Staniforth House Biography
Staniforth House is located in the heart of the city and is only a five-minute walk from both Aston University and Birmingham City University, while still being close to the University of Law- Birmingham campuses. On your doorstep, you can find world-class shopping, nightlife and culture. Getting around will also be a breeze as there are two train stations both within a ten-minute walk.
There are numerous social spaces for you to enjoy, such as the cinema room with bean bag chairs, a rooftop garden and a common room with pool, foosball, comfy couches and armchairs. There is also an amphitheatre and courtyard with picnic tables, deck chairs and ping pong. If you are needing to get work done there is a study room for you to use. When needing a quick snack, you can make use of the vending machines.
Staniforth House offers students a range of en-suite rooms as well as private studios. The rooms have modern finishings and come with a private bathroom and plenty of storage.

The location is great, security and reception staff are really nice. Noz and Shaun do a good job with security. However, maintenance is very poor. Issues are not sorted quickly or effectively at all. I have had to ask many times over several months for the same basic appliances for my flat, or for things to be fixed.

Rooms are a bit small for the amount of money, provides the basics. But great location close to both unis and city centre. Security has massively improved and night security. Plenty of social spaces and study rooms.

Compared to other cities around the world it can be a little expensive. However in Birmingham it was the cheapest accommodation I could find. The people at reception and the security guards are really nice and helpful and take care of us. Aston university and a Tesco express are really near and the bedrooms are big enough to be comfortable.

Honestly the reception staff there make the experience so much better. They’re always willing to take time out to simply ask you about your day and fix any problems you have as soon as possible especially on the weekend sabrine and janelle are always making stani a vibe, good music always playing and they’ve always got a smile on their face. I’ve had an ongoing issue with rodents in my flat kitchen which hasn’t been solved hence low scores for property management and value for money. However the staff that are at the desk regularly including Hind, Bilal and Sabrine are lovely. Staniforth definitely have the best security who have made me feel safe and welcomed from the start namely Nos and Sean.

management are awful. i’ve had one reception lady let herself into my room whilst i was in there with no prior warning. the general manger has forced herself into my room, pushing me out of the way to get in after i told her i’d rather speak to her in the kitchen. the general manager has also refused to leave my kitchen before after whilst i had police over for another residents mental health. apparently you are not allowed visitors to stay over for more than 2 nights so when i’ve had my friends come up from my home town to stay for a week they’ve been told by reception they need to go back home. reception get annoyed at you when you lock urself out of ur room and need letting back in. some receptionists don’t even ask for ur name or id when making you a new key card, i’ve had someone else request a new key card for my bedroom and they just handed it over no questions asked. they street is not safe there’s always weird boys parked outside in there cars trying to talk to every girl

Location of accommodation is very beneficial but the management are terrible, no consistent staff and one will tell you one thing while one tells you another. Had no help with my struggles of being a girl in a filthy all boys flat either. Would like to highlight K.C though, the only member of staff who has ever been of any help and is very nice and actually knows what he is talking about.

orlando, abdullah, umer are very friendly and funny. they help you with any request and smile all the time. i enjoy my stay here a lot and can recommend staniforth house as a student accommodation.

Good for the money you pay. Most the experience depends on the flatmates you get. All the receptionists and staff are really good make you feel safe.

Great location, sound environment and I love common room😍. I’d recommend this accommodation. Being living away from home, most important thing is your safety and security which is at best here. You would hear bad comments about management and security but you know thieves would never like police. It’s all about the nature of their job. I’m really enjoying living here…

The reception team i.e. Orlando and Hind are great, and very helpful and friendly. On the other hand I have often found the security team to be very arrogant and lazy, it seems that they often cannot be bothered to do anything about the issue you have and will passive aggressively tell you to leave and come back the next day. There have been occasions for example where my friends and I will ask a question and the security team will look at each-other and laugh. This has left my peers and I feeling ignored and insecure in the trust of the security team to do the job they are meant to do, and this is not great considering the events that have gone on in and around the accommodation since September. However on a whole the accommodations itself is great and the maintenance is amazing, the reception staff are always helpful when present!

The reception workers are lovely and very helpful, especially Orlando and Hind! However I find the security to be unfriendly and rude. Management can be difficult. I also sometimes feel unsafe in the area.

Orlando + Hind are great in the reception, very helpful, informative and kind. However some nighttime security can sometimes be quite passive aggressive.

It was a good choice. Staff is very co operative and friendly especially Hind and Orlando helped me a lot of times. Night staff is great as well, I love the security guys.

The most nightmare experience ever. Staff/cleaners steal your stuff and have access to your rooms which makes it even easier for them to get hold of your belongings. Accommodation managers are s***, unhelpful and self centred. Very traumatising experience ever. I will not advise living here.

All of our bedrooms are accessed by secure key, where we are able to read the access history. If belongings are still in a room at the end of the tenancy, then attempts to communicate with our students is made to retrieve their belongings. Communiction is always issued prior to check out which highlights the importance of taking all of your belongings with you.
