last with being in a flat with guys who frequently make me feel uncomfortable and this has overall put a damper on my experience. It isn’t the ideal place if ur looking for a sociable uni experience but the location is ideal.
Overall its a great accommodation, especially the location and management they're exceptional.
Great location in the city centre of Glasgow with excellent transport links to all the surrounding universities and colleges.
The property team really make it here. They are all so lovely and will help you with anything! I injured my knee and they were nothing but helpful. They will also have a lovely chat with you every time they see you.
The apartment is fantastic! It's well-designed, spacious, and in a great location. The amenities provided are top-notch and the management is always helpful and responsive. I'm really impressed with the quality and comfort of living here.
I have been with Fresh Living, Foundry Courtyard for almost 3 years now. I've been in the Bronze plus suite and Studio flat rooms, and have found both exceptionally well equipped for my life in Glasgow. The site staff are amazing with information, questions, and parcel handling no better team for a comfortable stay. I'm returning for my final year of university with them. The staff also put on special events, and do promotional freebie days with companies for the students all year round. This is the university accommodation to be at in the center of Glasgow.
Compared to my last accommodation, Foundry Courtyard was miles better, especially since my room felt more like a comfy, safe space than the prison cell I had last year. My only issues would be that the staff were very rarely friendly or happy when approached at reception, and there were some issues with a particular flatmate being very disruptive and loud at unsociable hours that took a while to be solved after multiple complaints from different flatmates.
Rude staff, they don’t reply to mails and they cheated on yeh promised refund.
It was a fun lively experience and I think foundry has given enough support to me in my journey as an overseas Master's student
Honestly it’s been incredibly poor. The recycling is shocking, there is only two bins for 219 flats and when asked there seems to be no plans to fix this. I was directed to another set of flats for food and glass recycling as if I don’t pay (quite a lot) to stay here. Upon arrival many of the flats were absolutely filthy (the room next to me had a s*** left in the toilet for months and my friends flat was covered in food pieces). There is a zero respect for privacy, upon a room inspection while I was out my radiator was removed from the wall and a drawer was left open. The fire alarm is fairly ridiculous, having stayed in Garnett halls last year where it went off once, it’s a regular occurrence here. Cannot collect post before 2pm which is fine but often the post isn’t sorted by then and you’re directed to come back later (have had post sit for weeks and not been given to me when asked for then miraculously appear outside my flat door). A flatmates Hello Fresh box was left to rot
The location and space for the accommodation is great. But the night staff is very unsatisfactory. No events, no fun activities and no tolerance towards the students living here, from the staff.
When I checked in my room needed couple of hours to get it cleaned. The wifi connection is unreliable with many disconnections for my mobile device, which isn't a problem for your pc if you use ethernet. The staff is friendly and polite and the location is very good.
I would strongly recommend this place, unless you are looking for a very social and party place.
The property itself is really great! Facilities & social spaces are all in order & clean. Good value in regard to what else is available in Glasgow. However, the management has been changing members and since September 2019 it has completely swapped out. The previous team used to be so accommodating and friendly. Now everything you ask of them gets you a cold "we can't do that". I understanding the pandemic has made it difficult & that they might be struggling a little financially but you're not going to get people to rebook if you're being this unfriendly.
None of the landlord BS, very professional no hassle experience. Day staff were friendly and helpful. Night staff can be unfriendly (one is one isn't), wasn't given any welcome info etc + overpriced (but huge) washers, would be good to have one in studios Didn't rate social experience or spaces as I didn't have or use them.
good value for what you pay compared to other similar priced accommodations nearby. Wifi is good but has caused some problems when been on zoom this year. The the rooms are very good but the kitchen space is quite small. The social aspect been pretty hard this year with COVID restrictions etc and security has been pretty strict on them. Big mix of age groups, nationalities and study level ive noticed though
I have a studio and it annoys me so much that the light and Dan stays on everytime I used the toilet. Especially in the middle of the night when I’m trying to sleep. The light doesn’t turn off until about 30mins or more.
The stuff is very helpful and nice, they usually take care of urgent problems really fast. One thing I didn't like were the heaters turning off every 2 hours.
All staff are lovely and very welcoming and accommodating. Love living here just not much social aspects with covid.
Stayign at foundry courtyard has been amazing, the staff are lovely and its an amazing value for money
Great staff, great location, the room are really good and so are the facilities. Would 100% recommend to anyone.
Great design and utilisation of space. Good internet service provider. Great location that is close to GCU, UoS, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the city centre. Great value for money compared to similar room options in nearby accommodations, with reference to space and shared facilities. I've been here for over two years and Foundry Courtyard is still the best choice for me. Friendly and helpful staff. Great Zero Tolerance Policy for smoking indoors and use of recreational substances. This accommodation has a user friendly booking interface that could be transformed by adding more options for bookers to choose from. My suggestion would be to include preference for the level of noise and cleanliness/tidiness (really, no offense). This would spare those who prefer a tidier and quieter environment reassurance when booking and would reduce complaints.
