Great campus with modern educational facilities. New health and well-being building will be a huge asset to future health students - unfortunately we had the old school models!
It’s good however pastoral support is severely lacking
A great uni in a great location with promising prospects for future students
currently only have 2 lecturers when there's supposed to be 8.
As a part time MSc student I have been well supported by the uni and feel the facilities are good, it would have been great to have had some additional digital support in terms of navigating round the website and how to access online lesson content in the beginning
Great location. Great wifi. Great facilities
There could be better facilities for Nutrition students as it feels like a course that is certainly not a priority but lecturers are very knowledgeable and helpful. It does seem to be a university that listens to its students. Student union is great and tries hard.
It could be worse. The lecturers do seem to care about providing a quality education, the facilities are ok. The SU may exist although I've never seen any of them. Postgraduate facilities are great if you're PhD but not for masters
University of Suffolk is one of the fastest growing university with the best student support service in the UK.
Good facilitates and areas. Friendly staff. Never had any issues. WiFi disconnects sometimes but not too much of a problem
The University have great facilities and a very supportive network, whether that be academic, social or anything else inbetween! I am enjoying my University experience so far
Like all places, there are often drawbacks to studying at the university, and a lot of things fall through the cracks sometimes. But as long as you're on top of things and you can tell when something has perhaps gone accidentally unnoticed it is very easy to gain that support. Some lecturers will teach or conduct themselves in ways that you don't find helpful to your learning style, but there is always someone to contact to make sure you are getting that learning support elsewhere. Can't fault the Wi-Fi personally and having access to the campus 24hours a day has been a huge impactor on reducing my other academic stressors. Whilst I have struggled with reaching out for support in the past, the support and compassion I received after the bereavement of my mother was incredibly helpful.
I would be good if inside the uni campus there would be a microwave and a hot water machine close by. If not we have to go over to the student union which I don’t spend lunch at so if a small community space could be made inside of the waterfront building it would help so much.
The university has a really nice campus and has always got enough space for you to study in your own time, in peace. Staff are always helpful and friendly.
Let’s face it you don’t choose to come to Suffolk for the amazing nightlife, although if you love a good country pub, it’s got many. Suffolk university is great in my experience because I’ve had 1-1 support the whole time, seminars have never been more than 15 people and you can pretty much book a tutorial for whenever you need and know you can always get hold of tutors, lecturers and module leaders at the drop of a hat. They go above and beyond to make sure your experience is good and react to feedback very quickly to continuously make the courses (and uni as a whole) much better!
Excellent disability and wellbeing support, friendly and helpful staff and tutors, good buildings all very close together and close to town centre.
Overall a well kept and good university. Staff are very friendly and willing to help. Could do with a few more clubs and ways to make friends/socialise though.
Have not attended any clubs or societies but lectures and support is very good. The campus and facilities are basic and much of the student loan is used to facilitate my equipment
I study from the Digitech Center in Ipswich, so do always have access to everything that is available on main campus.
The ipswich is lovely place to study and the tutors are well to help you out with issue . The library is really resourceful. The only issue is that the student union shop has not had much in it lately.due to being redone. But have made up with having local business coming in with lovely treats.
I have enjoyed being here for the last 2 years, I’ve learnt a lot and it has allowed me to grow and explore options for my career after my degree because the lecturers are very knowledgeable and know how to direct you in the right direction.
Suffolk university has been nothing but supportive to me since enrolling onto the BA Hons counselling course . I am a mature student so all was very new to be but with their capacity to assist I have felt I couldn’t have been in a better place to start my studies .
Uni offers good services and equipment for students to use, online portals and brightspace etc is easy to use and look around to find anything you need for your course or anything else going on at the uni. Support is somewhat good but sometimes can feel a bit disconnected and hard to reach out.
A university with a very well equipped arts campus. Unfortunately, the social aspect of the whole experience is limited- I could not find a society which I would be interested in etc.
Overall great university and pleased to have chosen it for my study. Accommodation needs addressing
Generally the University is great and the lecturers are passionate but the WiFi leaves room for improvement as some devices cannot connect to it. There could be better facilities in terms of affordable food and drink as prices are considerably high considering it's for students. Clubs and societies are good however, there aren't many for more creative skills rather they just mainly stick to sport oriented.
University of Suffolk is a great uni in a beautiful location, it has plenty of facilities for all needs and staff are always happy to help. It is a smaller uni which makes classes feel more personal, and it is easy to get around. The cafes on site are a great element, and there are plenty of study spaces on site with great wifi connection.
Great university for amenities and position. A relaxing student experience.
i enjoy coming to the university of suffolk. as a student paramedic a lot of my study is focused on placement time and learning in practice, but when I am at university I enjoy being on campus. I have a great relationship with my lecturers. I do think there could be a few more spaces to sit and study that aren't in the SU as in the main building sometimes there isn't much available.
