An amazing university, I left to attend another one which was supposedly better. That was a mistake the teaching standard is excellent, the resources available are easily accessible and the support offered to students cannot be matched...
The facilities at Teesside are awesome and constantly improving. The courses, however, are of varying quality
I had a pretty awful time here. The faculty deliberately mislead us about the things we'd be allowed to create and study. Pretty appalled.
Teesside has good social aspects to it, however as an educational institute it is just awful, lectures could not care less if you pass or fail, and they’re guidance is consistently irrelevant to the assignments they ask you to complete. The students union no longer know how to throw decent events like they did five years ago, a full change of management is needed as the bar managers and events managers are stale and refuse to change from there ways that no longer work. On face value the campus looks beautiful a lot of money invested into new buildings that aren’t even weather proof, the brand new gym had its roof demolished by rain. Overall Teesside are very good at saying they are brilliant and making themselves look it but they’re are way to many underlying problems that they just prefer to cover up and pocket the students cash instead.
Great facilities, love the library and the SU events are great. Course content focused on what's useful for a career in the field. Only bad point this year is the wifis been really terrible, not sure why though!
I study Early Childhood and the staff are absolutely fantastic; they could not be more supportive and they want you to achieve to your highest potential. I feel that my course is highly organised and we are informed of any changes of rooms etc. Support from staff allows formative improvement of assignments to achieve the highest grade possible and I feel that I can approach them with any problem, through the use of personal tutors. We have regular sessions lead by library and careers staff and we are encouraged to partake in voluntary work. I love uni and enjoy completing work, which I feel is because of the positive atmosphere across campus and the fantastic staff.
Perfect student experience, World class student's union, brilliant learning facilities.
Really good campus even though they are in the middle of redesigning it. The lectures are great and the teams and societies are amazing. I am part of a uni team here and have been since I started and I can say the teams are amazing
The nicest part of Middlesbrough
Lots of money recently invested facilities and SU are amazing ^
Great university, certain expenses could be better such as printing costs and a better arts facility's such as a photography studio and photography course for undergraduates
Good university. Sports facilities are lacking
Garbage uni in an absolute s******* of a town
I would always recommend to all students to pick a university away from the big cities! By picking Teesside and living in Middlesbrough you get to know everyone and make very close friends for life! If you want the best university experience in the UK, pick Teesside and keep away from any of the big cities, you can go there after uni!
Such a great university so far. I hope it gets up in rankings, it really deserves it.
The facilities are AMAZING. The library is fantastic. It’s honestly,y favorite place to be in. It really motivates me to study hard and provides me with anything from the technology to the comfort I need as a student. I’m not a member of any society or club yet but as far as I’ve seen, there is a huge variety of things to do and join.
The uni itself is alright, the library is 24/7 and so is some of the buildings depending on what your school is. There's plenty of pc's and resources. If you don't join a club within 2 weeks you miss out for the year or you have to do tryouts and lag behind. I spent a lot of time in the union and it's very well managed, they have security on big nights and always have plenty of staff. I wish the top floor looked a bit more modern as it's quite bare. The terrace looks very nice (1st floor) and the balcony where people smoke the space could be managed better. Never used career service or understood it. Wifi was always good.
Wonderful facilities. Very modern, fantastic staff, extremely convenient spaces. Made studying an absolute pleasure.
Great facilities with everything you'll ever need, but I assume most Universities in the UK are all like that by now.
Do not come here!!!! They have effectively Banned Cycles from campus through absurd policies. When you visit you won't see any but will see lots of cars! They dont maintain property. I got electrocuted and wound up in hospital. They encourage a bad lifestyle with plenty of Fags and Chocolate all over the place. The security have an attitude problem and don't treat you like intelligent academics but more like scummy prisoners out on probation. I transfered from Newcastle and it was the biggest mistake of my life!
great course, im just writing in this box to fill out the minimum 20 character requirement
Hi there Pleased to hear you're enjoying your course :) We're always reviewing our courses and adding new content to make sure you get the best experience.
Truly incredible facilities. The library has been refurbished and it truly is an amazing place to study. The SU is a brilliant place to socialize and have fun.
Great news - really pleased our investment in facilities has worked well for you!
Graduated a couple of years ago now, looking back I still only have fond memories. Great facilities, dedicated lecturers and amazing social life.
Pleased to hear you had such a great experience! Make sure you make the most of alumni benefits :)
The campus and facilities are all pretty much top notch and the student's union is excellent as well (one of the top in the country I believe). Campus wide wifi is excellent and easy to connect to with just your university username and password. Huge choice in courses to choose from whatever you wish to do, many of which are accredited by a chartered society in the respective field. Lots of clubs and societies to join whatever your interests from sports to gaming and more.
