The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has three main campuses in South West Wales - Swansea, Carmarthen and Lampeter - plus campuses in London and Birmingham and learning centres in Cardiff. Swansea
Students studying at UWTSD Swansea are at the heart of a seaside city that is big enough to offer space to grow and small enough to make you feel at home.
The university’s locations include some of the city’s most beautiful historic buildings and newest, most innovative ones. All offer easy access to shopping, entertainment, culture and nightlife, as well as opportunities for sport.
The vibrant village of Mumbles, with its bars and restaurants, pier and castle, and the glorious Gower peninsula, are both just a few miles up the road.
City-centre campuses
UWTSD has a reputation for delivering innovative, industry-led and career-driven programmes at its three distinct city-centre campuses - SA1 Waterfront, Swansea College of Art and Swansea Business Campus.
SA1 Swansea Waterfront
UWTSD's new £350m development, in the city’s maritime quarter, is on the Wales Coastal Path, next to the marina and a five-mile stretch of sandy beach. The main building, the IQ, is where students develop fresh ideas and innovations with STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics) subjects, accessing specialist equipment for their studies and projects. The IQ is also home to UWTSD’s education and teacher education programmes in Swansea. The excellent new library, Y Fforwm, with its extensive views of the city and sea, is just a few steps away from the IQ.
Swansea College Of Art
UWTSD’s Dynevor and Alexandra Road campus buildings, at the heart of the city’s art quarter near the internationally renowned Glynn Vivan art gallery, are home to the Swansea College of Art. Students study a wide variety of award-winning art and design courses here, enjoying the space and access to superb equipment. The annual degree show is a popular cultural event that allows students to display their talent and creativity across the city and beyond.
Swansea Business Campus
UWTSD’s Swansea Business Campus (SBC), conveniently located near the train station, offers students the chance to experience innovative, student-led approaches to learning. Carmarthen
Students enjoy an immersive campus experience at UWTSD Carmarthen. It is a lively, friendly environment boasting a range of facilities, including a library, fully equipped theatre and workshops, music, media and IT suites, swimming pool, gym, sports hall and modern teaching spaces. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy sport, exercise and the natural surroundings. Cynefin, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, is just a 20-minute walk away. The Wales Coast Path runs through this magnificent green site that includes a mountain bike skills area, pump track, bushcraft area, campsite and Forest School. There is also direct access for the River Towy. It is home to a huge wildlife area and, with support from the Woodland Trust, nearly 1,000 trees have been planted on the site.
The only Welsh language television channel in the world, S4C, has moved its headquarters to the campus. The public service broadcaster’s new home, the award-winning Canolfan S4C Yr Egin, is a creative industries hub for the region that brings potential for work experience and job opportunities as well as a programme of events.
Carmarthen town centre’s shops, entertainment and nightlife are just a short walk away from campus. Carmarthen is just half an hour from the Brecon Beacons and the beautiful sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire where students can get active with some of the best sea kayaking, coasteering, mountain biking and rock climbing in the world. Lovely place to live, staff are very helpful
Studies at the Swansea location (one for the smaller campuses) possibly could have had more staff. The lectures are hit or miss - some a really amazing, some are abominable so good luck teaching yourself those modules. Their waterfront IQ building is quite new and fancy with decent engineering facilities and they are working on another building next to it. Swansea societies were lacking due to a smaller campus and lack of students willing to lead them. The SU are quite helpful and very friendly and Organise a fair amount of events. I recommend checking the SU site and signing up to freshers events such as pub quizzes, lazer quest, "give it a go" discounted sports sessions, etc.

SEREN regularly organizes events, and takes care of each one. I feel very comfortable here, and SEREN is definitely a good choice.
The campus is beautiful there isn’t many events on for everyone in the student union. It hasn’t been very inclusive. It started off amazing three years ago but this year has been the worst!
Attending UWTSD one of the best decisions i ever made.
Lecturers are always helpful and easy to contact if I had any issues or queries. The university has offered many opportunities for trips and experiences outside the university to develop on knowledge for our particular course.

I study at the SA1 campus, and it is very convenient with the library and everything. The cafe has good food and all the facilities are good.
My experience at University of Wales Trinity Saint David has been great. I have studied at the Lampeter Campus for 3 years and currently study at the Swansea Campus. I have really enjoyed my time at this university as it embraces its university students' diversity, inclusion, knowledge and all the while, there is tremendous support. The lecturers at the Lampeter Campus is especially phenomenonal. The University has a caring and respectful aspect to it, which has helped me and others gain confidence and knowledge.

The lecturers are great but honestly if you gonna do a PGCE, choose elsewhere. Everything is told to us last minute or different information is given by different people. Made a stressful years more stressful.

