The university is having good faculties and the infrastructure is very good. I have preferred this university over others because it has very good placement opportunities. All the teachers here are very much supportive, interactive and highly qualified.

Studying at the University of Sunderland has been a blast! The library quickly became my go-to spot, with its cozy corners for quiet study and awesome group spaces when I needed to brainstorm with friends. After long study sessions, I love hitting the gym or grabbing a coffee in one of the campus cafés to recharge. The facilities here really make it easy to balance work and fun, it’s like everything you need is right at your fingertips!

Sunderland University is great university, Tutors are amazing and very helpful, pushing you to do better and want the best for you. Studio space is very small for the number of students but have a wide vartiety of factilicies to use. There so much support but sometimes there is not enough time in the day to access it all which is a shame. I love going to university here and i would definlety recommend it to others. It based close to amenties and has good transport link. Parking prices are way too expenisve so bus, metro and train stations are close and cheap to use.
I don’t participate in a lot of extra curriculum but I’ve been seeing a lot of adverts and I see the events happening while passing. Looks fun

The uni is brilliant always offering activities and events to educate yourself and meet knew people. My teachers are very helpful If I ever have any questions.
The campus itself is nice and modern, there are great transport links and a free bus available from certain areas. Everything is relitivly close together. However with the growth if the medical school, it is quite umsettling as an art student as we also need space to work. I do feel slihhtly cramped in the studios. There are some cases where students who joined late have been put in a space that isnt functional as a studio space really. We barely all fit into our two rooms and its the start of the year so we will onky gain more work and get less and less space.

Wifi is often slow and sometimes the staffs would come into the flat and knock on the door without any warning.
I love how diverse the community is. I like the education system, the labs and the library are all amazing.
Studying at the University of Sunderland was an absolute blast! You got to do it all alongside an incredible community of diverse and friendly students who made every day feel like a party. But the fun didn't stop there! The Sunderland Futures career service was an absolute game-changer. They hooked me up with workshops, guidance, and even placement opportunities that gave me the skills and confidence to conquer the world (or at least the job market). And let's not forget about the state-of-the-art facilities, which were seriously impressive. From top-notch libraries and labs to epic sports centres and studios, the campus had everything I needed to succeed.
My journey at the university of Sunderland has been a success in many ways, I achieved a lot on my bucket lists thanks to the university and the Student Union as well 😊

Amazing staff and great facilities
As a pharmacy student, I have had the best experiences in the past years academically in terms of the content and support provided by the pharmacy professors. Not only this, I’ve also had the opportunity to meet students from different programs through clubs and societies. As an international pharmacy student, we get amazing placement opportunities in the summer to help us improve our learning and work with the healthcare team to help patients.

Everything is great i feel really safe and in good study environment. There’s also many opportunities.
The University of Sunderland Student Union had been very wonderful, amazing and engaging. The most interesting this is their eagerness to implement activities that will make students incredibly happy. They are busy all-round the term with activities ranging from trips, leadership trainings, elections, volunteering activities, fund raising, and mentorship programmes. They give students the platform to express their talents through bringing on board their ideas through various societies. They give students the necessary support to start and run societies on campus. The SU staff members are very smart and initiative-taking. This is expected as the SU CEO is always a step ahead in terms of giving excellent service and representation.
My experience in the university of sunderland is a great one, studying abroad and away from home for the first time made me live new experiences and new things.
Sunderland uni is a great place to study and enjoy student life outside academics. The facilities are modern and up to date, makes studying here easy and hitch free. The university has a vibrant students union with great societies, there's something for everyone. The career services is also one of the units that provides enormous support to students, helps one navigate from student life to work life smoothly. The campus is in a serene town where cost of living is very affordable and it's also a good place to raise a family for mature students.
I love the University and the will be sad to leave
I used to worry about studying at Sunderland since I came into the university through clearing but all in all - I'm very glad that I made the decision to come in here; the community of students is so nice and the size of the student population is enough to say hi to almost every student on campus!

The campus is lovely and it has enormous facilities such cafe, gym, spacious city space for all extra curricular activities, WiFi wherever you go . The library services and the class room innovations are really worth mentioning and every student can benefit a lot from it. The student union and its activities are quite good. There is a place for everyone at this university. Another great thing about this university is it’s location, it’s filled with rivers, sea gulls, beaches. This gives student a more relaxed and comfy approach towards university rather than a city environment like other universities. Peoples who are writers, readers and those who wants to focus on academics can greatly benefit from this atmosphere. At last I’m happy that I chose this university.
I'm studying nursing and the course has passionate lecturers and 1st class facilities to learn from and the PCI experience is very beneficial.