I have been very impressed with this University buildings, it's staff and tutors, who are both professional and friendly. As a mature student studying BA (Hons) in Counselling I feel welcome, involved and a valued member. I love the location, right beside the waterfront with a backdrop of yachts and lovely cafes and bars around. The town center is just a 5 minute walk. There are places to hang out and gather on campus including the very helpful library. I couldn't be happier with my experience so far!
It’s a good university with a good amount of sports and society to join
Having attended the university for some time, I can confidently say that it offers a high-quality academic experience with a strong focus on practical skills and career development. What I appreciate most about the University of Suffolk is its small class sizes and personalized attention from faculty. Overall, I would highly recommend the University of Suffolk to any prospective students who are looking for a supportive and personalized academic experience with a strong focus on practical skills and career development.
Amazing support as an mature student I have had my struggles and this university had made me believe in myself again
University of Suffolk was the best decision I ever made for myself 🫶🏻
Would recommend the University of Suffolk for a great overall experience.
A good university to study. More needs to be done to support minorities.
I have never had an issue at the university and everyone is helpful and the campus is well arranged and easy to navigate
I decided to come to the university of Suffolk after visiting on an open day. It was the only uni out of 4 others I visited that I felt welcomed to, and that made me feel at home. Facilities are brilliant as there are labs with high quality computers and monitors, ones that bring people in outside of study time. There is a new health and well-being building with a new X-Ray room which is brilliant for practice and has an adult and baby phantom you can X-Ray. The Wi-Fi has always been fast and there are loads of clubs and societies which help if you’re struggling to make friends. It is a smaller uni which means there is more one to one teaching.
Lovely university with lots of positive support.
The school has a well-organized structure with amazing facilities. The intriguing part is their unwavering commitment to students' academic performance.
A lot of clubs and societies seem to be aimed at the younger people. Not many for mature older students
The university have loads of resources and activities for extra curricular and the staff are all happy to help
The university is great for students that live on campus or near by, but not so good for students that travel in or mature students
Everyone is safe in there and friendly. Plenty of activities to do.
This University os full of diversity and that is what interests me more about the fact that everyone has the opportunity to study what they want without being critized and discriminated and the spaces are really welcome. Also, they provide free breakfast for whoever is interested and in my opinion they (University ) are aware of those who have low income and make their best to support so that won't interfere with the studies.
I love being a student at the University of Suffolk. Spaces are great and my supervisors are simply amazing!!
I feel the university has great facilities to make me feel comfortable, no matter the situation.
Great university and facilities, Would highly recommend as the lectures are very detailed and staff are very friendly and helpful. Also very helpful towards those who have disabilities too!
Everybody is very warm and friendly, there’s a lot of support available if needed.
Spend lots of time in the student union, lovely place, equipment like pool table could do with updating and also implementing all the equipment to be signed out would be a good idea to stop damages. Study Booths are limited so maybe could use more instead of the huge wooden chair area that not many people seem to use. the lectures are stated to be practicals however this is often not the case, this requires changing. Car park is always full with bays very small, puts people off bringing in nicer cars incase the doors get hit by other drivers. Other than that a good university.
The library services are the best part of the uni ,academic advisors are great. administration side of the university needs much improvement, many delays. Uni is always clean.
The university of Suffolk is a welcoming and friendly environment. Members of staff are always on hand for any help you may need and there are a range of social activities, events and opportunities. Having ran a society myself with the guiding aid of the university and SU services , I cannot recommend this place enough! The wifi can be spotty in non study areas but I haven’t had this issue personality, and my friends that have , have had this issue fixed by staff. The SU has a pool table, table tennis, free tea and coffee making facilities and friendly staff. Most recently, even a bakery business pop up for those necessity emergency donut breaks
Fantastic up-and-coming university with great facilities and a lovely waterfront.
As a mature student, I do not stay on campus; however, I have benefitted from social events, promotions and excellent support from tutors and staff. The University of Suffolk delivers course content that is apparently lacking in some other Universities. This was discovered after starting my placement with a student from a different uni, and I was very surprised that this was lacking on her course because I found it vital in fulfilling gmy role. The diverse range of teaching styles, guest speakers and collaboration with student voices allows for a holistic learning experience. I feel that I have a really firm foundation as I look forward to my career.
The amount of direct involvement from the uni seems minimalistic, and unless you have a good student rep you never hear anything, it would be nice to have a dedicated team who goes around classes more often to take feedback and run questionnaires. Also facility wise these are isolated to specific areas and are not always reliable at the best of times. Utilising the grounds for fairs and stalls would draw more traffic, and aiming to make more events for all classes targeting different demographics would allow for more student interactions between buildings.
