Everything about this uni is great, the teaching quality is above and beyond, and the facilities are amazing. the students union is nicely filled with pool tables, consoles, a cost-efficient bar and fresh pizzaria, honestly couldn't get much better! Lecturers and personal tutors are all lovely, and there's plenty of opportunity for careers advice, progression and guidance. The ASK inclusion team are great, too, and there's loads of sports clubs and societies to join!

Staff are always so patient and understanding. They have explained what we will be doing throughout the semester and how we will be assessed quite clearly. However, the wifi has generally been good for me over the first two years of my course but this year has been much more difficult maintaining an internet connection on site.
All good through out. Very well.
Hi there, thank you for your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you are enjoying your time studying at Wrexham University!
Good wifi connection, an inviting Student Union and many clubs to choose from. If theres a club that you'd like to be a part of but it doen'st exist, you can always talk to the Student Union and create your own. :)

The facilities for the allied health department are fantastic, perhaps only surpassed by the team and staff themselves. Every lecturer across the board has a genuine investment in the students, they are friendly and approachable, knowledgeable and very supportive. I cannot compliment them enough, and would recommend anyone considering a degree in the allied health professions to seriously consider Wrexham University.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you find our allied health facilities exceptional - we have invested hugely in our nursing and allied health facilities as part of our Campus 2025 strategy to ensure our students can gain practical, hands-on experience which will benefit them in their future roles. It's also great to know that our lecturers' dedication, friendliness, and support have made such a positive impact on your experience here at Wrexham University. It has become evident that many of our nursing and allied health students hold similar views to you, hence why we ranked 1st in the UK for Teaching Quality and 2nd in the UK for Student Experience in the Nursing subject area in the The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024. Thank you again for your kind words, your recommendation means a lot to us!
Overall the clubs and facilities are poor but I believe its to do with the size of the university itself.
Thanks for your feedback. While we are a smaller university, we try to offer a range of clubs and societies to cater to all our students. We also encourage students to create their own clubs based on their interests. If you have any ideas of new clubs or need support in starting a club, please reach out to our Students Union team! We’re here to help make your university experience as fulfiling as possible. In terms of our facilities, we are pleased to share that we are currently investing £80 million to enhance our local region and all of our campuses to ensure that our students have the best facilities, opportunities, and learning environment. If you want to learn more about our completed, current, or future plans as part of this strategy, you can head to our designated Campus 2025 webpage. Alternatively, you can come and speak to a member of staff who should be able to advise you on the developments that are being made.
Wrexham village is a good student accommodation as for only £121 a week, There's not much more you can ask for. Internet could definitely be better as I have has many issues waiting for things to load.

Brilliant university, easy to get to and transport available
Hi there! Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you deem our university brilliant and appreciate the convenient transport options. Having a train station right beside our main campus and a nearby bus station makes it easy for everyone to get here and explore nearby towns and cities as a student at Wrexham University.
Avoid this place like the plague. Caused me nothing but stress. Between changing my entire course from an art degree to a computing degree, to sending me threatening emails demanding 9k despite it already veing paid by student finance, to telling a friend thwir course was worth squat due to an enrollment error on their end, this place has just brought pain. The location is abysmal (the area is a ghost town of drunks and spice addicts), the teaching is hit or miss and the administration is a joke. This place does not care about your education, they want your money to improve their image, nothing more.
Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear about your negative experience at the University. We take such feedback seriously and are committed to addressing these issues. To ensure that this feedback is handled effectively and promptly, please email complaints@wrexham.ac.uk. Our team will thoroughly investigate your concerns regarding enrolment and fees. We are sorry that you weren’t satisfied with our quality of teaching. We strive to maintain a high standard of teaching, as reflected in the 2024 National Student Survey, where we ranked 1st out of Welsh Universities for teaching, assessment and feedback. However, we are always open to suggestions for improvement. Please feel free to contact us directly and share your insights. Thank you again for your feedback. We look forward to hearing from you to help rectify the issues that you faced. Rest assured, we will actively monitor and address these concerns to prevent them from recurring.
The art school is rife with bullying, nepotistic behaviour where students progress due to their popularity with staff rather than merit. There is a sickening underlying clique that is bereft of talent or creativity and ostracise those who don’t adhere to it sycophantic nature. There is no accountability, teaching is poor, staff do not accept challenge, debate or critism so there is no chance of improvement either side of the creative void. A stagnant pool of rotten fish.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We are deeply sorry to hear about your experience and take these issues very seriously. At Wrexham University, we are committed to creating a positive and supportive environment for all students, as reflected in our ranking 1st in the UK for social inclusion for the sixth consecutive year (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024). We are truly sorry that you feel this was not the case and would like to understand more about your experience. Used to be better. Things have changed. Students are now just "things" that bring in more budget for the main organisation to spend on shiny areas so that new parents will decide to bring their kid here.