Thank you for the great review! We're really pleased you made the most of our campus and new facilities. We've invested £270m in our campus in recent years with a further phase of investment scheduled over the next decade - all to make sure you have a great experience. Excellent to hear you've enjoyed the Students' Union and the huge number of societies too - like you say, there really are so many to choose from. We can't decide which we like best - battle re-enactment or trampolining! :)
The social side of Teesside uni is brilliant, their resources have allowed me to find my best friend for life. However some courses are a bit lacking, but when it comes to the technology side of the uni, those courses have been great I've been told.
Thank you for your review! Really pleased our resources and facilities have worked well for you. We've invested a lot in this area so it's good to hear it's been a good experience for you. And great to hear you've enjoyed the social side of things. It's a shame to hear that some courses seem lacking - if you want to give any more feedback please get in touch and we'll use the information to help improve things. We've actually just completed a course review and have added some new courses to suit demand and market - hopefully our courses will go down well with you all. Thanks again for taking the time to write. :)
Absolutely amazing university.
Hi there Thanks for the great review! We're always reviewing our courses and adding new content to make sure our students get the best experience. Glad to hear it worked well for you.
The campus has just recently been refurbished with parts built into the campus, and it looks great! The Student Union is an exciting place to hang out with events on most of the year, friendly helpful staff are always around to ensure you always get pointed in the correct direction! The wifi around uni is efficient and quick. There are a range of societies and clubs to join, something for everyone with a few new additions this year.
Thanks for the great review, that's all good news - really pleased our investment in facilities has worked well for you! We love our Students' Union too :)
Teesside is a great university! I have made good friends and I really enjoyed my course.
Great opportunities in the health professions, with a fantastic scope of placements. The su is brilliant and recently done up, I would recommend to anyone who would want a good career in the NHS and also opportunity to socialise and meet new people.
Thanks for the great review. We love our health courses too. Brilliant to hear that our campus investment has worked well for you.
Excellent university, great facility's and amazing staff.
Spent the best three years of my life here!❤️
So glad to hear this! We've made lots of changes to our campus recently - have a look here and see if much has changed since you were here. What course did you do? The University has just introduced lots of new undergraduate programmes, including BSc (Hons) Animal Science and Welfare, BSc (Hons) Financial Mathematics, BA (Hons) Business and Cybersecurity and BA (Hons) Creative Writing. Glad you had such a good time at Teesside. Thanks for your review.
Friendly city Helpful tutors and Lecturers World class facilities Diverse culture and nationalities small city to go around and make friends
Thanks for your great review. So pleased to hear you enjoyed your time at Teesside. We're definitely a diverse university with lots of different nationalities as you've mentioned. Some of our international students have done some vlogs on their student life at Teesside. Have a look here if you're interested!
Teesside university is, to me, what cheese is to Wallace.
Fantastic uni as I facilities for each course are top of the range. The course leaders are also brilliant.
After being at Teesside for 1 year I am loving every moment, and even though it wasn't my first choice I am so glad and grateful that I selected it as my 2nd choice. The university is small in its self and everything is in the same place so you know where your going, also there are always quiet places to study individually and for group work. Talking about work the staff are brilliant and some show a real passion for what they are teaching you which encourages you to try harder.
Great university, great facilities Everyone is very helpful and so accommodating
great university with unreal sports clubs and a newly renevated student union with unreal drinks deals!
Brilliant uni but internet is absolutely dreadful...not many job opportunities but the uni really try help...overall other than wifi its amazing
Good university, staff really helpful and facilities social science facilities really good (dont know about the other schools)! Care parking usually hassle free, easy to commute to if not a live in student.
the campus is going to look really great once the building work is finished
teesside university is a beautiful campus with all the facilities I need and more both academically and socially!
They are currently updating all of the campus facilities - and the su looks sexy after last summers revamp!! New buildings and new furnishings - the only problem is that the library closes at 12 through the week, and 8 on a weekend. Although the opening times are extended around exam time, sometimes I do wish it was 24 hours for the random panic revision that will occur at 3/4am. Absolutely loads of clubs/societies. Hard to pick to be honest. There is a career/job board in the su. Updated regularly and loads of stuff in there. I also get weekly emails about job opportunities from the facilty in my school.
Teesside is definitely the best university where experience is concerned, best three years EVER
So glad to hear you had such a good time at Teesside University! Do you make the most of all the alumni benefits we have on offer? We have lots of events you might be interested in, as well as the chance to reconnect with your previous classmates and let us know what you're up to now. All the best! TU.
