All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

MyPad Paisley, Is Located AT The One Of The Best Place. One Can Daily Explore A Lot Many Options Here.
Thank you for your review. It's true, MyPad is located opposite Pailey Train Station allowing you to easily get to Glasgow in 10 minutes or around Scotland easily.
There is poor communication from staff, a kind of subtle discrimination against international students. Some of the staff are unsympathetic to what students are going through they only are about rent Date.
I moved out of My Pad Paisley one month ago and I still haven't received my deposit back. My contract was taken over by another student, who was also charged for the same room. There is no clarity on when am I gpoing to receive my money back! I spoke with Citizen Advice Bureau, as I don't know what else I can do.

Arrogant staff who have no sense of attention and are lazy at work. I paid my deposit first of £150 from India and paid my first rent payment on the day of arrival and next working day. ASKED them if there's any procedures to do when I'm leaving a month early, she said NO. No information at all about anything until when I m packing she says there's a maintanence charge so I'll get back only £100. After multiple emails after shifting they came up saying, "There's £400 still left to pay for the last month" and also says, "The £150 u paid was booking not deposit, so we don't owe you anything" I'm like wth? She ends up saying, "You didn't pay doesn't mean you don't owe us £400". The worst attitude of someone working as a STAFF. I'll post a review everywhere I can. Worst ACCOMODATION.
All social areas were constantly shut including the study room which I was paying extra for. There was cockroach infestation while people lived there and they would shut the kitchen for a couple hours at a time so therefore wasn’t able to eat for a couple hours. Had my washing basket stolen and my laundry pods which I reported and was told that they knew who it was cause of ctv but couldn’t do anything.Had items of my washing stolen out of the washing machine; my belt and my blazer and despite cctv no further action was taken. The bedroom door had a gap at the bottom so any conversation you had in your room could be heard outside in the hall. The circuit laundry machine wasn’t working, I was lied to and told that “on Tuesdays they do a online maintenance fix” the next day however it still wasn’t working but when I phoned the circuit company to chase it up they said the manager at the time had lied to me and that they were broken and should have been reported.
Do not consider living in mypad! The place has nothing to offer. The heater was broken for 1 month and when we went to the reception the “manager” told us that it is not her responsibility because she told the company to come and fix the boilers. We were cold and we were paying for “all the bills included” but actually they had no bills. The first floor is abandoned and very dirty, there are people’s clothes and stuff there for over a year everything is disgusting. The refuse chutes are full and students complain. Let’s not talk about the cleaning! The maids did not come for 2 weeks and sharing with 10 people is not that easy without maids. Anyway this place is unacceptable and i prefer paying 100 pounds more and staying in a better environment!
I have been a resident in this property for over a year and found it absolutely worth it to be staying here. I'll gladly recommend this student accommodation.
Shameful management, noisy resident, kitchen cleaning is not done even if you pay the price for; neighbors smoke drugs, the manager is aware of it but we have to call the police ourselves and not sanction ist taken, repetitive fire alarm at any hours of the day or the night. The manager is not often available: she arrives later and leave earlier than her normal schedule. The WiFi is poor while the students have to follow courses remotely. My shower is broken since the beginning of the year but the manager did not seem to do something to change it except offer to change the room... Something that I refused as the room she offered me had a worse view... As a reminder, I paid for an en-suite room club, so highest room price, that's not for having a view on the roofs of the commercial center and the car park...
