What is available for the price is quite good but i do not believe that ensuites should be so expensive just for the added bathroom a d extra space. The location of the accomodation puts it close to a wide variety of shops and the university is within walking distance. Very close to the backstreets and unlit areas which causes anxiety for me. There is always someone available to speak to when issues arrise and then the issues are dealt with promptly and effectively. Social areas outiside of personal flats are always sparkling clean and tidy. The wifi is really good and issues rarely occur but do happen on occassion

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
The loudest fire doors you could ever have sooo loud and annoying especially when your bed is right next to the door

There are couple of things that are simply non convinient. 1. The automated light in the bathroom turns off after a few minutes and that makes me uncomfortable. 2. The bedroom and flat space is much less. 3. My room window doesn't open at full. 4. The main door we enter the building is kinda not good and if we want to get in via the main enter area, we have to call reception. 5. Laundry (washer and dryer) do not accept card payment and it's only coins operated and that's very non convinient as we need to go an atm every month. 6. Overall it's a very good accomodation and I really love the facilities and new - fresh furniture but it's not entirely value for money at all.
Avoid at all costs, especially International students. An overpriced scam and not uni managed, just branded with uni with a shuttle running all day. Wouldn't let me move rooms after getting harassed and cussed by another flatmate for possibly racial reasons for multiple weeks. Had to move out after 3 weeks only and find a takeover tenant while paying for the accomodation for 3 months. No clauses in contract to enforce any rules or social behaviour in a shared student accomodation. Noise and Drugs with due negligence. Just lying not to hold any responsibility. Had to call police. Just business. Pay money, get room. Simple.
Wifi can dip but only very rarely, management range between being super nice and quite abrupt and unhelpful. Social spaces are open but not always completely available especially pool table etc
I was the ground floor flat, nice spacious rooms and en-suit but WiFi was very unreliable, even contact broadband provider they didn't help
It is a very good atmosphere for the students as the live within the student community and from time to time you could bump into the student who might be doing your same course or course you might like to take later on through campus life.
lived here the past few weeks. worse than i expected but that is not down to the staff at all. i asked for a mixed flat and got stuck with all girls, i really don’t like them. the wifi is good for uni work but rarely works on my ps4. the laundry facilities are terrible, confusing washing machines, not enough machines and the dryers don’t dry anything. the staff and maintenance are all lovely and helped me with everything! i do feel like £200 to park my car is a little much. there is a social bar/usually empty building that could be used more! there is a shop that’s rarely open. the fridge/freezers are tiny and the cupboards are a bit naff. the flats do feel like a prison. there is a really good campus bus that gets you to uni, definitely don’t walk. the security is awesome! book early if you want an en suite. the only communal activities i attended were the 1am fire alarms but there are also games nights! nicest accomodation in sunderland. modern rooms but not much storage. 7/10