UWTSD Lampeter: This charming university has picturesque surroundings. I was attracted by the tranquility of the mountains and countryside- a good place if you want peace and focus. There are a few societies and pubs nearby but it is not a 'party scene'. The classes are small which is great for participation, group work and contact time. The lecturers are very involved through the work of each student. I received excellent support throughout writing my dissertation and made good use of the well-stocked library. The university has strong links with China and a magnificent Chinese library. It is also has a high intake of mature students, international students and takes student wellbeing seriously. Overall, this UWTSD is a decent university, especially if you like quiet, prefer small group seminars to massive lectures with rooms full of people and want close guidance and support.
The accommodation and people are all amazing, however sometimes understaffed
such a supportive university, assisting with educational and personal life!

The University is brilliant at acknowledging and understanding students in the class as well as knowing their needs to ensure they get the best possible outcome. However, when it comes to issues of assault there needs to be an improvement of handling the situation and not just neglecting it
Absolutely loved my foundation degree course over the last 2 years. Will be doing my BA in September and am looking forward to it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at UWTSD. But, without a proper SU in Cardiff, I feel I haven’t had the uni experience I expected.
Training has been difficult die to covid but staff are kind, helpful & understanding. The campus is good, but we are currently lacking some facilities.
There were no clubs or societies for what I know of, not easy to find another words. The computers kept crashing meaning we could not complete a lot of our lessons and had to catch up in our own time. Have no idea where the students union was or the careers adviser.
I completed a BSc Web Development degree and graduated with a 2:1 in July 2019. I would strongly advise people to stay away from this course, as I have struggled to get a job relating to Web or Software. If you think that you will be able to go into a job straight from University, you won't. I had to take a part time placement in a Charity and they eventually allowed me to update their website. P.S- This job is MINIMUM WAGE. Very, very disappointed with the amount companies do not care about this degree and would rather train up their staff and I quote "straight from school". I would only consider this degree if they offered you a year in industry, which is what they did to my year, but when it came to our time they found "nothing for us" and we had to "look yourselves through the summer". Disappointed.
Wonderful place to study. Great tutors, great facilities, the print room had me staring in awe the first time I saw it cause it's so BIG. Internet's a bit problematic and doesn't like letting you sign in but usually it works. Library's amazing, the cafe's amazing. Parking is super close, and it's also really close to McDonalds, which is obviously every student's priority.
They dont mind if you turn up drunk so thats good
I am currently doing a degree in Psychology and counselling, it includes a variety of topics within the subject. the tutors are supportive and the technology is reliable.

Give that the uni is spaced out I can only really talk about the art section. The Alex building is lovely. I can't believe they are considering getting rid of the library
The cafeteria is never open for us on Saturdays, or when it is only provides a small amount of food for all students there, leaving us sometimes with nothing to buy for lunch. Other than that, the university is good.

Specifically Swansea college of art section of UWTSD is terrible. Does not deliver as stated in any descriptors. The buildings look great and that is where it stops, they run a skeleton crew to make up for the building costs and the building is poor for lectures with rooms shared between all courses and personal study time.
UWTSD (Lampeter) is in dire straits. Now, my teaching was great and I really value what they showed me in life. Sadly the faculty is dreadful, complaints were not heard, the buildings are falling apart, the "club" on campus is a joke. Due to it's small size the place is a rumour mill. It's so bad that people leave and have even committed suicide due to rumours spread (mainly by people holding some type of strange grudge). Honestly, go if you didn't like school and didn't have many friends at home. If you did however have a life before choosing rural Wales be warned, the nerds have grouped there and will gun for anybody with an once of confidence.
If you want value for money, and to feel that you are valued as a student, then avoid this university. Severe cost-cutting and penny-pinching means that facilities for students are rather poor. Accommodation is tiny and poorly maintained, SU facilities are dire, and library and IT facilities are poorly equipped.
UWTSD gave me both work experience from two placements, one in the UK for a Software Company and one in the USA for a 14 month Management Internship; alongside getting a degree. You can't ask for more than that.
Best three years of my life. I would highly reccomend this University.
I spent some of my happiest years studying English at UWTSD Lampeter. The stunning Old Building brings a touch of Oxbridge to the beautiful Welsh countryside. The size of the Uni means you get to know all the lecturers really well and you make friendships for life. UWTSD Lampeter taught me how to think independently and enabled me to succeed in a way I don't think would have been possible in a large impersonal university. I will always be grateful for the experience.
I really enjoyed my time as a student at UWTSD Swansea. As a student for a second time I think I was able to appreciate even more the effort that goes in to support students from all walks of life. My course had great tutors who were easy to approach inside and outside of lectures and the small class size meant that we got a lot of individual support. There were also great links with industry that was great for helping us gain 'real world' experiences.
