Somerville's campus is one of the largest and is home to one of the largest Bodleian libraries in Oxford, which is always cool. The JCR are also very organised and informative so you'll feel very organised at Somerville and things are not very chaotic

One of the top universities in the world. Excellent in all aspects.
Good university for opportunities.
Very good teaching and resources. student union could do more.
I would say that internet / wifi has been generally unreliable in colleges as it tends to go out in a lot of buildings. But aside from this, I absolutely love the resources, teaching and extra curriculars!
Oxford’s facilities are excellent with so many different libraries
The University of Oxford overall stands up to its reputation. Access to facilities such as libraries is outstanding. There are a variety of events always happening and many clubs and societies to join. Situated in a beautiful city with plenty of nature areas, cosy pubs, cafes, museums, parks, bars and within an easy commute to London. The Univerity is divided into colleges. My only negative is that some colleges are better than others and some are not situated in the centre of the city. It can be difficult to access events at different colleges so choose your college carefully.
I adore going to university of oxford. I’m a graduate student so perhaps it’s a different experience than undergraduates. It can be highly bureaucratic and old-school but the teaching is second to none. The advisors genuinely want you to learn and grow so prepare to be stressed and pushed to great heights! The name/brand carries well so it’s great for networking. However the people you meet internally are extraordinary and so passionate.
A beautiful campus and exciting experience overall. Incredible architecture and old traditions really involve you into the Universities history. Your facilities, social life, and housing vary greatly based on their college system. It can be confusing to access resources and know what is available to you. There are clubs and societies galore but many cost a lot of money and funding is limited in many colleges. Social events for grad students again vary. Grad only colleges have more grad only events but many have limited funds. Under and post grad s=colleges often allocate more funds to under grad committee. Events planned are up to your social sec (elect a good one or ideally multiple!!!). The gym facilities are not great. Club sports give you better access. The libraries are gorgeous and a fantastic resource for studying and research. Teaching standards are heavily dependent on the course you are enrolled in and the frequency of classes.
Like the uni, though most support is college dependent rather than at the Uni level (hence poor student union, etc.)

museum is awesome and so do the campus
the SU could focus more on representing the average rather than the exception. Granted, the representation of the exception is key and crucial; nonetheless, it currently appears rather performative or politically motivated instead of an intrinsic commitment to represent the entirety of the student body.
I love it here, but the wifi is bad
The Oxford experience is amazing, a thousand things to do, see and learn
I do engineering, the department is old but the course is good.
Facilities are good, plenty of societies and the student union is very approachable
Internet coverage could be much better
Oxford is beyond beautiful. The tutors and lecturers are great
I like being part of my University! Even though it can be overwhelming to study there sometimes, I have learnt that we can also afford little breaks and moments of peace.
University is a vibrant learning environment with lots of choices for how students socialise.
Wifi is a bit spotty outside of buildings - wish there was better connectivity
Fantastic aside from WiFi issues, consistently goes down and isn't very strong to begin with
A bit expensive for what it is.
The University of Oxford is great in every way, and as an international student, there are a lot of things (especially the details) that were not available in previous schools in my country.
An overall great experience, but some improvements could be made on the internal community. Especially the Oxford SU which a lot of college JCR's have stopped working with due to controversial scandals.
I get the vibe that it's very different to the uni experience everywhere else, and yes what they say about the workload is true and real ( :') ) I still wouldn't have swapped it for anywhere else. And like yeah academics etc ofc but the social scene and community here is top notch (I haven't really seen it to the same extent elsewhere), and if you have the opportunity to come here I absolutely would not pass it up. ps: the SU question here is kinda irrelevant bc colleges and their respective jcrs actually take up the role that SU does in other unis. I don't think we're lacking in conventional SU support if you get me. SU does exist but power is limited bc of the college structure and they don't do much but it's not that big of a deal
The best place to study in the entire world.
Very intense and hard working academic atmosphere but lots of great opportunities as well
SU was slightly underwhelming in first year, but it is undergoing restructuring so I have high hopes for next year! Wifi dead spots. Otherwise the perfect place for everything.
Generally good. Careers service is very useful.
The accommodation depends on your college. My college is nice and reasonable for what I pay, however I know other students in other colleges that pay a lot more for smaller/less nice tmrooms with fewer resources.
I love it at Oxford so much! Everyone is friendly and great academic environment!! I was my dream University since forever and it didn’t disappoint ❤️
I have been here as a recognised PhD student at the Faculty of English, and it has been an extremely enriching experience. The Bod libraries are excellent and the exchange with the academic comunity is brilliant.
It’s Oxford, no more needed……?
Overall a very positive experience, the university is outstanding in relation to facilities and campus, clubs and societies.
It's a great university, it's very diverse because of the college experiences but also a fantastic place to study for sure!
An amazing experience with endless opportunities!
Oxford University is an epitome of academic excellence and intellectual rigor. From its distinguished faculty to its state-of-the-art facilities, Oxford fosters an environment where curiosity thrives and knowledge flourishes. As a proud alum, I can attest to the transformative power of an Oxford education, which not only equips students with invaluable skills but also instills a lifelong passion for learning. With its rich history and unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge, Oxford University continues to set the standard for higher education worldwide.
