i live in N block and was scared at first because it’s shared kitchen and bathrooms however it’s actually fine once you settle in, lots of people to get along with your sure time find someone you like, the food is catered and it’s okay not amazing, sometimes has a few spiders, silverfish and wasps but they just chill, everyone in james is so friendly and there is a wide variety of activities for everyone to do run by the college team, amazing location next to the gym and close to the library and shops i have really enjoyed my year here

James College is a nice community, where everyone is welcome
i live in N block and was scared at first because it’s shared kitchen and bathrooms however it’s actually fine once you settle in, lots of people to get along with your sure time find someone you like, the food is catered and it’s okay not amazing, sometimes has a few spiders, silverfish and wasps but they just chill, everyone in james is so friendly and there is a wide variety of activities for everyone to do run by the college team, amazing location next to the gym and close to the library and shops i have really enjoyed my year here
Uni accommodation, James College, location and rooms are great. Kitchen quality is roll of the dice as it could be shared between 6-16 people! Food is not good in my opinion, although there is no way to stay at that accommodation without getting food included which is aggravating.
Full of toffs, unfriendly. Very clique-y. People don't socialise outside of their flat. Don't come here if you haven't been to Thailand on a gap year.
When I attended, there were many toffs in this college.
Great location on campus and has an excellent layout to create an excellent social experience. A bar and the uni sports centre are all within a minutes walk of the college, and it also has two common room which are open to all James students.
Great atmosphere and friendly people
I lived in N Block, which has a reputation for being grotty and horrible, which was entirely deserved. Bugs fell out of my ceiling, the kitchen couldn't fit more than a third of us in it at once and almost everyone's rooms got mould. That being said, it really does make some fast friendships, and literally *anywhere* else you move after it will look like a palace!
Bang in the middle of campus, close to the library, the gym and the sports pitches. Great social atmosphere
James College is the best college by far, great position on campus, nice accommodation, close to the lounge and other bars. Minus the geese obviously!
James is a great college, one of the nicest ones on campus and a few seconds walk from the Physics department which is great if, like me, you are a physicist.
Initially I thought a 5:1 shared bathroom (cleaned daily) will be a disaster but I was proven wrong. You will feel like a family in the long run. The college staffs are also very friendly and we have college tutors who you can talk to about any kind of issues. Wifi works perfectly.
Initially I thought sharing bathrooms wasn't going to go well and everyone in the flat would need to queue. But amazingly there was no queue at all and you will feel like a family living under the same roof in the long run.
Great halls, great location. Shame about the James College chair though. The social events seem to be lacking since he was elected.
Sharing a kitchen with sixteen people helps you learn how to use space effectively
Kitchen's small and very hot. Rooms nice and near to campus.
Great to be close to the sports hall but sport is not as inclusive as in other colleges.
Tiny room for huge price but good location and food
The rooms are too small and they only clean the toilet once a week and never clean the room (you have to do it yourself).
Big, clean and modern rooms (as long as you don't get N block) with a really good community feeling.
Animals are way toooooooo noisy in the morning