If you have any specific concerns or suggestions regarding ways that we can better serve our current students, please reach out to us. Your input is essential in helping us improve and ensure that all students feel valued and supported.
Plus point- next to football ground, pubs and train station. Everything else you look for in a university is terrible. No facilities, majority of tutors are terrible narcissistic bullies, those that are are sappy woolly liberals. Cliquey culture, bullying goes unchallenged, corse modules are weak and tutor dismissive of change. Very very poor, grow your uni debt somewhere that’s worth it. £9k? 9 pence is too good

The most expensive mistake of my life. I regret my decision very much to attend this university, It is costing me a lot of money to move to another town and university. Heed my warning, Don't even consider it. it is one of the worst-ranked universities in the UK with reason.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience at our university has led to such regret and financial strain. We understand how important it is to feel satisfied with your choice of university, and it's disheartening to learn that we did not meet your expectations. Like the reviews above I have also just started an online masters in Computer Sciences. The platform is the most confusing VLE I've come across with multiple tabs and redirects. The actual 'material' is read these chapters in a book and watch these videos which are old and dated, then write a comment to other students. After also reading in detail about the modules (information which was not available prior to starting my studies) the whole course seems outdated. I have no idea how you can learn a computer science based degree by reading a textbook! I will be demanding a refund and studying with an alternative university.
I have just started the same online Masters in Computer Science as the previous reviewer. I am appalled by the platform and the material. I shall be asking for a full refund and failing that I will be issuing a county court judgement as this is not the quality of the course material that I was expecting. If anybody else would like further information on my county court claim process my email is [Email address removed]
Unfortunately, I enrolled in the online Master of Computer Science at Wrexham Glyndwr University (they also call it the North Wales Management School). It was so bad that a large group of angry students formed a mob and demanded their money back, but so far none of them have gotten their money back - I got the feeling the university has too many money problems and can't afford to give a refund to all the angry students so they just ignore everyone's emails. There are no teachers - the students just pay £500 per class to watch old videos that the university recorded and then hand in a few assignments that aren't actually even marked (the university gave the entire class the same mark, no matter how good or bad their assignment was). There literally was no teacher present. The university will be shut down and lose its university status because in the UK it is illegal to do this. People always said WGU is bad, but I don't mind bad so much, I just won't tolerate illegal behaviour.
Tutors are great on my course very supportive and have so much background experience. Wish there were more sports and activites going on as not much set up currently. Food on campus is great and reasonably priced. Brand new study areas popping up across the campus too which are modern and a great place to work or socialize.
Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you appreciated the support from our experienced tutors and enjoyed the affordable food options and new social and study areas on campus. I'm sorry to hear that you had difficulty finding a sports team or society at the time. We encourage students to explore various options and also offer them the opportunity to set up new clubs and societies if they are unable to find something that matches their interests, or have a new idea. Since your feedback in 2019, we have made significant upgrades to our Students' Union and now host a wide range of activities for students to get involved with. This improvement contributed to us ranking joint 1st out of Welsh Universities for Students' Union in the National Student Survey, 2024. Thank you again for your feedback - it's important to us! If you have any more suggestions or feedback, we'd love to hear from you!
It has been absolutely the worst experience I could have as a student. We had a lecturer that he read word by word what was written in the book, without actually having any Additional knowledge on the topics. The area is the worst possible environment for a student. Wrexham is a town where you'll only have a good time if you're into drugs, as there are no places to hangout whatsoever, and the university has no happenings going on. Just don't go. Don't. On the plus side they have an amazing careers office. Very understanding and very helpful. Other than that, don't go!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your time with us didn't meet your expectations. Your comments about your tutor are particularly concerning to us. At Wrexham University, we pride ourselves on having professional, experienced, and knowledgeable tutors. This is reflected in our recent rankings, including 1st in Wales for Lecturers and Teaching Quality (WhatUni Student Choice Awards, 2024) and 1st in Wales for Teaching, Assessment and Feedback (National Student Survey, 2024). Nationally, we're also ranked within the top 10 in the UK for Teaching Quality (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024). We believe this experience is not reflective of our standards, and we would like to investigate this further. Please contact us by emailing complaints@wrexham.ac.uk with your course details so that we can look into this further. We acknowledge that your review dates back to 2019 and may not reflect the recent develpoments, including Wrexham gaining city status. There's a lot for students to get involved with in Wrexham - on and off campus. Whether you enjoy scenic walks and exploring historical sites, going shopping and trying out local cafés and restaurants, or attending entertainment venues and having a night-out, there really is something for everyone. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to continously improving our students' experience. If you'd likek to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to contact us directly.
CANNOT THINK OF ENOUGH NEGATIVE WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY EXPERIENCES AT GLYNDWR.....JUST ABOUT THE WORST UNI THERE IS...AWFUL TUTORS AND TOTAL LACK OF SUPPORT.....LOOK AFTER THEIR OWN STAFF AND HARMFUL TO STUDENTS' LIVES AND CAREEERS...DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BEING A STUDENT THERE...
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear that your time at Wrexham University, formerly Wrexham Glyndwr University, did not meet your expectations. We strive to support our students in every way possible, so it's disappointing to hear that we may have fallen short in your case. We understand that your experience was not what you had hoped for. I also acknowledge that your review was written some time ago, so I'm pleased to inform you of our recent achievements, including being ranked 1st among Welsh universities for Teaching, Assessment and Feedback (NSS, 2024), and being in the top 10 in the UK for Teaching Quality (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024). Additionally, for the past six years, we've been recognised as 1st in the UK for Social Inclusion (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024) and are among the top 5 in the UK for Career Prospects (WhatUni, 2024). These achievements reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering a high-quality education and ensuring that our students feel supported personally, academically, and professionally. That being said, we are always looking for ways to improve, and take every piece of feedback seriously. We would like to better understand your concerns, so please feel free to reach out to us directly. We would welcome the opportunity to address any unresolved issues and provide any support you might still need. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we hope we can work together to find a positive resolution.
I’m currently studying education and childhood studies and it’s awful, the teachers are the worst people I’ve ever met. They don’t support you and are so personal when marking your work. ( if they don’t like you for any reason your going to fail.) I wish I could go somewhere else but due to personal reasons I have to stay in Wrexham. Please don’t waste your money here. It’s hell.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m truly sorry to hear that your time studying Education and Childhood Studies at our University back in 2019 was disappointing. It’s disheartening to hear that you felt unsupported and that your experience with the teaching staff was negative. While I realise it’s too late to change your experience, I want to let you know that we’ve made significant improvements since then. In fact, Wrexham University has recently been ranked 1st among Welsh universities for Teaching, Assessment, and Feedback in the National Student Survey, 2024. We’ve also been recognised as one of the top 10 universities in the UK for Teaching Quality by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024. These achievements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a supportive and high-quality education to all our students. Although your time at our University may not have met your expectations, please know that your feedback has been valuable in driving the improvements we’ve made. If there’s anything we can do to assist you now, even after your time here, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours.

