Being one of the cheapest Edinburgh uni accommodations it is amazing. Location is prime and while it doesn't have a common room, you can use the one in South Clerk street. It is a bit old but the rooms are lovely with spacious kitchens and 2 bathrooms for 5 people. Top tier accommodation would defo recommend

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Loved my time at Hermit's Croft. Right next to the all the main bus lines running through the southern city so easy to get to King's and beyond. The rooms were nothing groundbreaking, but good range of furniture and big windows. Two bathrooms and a large kitchen. The walls are a tad thin, but other than that no complaints.

Such a highly underrated accommodation. Situated in a quiet and safe residential area. supermarket 5 min away. uni and gym are both 10 min away.
Reasonable value for money and great location although laundry facilities could be improved. The icing on the cake has to be Bacchus the cat as he would make anybody want to stay there being so smart.
Nice halls in a really good location, not many issues other than the laundry service which was truly awful. There were far too few machines and they were often not working.
This place is amazing. If you want somewhere smaller than pollock but still totally sociable then stay here. 6 minute walk to George Square, gym just down the road and loads of shops close by. Bacchus (the cat) will top it off for you, hea a great thing to have around during exams.
Great location, although slightly old

It is not the cheapest places out there (don't think a lot of the accommodations offered are), but the location is nice, a bit of a walk to main university, but it is in a nice and quiet area, has a cat (Bacchus!) and amazing RAs for 2015/2016. There is no common room, so the flat's kitchen is the only social space, for parties around 40 people can fit in, but it's very nice just for the use of your flat. They use KeySurf, not the best Internet out there, but you can live by :)