Nice to see other people.car parking isn't always great so have to get In early for a space
I've really enjoyed my time at Suffolk uni as a masters student, the facilities and lecturers are great and it is a very hospitable university to attend!
Good experience so far. Friendly and welcoming.
I have really enjoyed my time so far at uni, the campus is well designed and easy to navigate. It is very welcoming and the lecturers and staff are extremely helpful. Really good facilities that are easy to access.
I have not had much to do with the SU but always clean and everyone seems happy.
The university of Suffolk is a nice place to study. Staff are approachable and keep you informed on what is happening on the campus and invite you to attend activities. The library staff are supportive and online teaching platforms are easy to use and navigate.
An amazing uni, still in its infancy with room for growth but one that constantly puts it’s students first
Such a great university. Lovely location, nice people and great coursesm
The university is really supportive for those with mental health issues and I’ve had no issues with them during my time here.
Good place to study but needs more student events
Excellent university with good facilities for my course. I did my undergraduate degree here and decided to also complete my masters here
I have enjoyed my time as a student so far, and my experience has been wonderful
I am a current second year at the University of Suffolk and from my time here so far, I would most certainly recommend this university to prospective students. Great lecturers and great module teaching - assignments are designed to support students and give them the opportunity to try new things and develop key skills. With the degree I am doing, my course has been designed in blocked format. Which means that there is 4 weeks of intense learning followed by an assignment week. There is always support available, careers services are actively involved, and generally there is great diversity in the student population; forming a phenomenal community.
Games courses are well taught, however the overall management of the university leaves much to be desired. Many higher up management decisions negatively impacting the course and teaching staff unable to implement changes based on student feedback due to overall university decisions (Such as the change to block learning which has negatively impacted project based courses). Facilities are perfectly serviceable.
such a lovely university on a lovely campus. staff always willing to help, library is such a good study place, huge amount of resources available and incredible facilities
I have been a ok so far trough my first year. Facilities are great, Turow’s very passionate and attentive, it’s good.
Absolutely love my uni. The SU and societies are amazing
Enjoyed my experience so far, all staff is super helpful and nice.
Great facilities, friendly lecturers. There are some good sports activities to get involved in and freshers week is always full of activities.
Great facilities. The lecturers are really supportive.
The University is good and centric, most of the lecture content provided is interesting and it keeps you engaged.
Campus and facilities are good and accessible. The student union are great and offer a range of sports and clubs
It’s alright, nice facilities and good location.
So far my uni experience is pretty good as the uni is located very close to town so I can easily walk there to get all my necessities.
Lovely and modern university. All necessary equipment is available for students, any problems are resolved quickly, and tutors are as helpful as possible.
Brilliant lectures and an amazing group of people here. Great view of the water when in the james heir building and waterfront building.
its good so far although not a fan of being on placement
I like my experience at Suffolk University I met awsome people and friends
Very nicely placed facilities along the docks and is located in a nice relaxing environment with all the restaurants and bars along the docks
Su could be more organised and pleasant towards people.
I like this Uni, but honestly the Student's Union/Clubs and Societies could do with some work. I am pretty introverted, but when I wanted to be social, there was not much on that appealed to me. The LGBT society and games society have had some good events, but many of the societies listed online are inactive (even pre-COVID)
Everything is just amazing!! 🥰🥰 Thank you UOS!
I like the library. Waterfront building is modern and the ecological aspect of the roof is cool. However, Waterfront building is very small. The Students' Union is bad. They are unhelpful, they ignore and they are weak.
OK place to go if don't get accepted anywhere else
Great university, excellent tutors, supportive student union, great parking space.
Too small. Never know if you’ll have good or bad lecturers
OK place, only good thing is location to the accommodation
This uni is new yes, but that makes it general lack of care even more disturbing
Decent. Not much to say about it
This university is poor in many ways and I would not recommend to anyone. The worst of all, some Lecturers can't teach and lack of organisation is shocking.
One of the worst decisions I made if I could go back I would choose Open University. It is not a campus It is west Suffolk college students who dominate every space and the noise from them is atrocious. It has been the most unhappy 3 years of my life
Accommodation is shocking for the price! It basically costs the whole of your student loan for a box room with a desk. Clubs and activities are minimal compared to other uni’s. Graduation is a tent in the car park and the summer ball is at a club next door, it’s all very prestigious.
Bright and cheerful! staff are always happy to help and always asking if I am ok
clubbing scene is not all that, quite expensive to go out on a night out. services are quite slow and not helpful enough
Excellent courses and lecturers, who are always happy to help out. Small class sizes means a personal link to tutors, which is very beneficial to the learning environment. The Students' Union is active to improve the range and size of clubs and societies, as well as provide sport and activities.
