The appartment is very functional and central but the noise is goes right through the whole building so which makes it constant. Quite often there is intermittant banging and thumping through the evening and night.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

The bedroom itself is pretty decent and meets basic needs jel ever other than that literally the worst accommodation on campus, not much going for it, really quiet boring halls with pretty s*** value for money considering it's only a bit cheaper from go war and wedderburn. My sink didn't work when I got here, it still doesn't work and bathroom shower is grim. Basic kitchen utilities also crap, fridge didn't work when I got here, oven and microwave etc s****** Than wedderburn etc. Woukdnt recommend it to anyone :)
Lack of social space, the only place big enough is the kitchen and even that isn't really a social space, really needs to be improved
Good location, can get everywhere on campus fairly easily. I don't think I'd ever go to the gym if I wasn't in Runnymede. There's not a lot of social spaces, although we have the kitchen table, there isn't a lot of space and it can get a bit crowded/tight if we're all in there. The halls are expensive, perhaps more than they are worth, but I am willing to put with that for an En-suite, in a self-catered hall that has a 38 week contract.
It's great but a sofa is needed in the kitchen
Runnymede 2 is the hall in the highest price for postgraduate, but I feel like it doesn't worth our money. I don't like the idea that staff can get access to our private room when we are evacuated. And we just have 1 stove for 8 people! Imagine when you have to queue to use the stove with an empty stomach! It's so annoying! And Chinese flatmate always invite their friends to come over for a dinner so the kitchen is crowded than ever!
Great rooms, very spacious, the en-suite bathroom is honestly amazing in comparison to many other en-suite bathrooms on campus with an elevated flooring which prevents flooding of the bathroom. The kitchen is very simple, but functional, with everything possibly needed for a self-catered student. Good number of flatmates, and with good bonding, you get to know everyone in your floor, the other floors and the joint flat next to you.
Great for a cheap option, ensuite showers and cooking for yourself, even with single beds the room was spacious enough. Amazing value for money.
I loved living there. The people were amazing.
If you could all maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, cleaners will help you out as well! They will not clean unless the table tops are cleared
Good value for money as it has a well sized bedroom, a very very large desk, plenty of wardrobe space and an okay ensuite. The kitchen isn't nice but it's big enough and all the kitchen equipment is modern enough. It's nice to share with only 5 other people sometimes, although it does limit social opportunities to some degree
Airplane toilet but with a shower crammed in too
Runnymede is the basic of the Royal Holloway accomodation, the toilet lacks space but its location the halls is a key positive in the review.
Cleaners often left the kitchen still dirty, there was no communal area apart from the kitchen. I was unlucky and had a very antisocial flat.
Cleaners spent more time staring out the windows than they did cleaning. Maintenance was awful. Drawers in the kitchen broke, microwave broke several times, kettle was filthy af, water was virtually undrinkable... room was not worth the price for this reason. No common room. Apply for Gowar, Wedderburn, Williamson, Tuke or Butler for a double bed at similar price.
Top floor of the halls is much more open than the lower floors and was amazing with an awesome group of people
