Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
The working staff are extremely friendly, understanding with a great sense of responsibility.

The people and their behavior its really nice. They give you better with better expense.
Overall I have had a good experience in the accommodation! The staff is always ready to help, especially Krizia, she always answers any questions I have, and she’s also very kind and friendly!
perfect location within close proximity to shops spacious bedrooms and friendly staff
Curzon Point is a very nice and spacious place to live. The staff there are very helpful for whatever questions I asked and needed.
I love living here, is close to uni and the staff is nice and helpful.
The management is helpful and make efforts to socialize
Where do we start - this is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at. The front door has been broken for over 2 months now and they still haven’t repaired, all students have to walk through the back extraneous which is totally unsafe as it’s always open. They constantly have hot water issues with no hot water in any of the taps, and central heating issues. Recently we had no water at all for a full day and freezing water for another few. Was not able to even use basic toiletry facilities. The carpark gate is collapsing and will fall and damage someone’s car anytime. The staff never reply to emails. The place is a joke. They just take your money that’s all. The social space is just a small box room, and sometimes at night there’s no lights on outside at all meaning we have to walk in the pitch black to get out which again totally unsafe. Sometimes management have entered into students rooms unannounced and without consent, it’s a complete joke this place.
Curzon Point Hatfield is fantastic! Beautiful venue, friendly staff, and great atmosphere.
