I love Newnham for how friendly and comfortable it feels, for how much the various staff really care about us, and above all else for how pretty it is!! Yes it's a little out of the centre of town, but that gives us a bit of peace and quiet and makes it feel like home - a proper retreat from the often-hectic central streets of Cambridge. That said, it's a very easy 10min walk in, and if you have your lectures on the Sidgwick side (that's just about all the Arts faculties) it is the BEST location ever. You can literally leave your room 2 minutes before your lecture starts - just cross the road and you're there!! The lovely red brick buildings and large gardens are really beautiful, and our buttery might not exactly serve gourmet restaurant meals, but it's actually pretty good stuff and there's always a varied selection. The library is one of my absolute favourite places ever. <3
