Lovely friendly small university, I really feel this Uni is on its way up, up up.
Fantastic lecturers, beautiful campus, top wifi speed and an study area that sells delicious organic pizza! Historic town centre, great restaurants and pubs, although town is not big on the nightclub scene (avoid Vodka at all costs
The university has been brilliant for me as a trainee teacher with a disability. They have put everything possible in place to help me work for my degree and comfortably live away from home. Couldn’t ask for any more.
Winchester is small but perfectly formed. It has history, beautiful buildings (old and very new), and a tight community of students and academics. Its size belies the scale of its ambition. It is a world leader in the fields of education, history and archaeology and contributes a great deal to these areas in terms of research. It has a vibrant arts programme and there is an international vibrancy to its cohort and output. It is perhaps too comprehensive in its admissions, but I believe it's on the ascendancy.
The best university. Everyone I encountered during my three years at Winchester was friendly and welcoming and, as I left to begin my MSc at the University of Glasgow (for a course not offered at Winch, otherwise I would have stayed), I felt well-equipped to deal with any number of challenges. I wish I could go back and start the three years all over again :)
The University as a whole is a lovely place, very friendly and welcoming, the campus is a nice place and easy to find your way around and if your lost there is always someone who is willing to help
I am disgusted by the treatment and superiority of security staff regardless of whether a general complaint or sexual misconduct ( I am aware of at least two incidents of inappropriate photographs being taken by university societies and several sexual assaults which have all been reported with no consequence) has been mentioned or during general issues through student events. I do not feel like this university protects my well being or safety when events at the student union is being held. I feel like the university makes a mockery of their students who are effectively paying thousands of pounds a year to be treated like scum by a security team that enjoys causing problems just so they have people to throw out
I dropped out after a month and a half. Rubbish uni with awful dorms and sub par teaching staff. I was given no information about lectures in the first week and was given a telling off after I didn't turn up to a lecture I didn't have. Hardly any decent societies and I had a hard time making friends. Town is rubbish and hardly no decent shops. Lecturers were patronizing didn't care. I would recommend you to avoid this uni at all costs.
Although one of the smallest campus Universities there is so much going on.
Having been a student, it's with great regret that I look back at my period there(university of Winchester). There are lots of discrimination against bme students. They are treated less favourably compared to their counterparts.
Generally good. Careers are a great bunch, and are so helpful Internet, never had a problem Clubs and Societies, generally something for everyone! Campus is beautiful, and the facilities are ok, but the campus is always expanding and getting bigger.
The internet in the rooms further away from the kitchen can disappear often
Societies for everything you could think of including Dessert Tasting!! (It's fab btw) good range of nights out in the union club, also movie nights and quizzes for the non partiers like me lol
Beautiful campus and incredibly helpful staff, the constant climbing of what we've come to call 'the mountain' is the only fault I can find so far, and that's only a 15 minute walk up a hill.
Services at the university have been slow and missed communications dealing with difficult situations.
The campus is small but its big enough not to seem cramped. The hills are horrible but after the first term you get used to it!
The campus and its facilities are exemplar; disabled accessibility, food service, the Library and Computer access are abundant. The clubs and societies at Winchester are amazing, whether they're based around sports, politics, gaming, or are specific course societies they're fantastically inclusive and active. (Shoutout to Busking, History and Psychology!) The Students Union is fantastic as its staff, social events and facilities have been consistently brilliant and continue to improve! The careers services are welcoming and efficient in their advice and are committed towards getting you the best job for you. Internet is very fast and the entirety of the campus has Wi-Fi access, literally everywhere!
Uni has everything I need, very modern campus is nice

The university overall has a friendly atmosphere to it which is easy to help you settle in.
This university has given me independence from living at home whilst still providing me with help and guidance when it is needed instead of me feeling overwhelmed of what to do.
Very good experience at the university so far this year, everyone is very friendly. Nightlife is not so good but definitely makes up for it with the amount of pubs and student union events
Lovely, friendly university. Not a wild place with very limited night life, but if you want a friendly chilled no then winchester is the place for you.

Very good university, especially for Primary Education, library is well stocked! SU do good nights, especially with decorations and the like and the drinks are reasonable priced. Enjoy my course and the people at the uni are very good! If it wasn't for the lack of a local big supermarket (Sainsburys down the hill in town is a pain because walking up from there with shopping is tiring!) then it would be perfect! Online shopping is needed really. Also a shame about the hills, however it makes me feel less guilty about not joining a gym!