Mould in the room. Security come into the flats without permission. The price of the accommodation is still the same when you can’t use the services you pay for. Absolutely no free will to do what you want in your flat no mater the state of your mental health. The rooms are not cleaned before you move in
I can't begin to describe how much I have loved my time here so far! The reception team here genuinely make the living experience and they bend over backwards to not only accommodate you but make you feel like you have a family away from family. I was incredibly hesitant about living in student accommodation as I'm a mature student but I am so glad I made the decision to stay here. Locaton is perfect, the rooms are lovely, the social spaces are clean and accessible and we are regularly treated to gifts and sweets and when lockdown wasn't happening there was a free coffee bar every morning! I have seen some negative reviews and the only thing I feel I can say about them is that if people respected the rules we had such as no candles/open flames and no smoking in rooms then the fire alarms would be few and far between. Ultimately the building itself and the reception team are just spot on and its the best accommodation I could have asked for!
I had a fantastic stay at Foundry Courtyard. The front desk staff, the administrators, the cleaners and the maintenance guy were so friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were well furnished with a decent layout and the social spaces (gym, rec room, laundry, cinema room) were all extremely well taken care of and well furnished as well. It may come across a little more expensive but for the location, the amenities it is actually good value for money.
Studio apartments were disgusting upon arriving, we were promised that it would be ´deep-cleaned´and had heard other stories from a few other people. Constant fire-alarms waking you up in the middle of the night. Frequently without hot water, some staff nice, others seems to constantly make excuses.
The reception staff (and all staff) are the friendliest people you will meet, they are so welcoming, accomodating and are great at keeping in touch - they would organise parties and pizza nights and make such an effort to help people make friends. I lived in the bronze studio and it was definitely worth the money, the room is bright modern, tidy and has everything you need. The cleaning staff are amazing and do such a good job. The maintenance staff will make sure you have no problems with anything in your flat and will get things fixed quickly. The social spaces are fab if you have friends round or need somewhere to study. I genuinely felt at home staying at Foundry and I would recommend it to anyone!
Social room is very good with lots of fun options. Staff are also very nice and polite.
Staff are so friendly, rooms are great value for money and the location is perfect for my university. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Glasgow!
Very friendly staff. A home away from home
Living here currently and absolutely loving it. The rooms and social spaces are amazing and the people are so lovely and friendly. So glad I picked here
Evening times are very noisey staff are friendly but building could do with a makeover
Incredibly friendly staff always trying to organise events and meet people. Everyone was lovely and the entire place was very well maintained. They're also adding new facilities and added a quiet study room during my stay, so they're definetly improving
Noise is a big problem.social spaces always have people play music very loudly, people who living in the first floor can hear the sound
Very good quality rooms in a great location.
Good place to live for a student but not without its issues.
Choosing Foundry Courtyard as my accommodation hostel has been one of the best decisions I made since I got to Glasgow. The warm reception, friendly management team, clean environment, organised events both educational and fun has been a wow experience! Foundry courtyard is really a home away from home
Really enjoyed staying at foundry courtyard. The staff were so nice and helpful. The halls are a bit pricier than others but so so worth paying that bit extra. The building was clean and secure with someone always at reception to greet you. All around a lovely place to stay.
Sometimes it was noisy during the nights. Overall a great stay.
Enjoyed my time thoroughly, staff were kind and very helpful. Would book again.
Foundry is a good place. I really enjoyed my stay there ! The staff is nice and helpful and there are all the facilities you need.
My experience was absolutely great! Whenever I had a problem everyone was eager to help me solve it, every time I went back after a day out I was always greated and I was really amazed by the dedication in remembering all the names of the students! The social activities organized nearly every week were really various so that everyone could enjoy them. I would definitely recommend it
Excellent management Bathroom ventilators cannot be turned off manually Kitchen cleaning should be freely available at the price we pay. Better study areas
I spent at the Foundry a whole year in a studio flat and that was an incredible experience!! Perfect location to reach the city centre in 5 minutes walk, quiet, but also lots of supermarkets, kebabs, and nice places to eat out. All the staff is extremely caring and nice, lots of activities organised by the same Foundry to keep students active and increase opportunities to socialise (such as bringing an ice cream van during summer time or fruit/veg during stressful exam time - soo much appreciated when your brain is not working) Also great support whenever you need anything. The building is brand new and dynamic. In a nutshell, what are you waiting for, book at the Foundry!! :-)