Awful I’m currently studying education and childhood stupid and it’s been one of the worst experiences of my life. The only reasons I’m carrying on is because I can’t travel away and need to get my degree. If you have a choice please choose somewhere else!
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're truly sorry to hear that your time studying Education and Childhood Studies at our University did not meet your expectations. Has all the basic facilities a university should have. There are a lot of societies to choose from but I have no experience with them as spare time is hard to find on a full time course. Wifi is not very good at all.
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the Wi-Fi network did not meet your expectations during your time here. We have recently made significant updates to our Wi-Fi network to enhance connectivity and ensure a better experience for all students. We hope these improvements address the issues you encountered. We also understand that finding time to engage with societies can sometimes be challenging, especially with a full-time course. We offer a variety of societies and activities across a range of days and times, and encourage students to explore these opportunities whenever their schedule allows. Thank you again for your feedback!

Additionally, Wrexham's location on the Wales-England border offers convenient access to the nearby cities of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester to the east, the rugged beauty of Snowdonia to the west, and stunning beaches along the northern coastline. We have also significantly expanded our range of subjects to better meet the needs and interests of our students, with a strong focus on career prospects to ensure our graduates are well-prepared for their future careers. This commitment is reflected in our ranking within the top 5 in the UK for Career Prospects (Whatuni, 2024). Thank you again for your support and feedback!
