Although you can find other student accommodations for a similar price, this is the only one that is worth every penny! The hospitality at Keele House is unmatched and you are made to feel like more than just a number. Claire and Susan make the most effort in trying to ensure that there are networking events and that the building is decorated for every event. I highly recommend!!!

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

I love living here at Keele house, it has so many facilities and the rooms are a great value for money
I really like the student accommodation! It is cleaned and well manage by the receptionists, who are amazing!! I experienced some issues in paying my rent at the begging as I did not receive my sfe maintenance on time and they were really understanding. I would definitely recommend it to a friend !!
thank you for the lovely review, we are always here to help where we can and within our power, all anyone has to do is come and talk to us and we will try to help, sometimes its not always possible but we try, our aim is to make your stay has stress free as possible, especially has many are away from thier families for the first time. Sue and team
It has its ups and downs. We’ve had problems with people coming into our accommodation randomly and people apparently pissing on things. But the receptionists try to fix it. The accommodation doesn’t always accommodate as they don’t try to improve anything that is necessary, and only care about how the accommodation looks to other people. The dryers and washing machines break most of the time and the accommodation haven’t done anything other than add “plants” everywhere.
Thank you for the review, the random people who came into the property were friends of a student and has we tell all students if you bring friends into the property they then become your responisbility, we are always trying to improve things, the common room to become a more welcoming space for students to use, which it is now being used more than ever before, the plants you mention are 2 plants on 2 floors which we got after painting all the lift lobbys from the clinical look to a warmer look all for the benifit of the students not the team, The washing machines and dryers are owned by a third party company, they are serviced twice a year and emptied every month, if a machine is not working it is generally because foreign coins have been inserted by mistake, we have had a problem with a dryer where a part needed to be ordered which reduce the dryers to only 2 working for a month, as we do not own these machine there is very little we can do onlly to ensure they get emptied and serviced. We are open to any ideas to improve your experience at keele house within our power, so please feel free to come and discuss with us anytime. Sue and Team
Is a good place to live and the staff members are so helpful.
thank you for the lovely review Sue and Team
Staying in Keele House for my masters course so far has been a really good experience. The staff are lovely, and so helpful with any issus or concerns I've had. There is a gym which is rarely busy, and had a good amount of space and machines. There are shops right across the road as well. The main issue for this accomodation is parking, as it doesn't have any nearby parking if you own a car. Other than that, it is a really lovely place to live. They make a huge effort with social events and have a free coffee machine and TV for everyone to use and enjoy. Would recommend!
thank you for the lovley review, there are 2 car parks next to the building and i believe you can apply to the council and get a permit, which works out about £10 per week so cheaper that a day to day rate, we are also only a 2 minute walk to the buss station for those with out cars, but i do understand that its a shame we do not have our own on site car park. Its lovely to see the commmon room and gym being usewd by the students. Sue and Team
I really like staying here, the staff are friendly and the building is perfectly located for uni and work for me, there is easy access to many shops in a less than 5 minute walk (Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl) and uni is a short bus away. The communal areas are always clean and there is always events being hosted. I've definitely rebooked for next year!
thank you for the lovely review, we are so pleased that you enjoy living at keele House and are staying with us for another year. Sue and Team

This is my 3rd year of staying at Keele House, I have enjoyed my stay here, the property management staff are so welcoming and kind to me and I am supported with any issues or concerns. The studios I have stayed in are well spacious and is a great place to stay as a student. As a student the location was perfect for me as it was close by to the bus station where I would catch the bus to campus or the hospital for placements. The location is also close to town and supermarkets which is walking distance. Overall I would recommend Keele House as a great accommodation to stay in for university students.
thank you for the lovely review, we do try to help our students to settle in and help as uickly as possible with any issues, thank you for taking the tie to write this review
Currently living here for the second year, very nice studio, spacious, and adequate for my student experience. Also, the staff is very friendly, helpful, and kind. Common room is very nice, clean, and cosy. During the festive season and holidays, it's a pleasure to look at it, enjoy a cup of tea, and watch TV. Perfect for my student experience. Although I have rated the internet at 5*, I cannot make any comments in this regard, as I do not use it. Thank you Sue, Claire, Vev, and Mick.
that you for the lovely review, we do try to make it home for home for our students, and always willing to hlep where possible
Clare and Sue are amazing! Thank you for all you do for me. Highly recommend. 100%!