Very well equipped for student lifestyle
My school is super fun but really intense. There are so many activities as well that its feels quite overwhelming most of the time. The city itself is quite expensive to live in, perhaps because its a small tourist attraction. However, the quality of the faculties are top notch. Everyone brings their A game to class and our lecturers are very kind and welcoming. There’s a society or activity for everyone and many funding opportunities for everyone and every race. We also have this very lovely inspired dinners, balls and formals where we get to attend wearing black flowing robes. It’s a lovely tradition and the food is really good too. Best of all, the architecture is beautiful and the environment is serene. You get to feel like you’re in a magical place, perhaps Hogwarts (some of the scenes were actually shot here)!
Amazing University! Just a shame I got pooled to Wolfson College.
Nice place, very central in Oxford
Great Univeristy with great employability.
Oxford is great and truly everything it is advertised to be. The SU could use a revamp, but the lack of a great SU doesn't really seem to impact things that much. I do wish there were more meetings available with the careers service.
great experience and great atmosphere. Best city for students in the world
Good University, good tutors, good schooates
Very good and supportive ver good
The teaching quality varies wildly between courses and lectureres/tutors. While I have had some exceptional tutors, there are also a few who seem disinterested in teaching and simply reiterate answers to homework. I also had an excellent lecturer (yes it's singular) who actually cares about her students; there are also a few decent ones who made an effort to teach well. The vast majority of lecturers, however, range from mid to abysmal. Going to their classes can be a waste of time, and you can learn more from textbooks or MIT OCW. The terms and examinations are also a mess -- with only 8 weeks per term (3 terms per year), there is little time for in-depth coverage of course material, and topics frequently lack sufficient explanations. Exams are (almost) the only thing that determines the grades, but the quality of the exam questions are entirely based on the whim of the examiner, who might entertain themselves with testing niche or trivial things glossed over in the lectures.
Amazing university with amazing opportunities and staff
It is a great university to attend and provides many amazing opportunities.
Had a great time studying here!
College libraries are mostly open 24/7, uni libraries are not. There is no place like Oxford
I really like this university, not what I expected when I came here to study.
its a tough place to be when you're struggling with your mental health
Good university! Nonetheless, it could give more support to students, studying wise.
Overrated, especially in terms of teaching. Professors are too focused on their research to bother much with you. Great city though.
overall been as good as it can be despite covid. looking forward to being able to experience more of the uni when things open fully
Good university - did their best during the COVID19 Pandemic.
Very good university even if it's a very small campus (in Oxford)
I live in an ensuite at Slade Park and its fascinating!
Oxford University have amazing outreach programmes to extend their reach to many students. Would highly recommend to get a feel of the University.
Abolutely appalling place where bullying, victimization, harassment and croynism are the rule. The only thing you get out of Oxford is a degree. This place is run by cliques of lecturers who have all known each other for more than twenty years, and all cover for each other. Misogyny is pretty normal too. If you dare raise a concern, everything will be done to cover it up and silence you. Retaliation awaits you if dare say something and many lecturers are fundamentally contemptuous of students who, after all, are only cash-cows. At Oxford, internal regulation and the rule of all serve purely decorative purposes and don't be fooled by all the PR: they don't care about women, or students in general. At Oxford, only two things matter: a) extracting your fees b) maintaing their reputation.
Don't go to Oxford -- you are paying into a corrupt mafia
A racist University! God have mercy!!!!!!!
challenging university, really pushes you to think in different ways.
Oxford should feel ashamed how they have started a hate crime syndicate on their campus
Excellent in all aspects; a lot more to offer than just the academic side it is known for, many clubs and societies, as well as a diverse and welcoming student body
It looks great! And also handy to have the name on your CV.
Simply the best. Better than all the rest.
Having been to both Oxford and Cambridge, I can say for sure Oxford is better
Its great to be taught by such clever people
The university is college based, but the university offers good societies and careers advice. However the campus you live on is your college and there have been many problems I have experienced here.
Why!! Because this university will endorse stoning if you gay in bruni... if your gay don’t go here
I’ve not once seen the students union being cleaned, but that’s showbiz baby
The best university in the world, especially for those who appreciate tradition (open to all), beauty and want to work!
A brilliant university with fantastic resources and teaching staff so are second to none... could do with updating their WiFi though!
Ok i guess, love the careers office
Beautiful city, with so many opportunities for social clubs and societies.
It's very good at what it does, shame the student's union is so dire.
What to say?! It's Oxford and more than exceeds expectations!
Beautiful university, magical atmosphere, excellent education alongside very diverse peers. You get to form a great connection with all the tutors to help with your personal progress and learning! Not to mention the quads and dining halls that are all worthy as tourist attractions...
Wifi covers a lot of ground but can be on and off. So many careers opportunities, I get emails every day with prospective jobs and phone calls from companies trying to recruit me!
Wifi blankets most of Oxford but does like to go on and off at inopportune moments! Beautiful city, everything is within a 20 minute walk of my accommodation in the centre of Oxford.
Oxford University is the most amazing place to be. You meet extraordinary people at every step, both students and tutors, who absolutely change your perspective.
I'd never go anywhere else, otherwise i'd be bored- there's so much on, the work is amazing, the people are awesome and i'm never bored!