Great first semester living in Winchester. Campus provides many facilities and living in halls provided me with an easier transition into uni life!
From day one the university have been really helpful. If you have either personal or academic worries the staff are easily approachable and easy to talk to.
The only thing missing I a microwave and a water heather, its expensive to live of campus and having to by anything hot to eat or drink,
The wifi can act a bit odd on the occasion but for the most part it works. A really great university with a lot of fantastic perks. Highly Highly Recommend for people to come to Winchester.
So friendly, the small community means you will always bump into people you know on nights out etc.

The uni does have SU events however, when you compare them to other uni events they're not great!
Brilliant facilities, and services for students. However due to the obvious extra intake of students every year, facilities are often stretched at peak times of the day. Computers and workspaces become hard to find in periods like this.
Friendly university, has everything that is needed
A lovely peaceful campus with that countryside feel yet it is still close to town and the train and bus station. The clubs run here are always popular with everyone and the careers service here help you get a job as well as teaching you skills like how to write a CV.

The staff and the 24hr facilities on campus are really great - i love it here! the only thing is the SU shop is really expensive

Friendly student union which has something for everyone and holds events every night. Only downside is the amount of hills, but you tend to get used to them within the first semester

the wifi on campus is perfect( or close to anyway) as there is a connection wherever you are except some rooms in halls which can have REALLY bad wifi

Beautiful campus, but to small, No place to sit and study, are some space at the library but the air in there is so bad that I get a headache every time I'm in there for more than 30 minutes
This university has a very high standard. The teachers are great, and so are the students. You can be yourself, and it will most likely be a society where you fit in. The teachers are very motivating, and passionate about their subject.
The student union at Winchester is incredible, the events are always so fun and the safety bus is also s big part of a good night out as it safely takes you straight home for free.
Student union is awful compared with other universities, it is closed at the weekend and doesn't offer any sports viewing.

I love this university, everybody is so friendly and the teachers are really cool and approachable, you get treated like an adult here and that's a nice touch, it's a short distance from town too so that's not a far walk, and the place in general is really pretty
Its getting better academically. Lecturers are very good, courses have excellent content. Very friendly community atmosphere due to relatively small university size. Ideal for students unsure about moving away from home or people from small towns/villages.
The University of Winchester may be small and the campus may be scattered, but the university has it where it counts. The professors teach to a high standard and help as much as possible, which is what is important.
Good university with fantastic facilities. It's a nice size campus with easy access to the city centre and train station (10-15 minute walk).
Majority of people are super friendly, Staff are helpful. The area is lovely and the Campus is kept clean. Societies are welcoming for the most part but some sports and arts societies/clubs seem a little unwelcoming. Student Union seems to be focused mostly on the sports and arts clubs but other than that it's okay. Overall it's an amazing place to go to and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I have had the most incredible experience at Winchester, mainly because of the people I have met. It's such a close knit uni and a lovely atmosphere.

The university is fantastic! It is small but that's great because you really get to know people and can always see familiar faces on campus.
Winchester University is great, and I am so happy with my choice to study here. Campus is lovely, with everything being close together on the King Alfred Campus. New buildings are lovely as are the old. Internet is usually okay, however sometimes a little unreliable. Staff are really friendly, and are always happy to help with any issues you may have. Great events held at the SU. Love Winchester Uni!! Will be very sad to leave once I have finished my degree!
The university, although small, is brilliant! Even down to its mix of modern and old architecture. It has a really unique feel to the place. The SU is great for a night out, and the campus itself provides an open and social atmosphere.

The facilities were okay last year, hopefully they are a lot better now after spending all my tuition fees to doing the student union up. The clubs I have joined have been great, can't wait to join more this year.
I wouldn't change my university experience at Winchester, the SU provides something for everyone.

Everyone that goes to your SU goes to your university and you meet loads of people off you course there.
A really warm university and everyone helped me settle in really fast. I love the nights out at the SU, where i work part time. My tutors are also really supportive and inspiring. I can't wait to start year two! :D
Small but really friendly university!
Brilliant university that gives an opportunity to all students to have a career in what ever they want ! The lecturers are extremely knowledgable and have vast in field experience. The seminar group are small and very interactive especially with real world situations, allowing for maximum learning outcomes to be experienced ! The vast choices of modules for all subjects and societies to join is brilliant and creates a really safe friendly environment to be a part of!

Beautiful and friendly place with a wonderful atmosphere. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Campus is always clean and we'll presented, being only a short walk from town makes it perfect.
