Living at IQ Kingston has been a great experience as a whole. The IQ staff have been helpful from the very first day I moved in. The room and en-suite bathroom are a comfortable size for a student living in the heart of Kingston town centre. The building is well organised and any maintenance issues are fixed by Adam who is very helpful and friendly. The building has been recently fully renovated and includes a modern study room, and has 2 working lifts. The receptionists, namely Marianne and Gareth, are always friendly, caring and helpful, and deal with any questions very well. I recently moved out and Gareth helped me with my luggage from my room all the way up to car, giving the driver, who was unable to find the building, very clear instructions and ensured everything was well. Despite the construction works that had been going on, they have now fully finished. I would recommend IQ for students looking for value for their money and staff that go above and beyond to help.

Kingston University
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

"IQ Kingston has been nothing but an absolute disappointment. Let’s start with the positives since there are so few: Reception staff are nice. The area feels safe. It gets cleaned regularly. Now to the real review: There are only 3 washing machines and dryers for the entire building. The rooms are bad; they are rather small, and the bathroom is a literal cubicle made out of plastic, which easily gets stained. There is no common room or social spaces other than next to the bins outside. The freezer space is very small. The people here are completely anti-social and will literally pretend you are not there. Only one of the lifts is working, and there are 7 floors. These are only some noteworthy points. Now to the big problems. The building is completely under construction, and I was not informed until I arrived. When I asked, they referred to it as “maintenance.” Every morning from Monday to Friday at 9, sometimes even 8, the drilling starts and it's extremely loud. All the windows are
Nice staff, good memeory. Room is really good, quiet for study.
Too expensive. Builders in the flat without notice. Only good thing is the gym, but still isn’t open long enough as closes at 8pm
Kingston IQ accommodation is highly recommended. The fact that the receptionist was speaking Greek made me feel very comfortable and the rest team with their friendly behavior. Nice place at a very convenient location in the city!
