Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
It’s a comfortable place to live
A very good accommodation with very good staff!
I have only been here one week but so far I have been having a great time. My flatmates are very nice.
Really good to live here. Convenient to get to bus stations. The facilities are new and useful. The shared kitchen is big and clean. Many of my friends likes my room when I showed them the video of my room.

I have really enjoyed my stay at city village. The social space is great aswell and the location is convenient.
Overall the accommodation is really good, cleanliness is perfect and the rooms are good sizes. The management team is really good as well. The location is ideal with everything close by.
City village is a great place to stay at considering the location, access to groceries and bus stop. It is very close to restaurants and stores. The rooms are very spacious and the kitchen is extremely neat.
Great place and great staff, would recommend it!

Living at City Village can simply be summarized in 3 words -- familial, cozy, and modern. Although I love the aura of coming down to City Village's events with the aroma of muffins every few months, it is the staff that I love most. They are attentive, funny and always cheer up my day. With Beth's wittiness, Sophie's advice, and Anna and Dorota's detail to paperwork, they make the perfect team to see everyday. I am sure you will enjoy your time here, just as I have.
I think it's well worth staying here, both for the service and the environment. It was the best choice I could have made! All the staff here are very friendly and have given me a lot of help.
While there were a few bumps like the internet, the overall experience has been great
The best ever and I really enjoy a lot
Good service and good food. Loving it ~~~~~
Love love the interior and the events that they arrange, makes us feel like at home!
I have to say that it is really great. This is my first time living alone. I am very glad that I chose City Village
Good student accommodation near Coventry city centre. Easy commute to the university of Warwick campus and affordable.
It's very convenient here,And the staff is very good.
Perfect environment, Kind friendly amazing staff
Its a great welcoming environment!!! Lovely staff
Stuffs are very nice! 👍 the location is great too and I have made many friends there.
Great reception team. Quick response from maintenance team. Great facilities.
Overall satisfied with the room.
Very worth the money. Social spaces are great, but more would be nicer.
it is comfortable and convinent to go to school and city center. It is also very clean. All staffs are kind. But the laundary is a little bit expensive.
sometimes the wifi is so weak that we cannot connect it
It is good living here. It's close to the bus station and supermarkets. Public areas are clean. The WiFi sometimes works not really well.
Receptions are really nice. Accommodations are comfortable and convenient, location is good, near markets.
A great accommodation with a wonderful common area full of fun facilities. The rooms and kitchen are very well designed and the flat is provided with all essential cleaning equipment. The management is extremely friendly and makes everyone feel very welcomed and at home at City Village.
Good location and good common area, clean environment and very friendly staff here. I like to live here.
Internet is poor , the social soaces can be improved
City village is a very good student apartment! I get a lot of happiness here~ It's always very festive here, like Halloween and Christmas……
First, I live in an en-suite. I am very satisfied with the layout of the room almost every space is utilized and the infrastructure in the suite is very complete. The special feature of the suite is that you can live and communicate with people from different countries. If you are bored and lonely, go to the common room to chat and play with your roommates. At the same time, you can go back to your room when you feel tired. Everyone has privacy. Second. Apartment properties are also very efficient. I remember one time my toilet light broke so I called the front desk for repairs. They will kindly ask you what time is more suitable for maintenance. And it was done efficiently the next day. also. If you want to go to the supermarket, there is a nice convenience store downstairs in City Village for daily needs. The important thing is that the apartment is only 5 minutes away from the city center. So I like City village very much.
The time I've spent here have been nice and also the conditions of living are nice and so are the snacks
It is nice to live there ,but the prices maybe a little expensive.
need mobile shower hose, it would be good if you provide non carpet room for asian students. I live on bare foot
Could improve but better compared to any around so can’t complain
The walls are dirty and some of the furnitures are broken in rooms, toilets and kitchen as well. Also, a window in the kitchen of the flat does not operate, and the oven was also dirty, making cooking difficult. After our reporting of problems and maintenance no correction was made from the City Village.
Common space is often too dirty There are too less facilities in the gym- please place some dumbells at least.
City Village has exceed my expectations in terms of how spacious my room is (Bronze Studio) and the quality and cleanliness of everything in the room. The location is ideal as the groceries, train station and bus station are all within a short walk.
I love the environment here but I saw many posts on Instagram from other building of downing students, they held many interesting events:(
Sometimes the wifi cannot work in the evening
Is sad that my Flatmates are unhygienic and made the kitchen so dirty and smells bad. But I love my room is big enough even it is a standard ensuite, good location, a bit pricey. Recommend if you have friends so that you can stay in the same flat.
the wifi sometimes is very slow, hope to improve~ others just perfect
