The Bridge House is a twenty-minute walk from both the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier campuses. The accommodation is located in the Fountainbridge area, near the Union Canal and within a fifteen to twenty-minute walk from most of Edinburgh’s landmarks.
You have plenty to explore as Princes Street, Haymarket Station, the Meadows, the Old Town, two arthouse cinemas and numerous bars, cafes and restaurants are all located nearby. Residents can benefit from having car parking available.

Walls are so paper thin i can hear my flatmates pee from 2 rooms away. Was put in a flat of 5 guys and I was the only girl, was so incredibly uncomfortable and wanted to move rooms but was given 0 help. Flatmates were just awful, the accommodation itself could have been fine but they made the whole stay unbearable. Study spaces good, reception staff lovely

The physical building is very bad, lots of heavy leaks through the ceiling (literally regularly pouring). Extremely expensive with bare minimum amenities. But the staff are amazing, really really great and supportive, good people, especially geroge cunningham

I stayed at the bridge house last year, during my stay there was numerous issues. The accommodation decided to do a full refurbishment with all the students still staying in the building, causing a continuous nuisance throughout our stay. We got woken up at from 7-9am despite them assuring us that the workers will not start till 9am, these works continued untill 5-6pm which disrupted my studies. Throughout the works, there was a high degree of negligence causing various safety hazards - one main issue was the square cut out our floor that would go through with a weight of a person. Another issue was within the other blocks, they allowed the builders to stay in them - with no background checks, due to this there was an issue with the builders trying to chat up a 17 year old girl. The builders often worked on the roof, which was fine until I woke up to one of them staring in my window while I was in bed naked, this made me feel very uncomfortable for the rest of the stay. Part 1

Whilst we understand your frustration around the work to refurbish our property, we do believe that the works overall are a benefit to our residents and have replaced many old and worn facilities for new, with the addition of extra bathrooms in our shared flats as well as a brand new common area. Due to the volume of work needed, it would not be possible to complete this during term breaks, and we apologise for the disruption you felt during your stay. My check-in was delayed due to unfinished refurbishments and upon check-in it was evident that the work was still ongoing. In the first few weeks there was continuous work being carried out in my flat and the building. One of the rooms in my flat had a leak which meant water was running into our hallway which we had to clean and maintain ourselves in multiple occasions. One of the two bathrooms had a leak which is still ongoing 5 months later. Our oven and hob also breaks frequently. Although I was promised compensation for the missing week I have still not received this after many attempts. Location is good but everything else is pretty poor.

Overall one of the better accommodations I’ve stayed in, not much to complain about, most issues that arise are resolved quickly. I do think it could use some better social spaces in the flats themselves and it’s probably not worth the high price, but nothing really is at the moment

The Bridge House is a great location in the city centre, so close to town and great shops around. Everything is great, although we did have a slight issue with our roof which took 4 months to actually fix it. The communication wasn't too great from the staff as we had numerous staff come up to look but nothing got finalised. A part from this issue they have been attentive to our minor issues.

I have given social spaces 3 stars as it currently doesn't have one but all else about the property is very good.

So far I've had a nice experience staying here. The accommodation is located in a convenient area being super close to the city centre, but it would be better if each flat had at least two bathrooms (and two showers) given the number of people living in one flat. I'm hoping to have the chance to make more friends while I'm here. Everyone has always been friendly but the fact that the Bridge House accommodation doesn't have a proper social area within the building makes it hard to form actual friendships with the other residents of the same block.

The Bridge House really is right in the heart of things! We have listened to feedback from our current and past residents, and this year there is a full refurbishment happening. Our shared flats will now have two bathrooms in each flat, meaning more flexibility and space, along with less waiting times to use the bathrooms. In addition to this, we now have a brand new common area which consists of group study, social study and tv lounges. The reception is now much more accessible for our residents and our new entrance on the main road means we can accept deliveries much more easily. We have already had some great comments around the improved social aspect in the property, and we hope that this will continue! Bex Moylan General Manager
