After having so many issues throughout the year it’s not worth it at all for the cost. The fire alarm went off nearly every week meaning we had to wait outside in the rain for someone to come which took around 20 minutes and the hot water would go off every week. The location was great for first year since it was a five minute walk from the university. However it was a 20 minute walk to town and the local supermarket. The management were good other than the fact they couldn’t do anything to help with issues with our flatmates and were also slow with replying and sorting out issues with the heating, fire alarms, mould ect. Cleaners would clean the hallways every week but the cleanliness of the flat would depend on yourself and your flatmates. The kitchen and hallways were the only places to hang out, the stools in the kitchen were very uncomfortable and if people were in the hallway you could hear them very loud from your room. The wifi was awful and hardly worked and the signal v bad.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

If you're looking for a place where the fire alarm constantly goes off leaving you to stand outside in the rain (at midnight), your room is covered in mould when you arrive and there's no social space then this is the place for you. There are two washers are dryers between 100+ people (that charge you each time) and a small kitchen between 7 people. The rooms are a decent size for uni accommodation but they lack storage. I had an ensuite room (£112 a week) and most of our bathrooms loved growing mould as well as housing silverfish. Also I recommend and ethernet cable is you want to be able to attend your online lectures.
Despite regular complaints from multiple residents the accommodation management insist on allowing a non rent paying druggie to live in the halls full time. This person brings cocaine into the halls regularly and steals food, cons residents out of money and has even stolen prescription medicines from a resident. The management simply do not care.
Small rooms but a lovely location and super cheap
the accommodation was alright, i had an en-suite so it was nice not sharing a room and bedroom with anyone, the only place where all your flatmates would see each other is in the kitchen which was a decent size. my flatmates were nice and we always cleaned the kitchen together for inspections and helped each other with other stuff. the only problem i had was one of them kept smoking in the halls after knowing they weren't allowed to and same person kept bring people around at 1 to 6 am in the morning when everyone else is sleeping.
good location, gives a chance to meet people but terribly run
Great location, the rooms are a reasonable size and ensuite bathroom is lovely. Internet connection has its moments but otherwise is excellent. There is no common room which is a bit of a downer and the kitchen is very small, with only 6 freezer drawers to 7 people. There are also only two washing machines and dryers to about 120 people. You need to do all the cleaning yourself, so the cleanliness of the flat depends on who your sharing with. Halls staff are really friendly and are quick to respond with any issues you may have onsite, there are also security around who will be able to solve your issue. It is a little overpriced, but totally worth it for being able to hop out of bed five minutes before a lecture starts and not worry about being late
no social area, dark rooms facing a brick wall, only good thing about the accommodation was the location
Overpriced but well kept and run.
No common room or much social space is its main downfall, especially if you have a ensuite room you only get a breakfast bar in the kitchen which isn't great because a flat of 7 have difficulty sitting at it all at once and because there was no common we just ended up on the floor in the hallway.
The rooms are very small and the kitchens are also small and carpet in the rooms and hallways are ridiculously hard to hoover.
-the location is great as the uni is 10 steps - however the rooms are tiny and have very little storage space - no social area - dirty old toliets
Wifi cuts out sometimes but it's manageable and the location is very convenient but some rooms have inconveniently places shelves which makes it hard to move sometimes
The building i old, the fire-alarm goes of randomly all the time, there are no space to be social and the walls are paper thin which makes the noise unbearable!! The accommodation Office is no help at all if you raise any concerns, you are on your own!
Very small bedrooms. Not enough storage space. Overpriced laundry. Walls are not soundproof. Not enough freezer space. Tiny kitchens. Two washers and two dryers for 130 students.