The scenery view of the University of Sunderland is spectacular. The University has well structured classrooms and adequate technology use for teachers, student activities center called “The City Space”, Fitness center, efficient onsite & online library, seat outs for studying and relaxation, basketball court, Cafes, restaurant and lots more. The Student Union are always helpful and provide lots of student activities at least three times a week and creates recreational getaway for students to visit few cities on non-academic periods. The school has created lots of wellbeing package and activities for students. Taking the mental health of student seriously. We have lots of Societies Club, educational clubs, Social clubs, voluntary club and lots more , so everyone definitely has a place. The internet services at Sunderland is fast and accessible. The University of Sunderland is definitely a place to have an outstanding academic performance as well as having a balanced social life.
Good and more room to improve student support
I moved across the country for uni - it's been nerve-wracking but everything about the uni - campuses, area, people, etc. - have made it such a positive experience! It really feels like a home away from home, the best decision I've ever made!!
Overall as a University, the University of Sunderland is decent. Me and some other students have had problems but they come down to poor communication between some of the departments within the University. Overall it's a good experience as classes and modules are good.
I enjoy my time at uni, there’s a lot of options for things to do, good variety and good assistance from lecturers. Wifi is slow on both campuses and even computers connected directly to the wifi provided by uni can experience buffering and issues
University has lots of activities organized to keep you busy and occupied and at the same time helps you to de-stress from everyday work.
Accommodation provided by the uni is often unreliable, however issues are often sorted in an appropriate time. Had multiple problems with the wifi not working, once was without wifi in accommodation for almost a week. Lots of support from well-being team. SU organises lots of events, with something for everyone, and lots of affordable trips around the country!
Our university is good for academics and impeccable facilities but placements is the area of concern. The library we have is one of the best with all books, articles & digital content available. It has societies, unions and clubs. Student Union is the best in north east, they conduct regular events and plans trips for the students for reasonable prices.
Great city, has transport links, beautiful coast line and friendly people. Uni accommodation is excellent value, lots of investment currently in the uni and the whole city.
I am blessed to be part of such an amazing institution where i can feel like a home. I was welcomed by my teachers and they are very supportive to me. Our University is on top for its Diversity and Inclusion which makes life more easier for international students!

Lovely, friendly place to study. St. Peters is right on the waterfront and not far from town. Very happy with my decision to study here.
I have been at the univeristy since 2019, so i saw my corse before, during and after covid. I would be lying if i said they did amazing but it was better what i saw other ubis doing for the most part. Facilities are great and staff can be hit or miss. I am a non binary student and found tgat while there were some imclusive toilets, it was almost always tge disabled loo and some staff i was taught by regualarly refered to me conistantly with incorrect pronouns or in one case by the name i dont use. This contunied even after several attempts to correct and while some staff try other seeminly dont care. Its a great uni i would recomend but anyone who is Trans reading this, make sure you talk to someone in wellbing if this also happens to you, i wish i had sooner and may have caused less upset for me over the past 4 years!
Staff in my department make you feel welcome and supported all the time. Freshers is a must at the start of the academic year!!

Campus is open usually from morning till late so you can use their many facilities when you need. Good facilities for the creative courses, including touch screen computers which are great for designing.

The university does nothing about discrimination including threats, even faced it from staff. Wifi never works, an antisocial university in a bad area. Student support is great but wouldn’t need it if the university wasn’t so awful.
The university of Sunderland is average. There is nothing amazing about it. The social spaces and study spaces are decent but the libraries are full of outdated resources, the gym is tiny (and expensive) and it doesn’t have a welcoming atmosphere to it.

Hardly on campus due to covid and now being hybrid learning with most of my lectures being online. When I have been to the campus it has been a good place to work and has many facilities available.
the tutors are helpful and try to look after you as much as possible. great facilities for socialising. affordable gym in city space. both campuses have great views.

only been here 3 weeks so i have little to say but i really like it. the teaching staff are incredible. the uni got cyber attacked but their IT systems, online timetables and canvas was already horrible to use. the food is nice. good coffee. there is also plenty of support provided from staff. i am on the social sciences ify programme and i’m enjoying the course so much! a really underrated uni!
I haven’t been approached with many social opportunities as of yet. The staff are helpful and understanding, as well as inspiring in that most of them are workers in the practical field as well as teachers. Meaning they give specific and helpful advice.
Everything in the univesity is outstanding
Haven't been into the university yet due to lockdown but went there once to get a card but literally no one is available, despite I was told to be there to collect the card

University itself is great. Staff are usually quite helpful. Primary Education cohort could do with being split in 2 so there's more focused time but overall would recommend amd would go back for a masters

I can't give a very good review due to covid again, I haven't been there nor participated in much this year.
It's a good university to go to with some great results, but it is lacking in its student facilties such as the students Union. I'm from a different part of the country but the university there doesn't do my course so came here, at that university there is a massive students union building with restaurants, bars, clubs a supermarket. All the students Union has at Sunderland is a couple of offices and that's it. Academics are really friendly and helpful as well as other university staff. Good accommodation choices for new students too and a wide range of societies.

