Buckinghamshire New University
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Good location as next to morrisons and not far from uni or town, internet terrible
wifi was shocking, fair enough there is a couple hundred people potentially using it at the same time. far enough away from uni that you wernt constantly on campus, and near enough that it wasnt a trek to get into town etc. bit pricey for what is was tbh
I did not enjoy my experience I think the signing guest before 10 is stupid. The cleaners had loud conversations whilst they were cleanomg to a low standard.
The wifi is awful cannot connect to anything and films are so slow. I've gained a back problem from sleeping on the beds as they are so uncomfortable. Shower is really good. Oven is awful burns everything no matter what temperature.
Amazing people with a great atmosphere
Better than Windsor, identical rooms. The only difference is better furniture in Windsor and doors which you can't physically lock with a key.
Totally not recommended, to expensive, internet sucks, very remote location, loud, just nah.
A newly built accommodation block with great management and en-suite facilities, perfect for a first year student.
Halls were really fun though we had building work happen in the year I was there which caused lots of noise. Halls gives you a experience you will never forget!
Great halls, the best student experience with a great layout close to uni
Would have preferred to camp in a tent.
Apart from the location a perfect student halls
Best halls for bucks uni, great room space and good location from town centre and the uni. Common room ie kitchen needs a TV and 2 sofa's as the wooden benches serve there purpose but are not the beat to sit on for a year. Fantastic halls compared to other options in High Wycombe.
Loved living here for my first year, such a beautiful Accomadtaion
A 20 min walk from uni, but free bus service throughout the day, and free minibuses home after su club nights