I’ve lived here for nearly two years and my experience hah been good. The location is accessible and the security is second to non. No accomodation is perfect but this in comfortable.

A pretty good place with decent enough food, friendly staff and nice Wifi. I did the history course and almost all my lecturers were nice and helpful. Unfortunately, because the vice chancellor David Bell is a terrible person who has no idea what he's doing, the History course no longer exists. Still, it's a nice place. Not the best but not the worst either.
Its a complete waste of time. I completed my final year project and they have not marked it since 2017. Reasons are that they never listened to our complaints. Supervisors and staffs are very lazy to communicate and lazy to solve our problems. I have list of issues with University of Sunderland. I have screenshots of their email, whatsapp communication, word of mouth and receipts to prove how careless they are. They want money only.

I should not consider Sunderland as a city it’s more a village and people will act like villagers as well, for me it’s not a bother but if you like clubbing and going out you have to spend some more money going somewhere else like newcastle and keep In mind that the metro isn’t in your favour, the university has some free activities that are interesting but the fact that they are put in the middle of the week makes it difficult for every student to attend. To be honest I didn’t like Sunderland at all and I can’t wait to leave but the university worth’s the effort but make sure you have friends to spend some time with cause there aren’t many things you can do if you don’t like theatre or casino games. Also I find it difficult to find a job here you can work in a factory close in the city but if you like something else is better to look somewhere else cause the payment can’t be good for a student especially if you are an international student there is a procedure that takes a month
Spent £4.500 on nothing so far. Learning has stopped since enrolment. I do not recommend anyone does an IFY here. It's just a money spinner. I'm hoping that learning commences next year, or I'll be requiring a refund, or lawsuit.The pointless tasks aren't teaching me a thing. For instance....a project worth a lot of points. Design an app that will never be built, for imaginary people who will never exist!? You work that one out! Linear 'learning' models sold as cycles, and time wasting exercises.I could've been SISCO certified by now if I was in charge of spending my funding.
A good experience so far with helpful and friendly lecturers
I had a wonderful experience at Sunderland University. I recently finished my degree in Biomedical Science and the faculty and teaching were excellent. I found the lecturers were always engaged and willing to help. If they offered more postgraduate science courses I would have happily stayed on to do a masters.
University is good. Food not so much.

Sunderland is a fantastic university. I loved my time here, in the Psychology department. I only graduated last year and I intend on going back for further study. The Psychology department has the most supportive and thorough lecturers I have ever met. It was most definitely the best experience of education I have ever had. I would recommend Sunderland university to my family, my friends and anyone who cared to listen. Donna.
Great course but I’m off campus
Sunderland is a poor city but the uni is a credit.
Don't even bother applying for this uni, the facilities will screw you, every single minute they crash! Got back up? don't worry because their Macs/PC will do everything it can to destroy your backups too. I have failed my submissions because of the facilities and sent them an email about the problems. After paying your tuition fee they just won't give a damn about you. Extremely disappointed with this university and I REGRET COMING HERE

The course I attended needed improvements in my opinion. I personally think Sunderland is a nice city. Some of the services offered by the university can be a little expensive considering it is supposedly one of the cheapest parts of the country.
save up, go across the tyne and study at norhumbria or newcastle. there is no money at the uni, no atmosphere about the place especially at st peters campus, the student union building is non-existent (go check out leeds' SU building in comparison), was told that grades above 75 are scrutinized. best things? one library is 24/7, there's a greggs at city campus, city life (drinks/rent) is cheap.
WiFi can be a pain in the butt, however I really like the city. Transport is good.

I chose Sunderland because the campus and facilities are all new and lovely, as well as being rated one of the best psychology departments in the North East. There wasn't enough focus on what to do when we graduated before third year, meaning we have had to fend for ourselves a lot to find a graduate job. Despite this, the people and staff were fantastic.

Only reason the SU isn't so good is because the social venue is at St Peter's campus only and it's a bit out dated. However, the services they provide are really good from what I've heard. The rest of the university is fab apart from the login system for wifi can be a pain to connect to but once your on its fine