It’s a good environment and the people are so nice
thank you for the lovely review, we do try and look after all of our students
Great location. Everything you need is around you
thank you for yor review
I just would like to express the level of satisfaction that I have experienced so far at Keele House, as an alternative to university halls, which were in a very high demand at the time of the search, but no regrets whatsoever on any aspect or perspective. The building is situated perfectly, close to the town centre, has easy access to supermarkets, such as Aldi and Morrisons, located just across the street providing students the opportunity to shop in a very short time scale and saving a transport hassle. Also, the building is very well maintained, kept very tidy Its personnel has shown a very friendly attitude, including respect, attention to my questions and explaining the terms of the tenancy in a very detailed manner. Lastly, I would loke to say a massive thank you in particular to Mrs Claire who was extremely helpful, friendly and professional, but not forgetting the rest of the personnel, such as cleaner, maintenance gentleman as well as the property manager. Kind regards, E
thank you for your lovely review, we do try and help all our students settle in, and answer any questions, its lovely that studnets take the time to write reviews and apreciate what we are trying to achieve here, the team are always here to help
Love living in the middle of town and the staff are really wonderful here
thank you for the lovely review
Excellent service from accom team and all went well first year. Reception staff were really helpful
thank you for the 5 star review
The property is well kept and carefully managed, and the reception staff are always friendly and welcoming at the front desk. The building feels safe and secure and the location is very close to facilities in the centre of town, with a bus station nearby. I’ve enjoyed living here the last couple of years!
Thank you for the lovely review, its vert much appreciated that students take time to write reivew. thanks Sue and Claire
I have been living at Keele House for my second year of study. I wish I had spent my first year here too because it's been such a wonderful place to live. I am student with hidden disabilities that greatly impact my living needs. Keele House has provided me with the comfort, independence, and quality facilities that I was denied at my previous accommodation on campus. My studio feels like a home. It's bright, spacious, and secure. Any maintenance issues are dealt with fairly quickly and the maintenance worker is very friendly. The staff are really supportive and helpful, and the shared spaces are well-looked-after. I am not paying much more than I was on campus but the difference in experience and quality is like night and day. Living here has changed my life and I'm so grateful to the staff who have done an incredible job prioritising the students' safety, comfort, and happiness. I have rebooked for next year and absolutely recommend Keele House to any student.
thank you for the ovely review and we cant wait to carry on looking after you this year and next year, its so lovely to see students love living here at Keele House. thanks Sue and Claire
Generally students stay in halls for their first year at university, however after looking around I decided keele house was where I wanted to stay first year. I wanted my own space and wanted to be more independent. The common room is great for meeting new people and in the evening a great place to relax and chill with friends. Keele House is really really really close to the bus station and Newcastle town centre so you have everything on hand. The gym is well equipped with machines, however there is only one dumbbell and no bars, however if you did want use of more equipment exercise for less is the gym less than a ten minute walk away and often had student discounts. The WiFi is good and has only gone down a handful of times. I would recommend staying here no matter what year of study you are in as students from all years even post grad chose keele house.
Thank you for the lovely review, we are so pleased that you are making use of the gym and common room, we did have a few problems with the wifif when they were changing over the IP address but all sorted now. thanks Sue and Claire
This is my first year at keele house and I’ve enjoyed my experience that much that I’ve decided to rebook the same room again next year - which was such an easy process! The spacious rooms are amazing and ables you to make it feel like a second home, the social areas/ corridors etc are always well maintained and cleaned regularly. Any problems I’ve had have been resolved very quickly and easily. The location is perfect for me as it’s next to town and about a 5-10 min drive to campus! Would definitely recommend!!
Thank you so much for the lovely review, we as a property team as so pleased that you have chosen to stay with us again next year Sue & Claire
As an international student, a lot of time went into researching for the “perfect accommodation.” After searching for other student accommodations, I felt Keele House best met my living needs. The most distinguishable quality KH studios has amongst others is walking space around the studio. The studios are very spacious allowing for movement to & from other stations & not a very crowded, tight space like other on & off-campus accommodations are. I have windows that I can open to get fresh air & sunlight, a fully functional heater, a huge wardrobe, a comfortable workstation with ample number of sockets/outlets & bright LED light. The kitchen cabinets & fridge are extremely spacious. KH has a very clean gymnasium with good quality equipment to get a good workout in that is open 24/7. KH is in the center & in walking distance of everything you need! Not to mention the extremely friendly & helpful property managers who host fun game nights with food & drinks! I'm so glad I chose KH!
Thank you for your lovely review, we are really pleased that you have settled well into your accomadation and look forward to you joining us for round 2 of the quiz and i will include some interntional questons. Sue and Claire
I am currently in my 3rd year staying with Keele House, and renting the same room. The spacious room is what I can consider a home away from home. Great storage and living spaces. Great value for a studio! The location is fantastic as I am at a walking distance to shops, bus station, Newcastle High Street and Royal Stoke University Hospital. Aside from the convenience of getting all bills sorted in one payment, I am pleased with how the parcels are safely collected and stored by the office/reception. The management has been very hands on, supportive and accommodating, especially during the pandemic. This year’s management might be the most efficient team that I have stayed with in the last 3 years. Any maintenance issues were sorted in a timely manner. I would totally recommend Keele House to Keele students and graduates, as well as to Hospital workers.
thank you so much for your lovely review, we really do try to look after all of our students
I have been stayed here since I started my PhD, experienced 3 rooms in 3 years. Basically, this building is well-equipped and perfectly located, any studio has sufficient space for 1 or 2 people, and there is a free gym meets amateur needs. The price for classic studio is about £120 a week, and no other jumbled fee at all. The building managers are kind and very helpful, they try their best to improve our live quality, including solving issues instantly, arranging events thoughtfully, and paying attention to their tenants individually. I feel confident to recommend this building to international students like me, don't forget to pick up free treats from the reception everyday :)
thank you for your lovely review
I’ve just rebooked to stay at Keele House for my 3rd year as I’ve absolutely loved living here during my 1st and 2nd year. The property team are lovely, helpful, very approachable and so friendly! I love my living experience here and the rooms are just perfect. The property is in the best location- in close proximity to public transport links as well as several different shops and stores. I would highly recommend this property to any students searching for a place to live within the area.
thank you for your lovely review
I've had such a lovely experience living here. To begin with I did have some troubles with room arrangements but Susan and Claire were amazing at getting these sorted for me and making sure I really settled in! They are lovely and very welcoming, always smiling when you go past reception and offering drinks and sweets and other little things! And are always happy to have a catch up and a chat. I've already rebooked my room for next year and can happily call this my home!
thank you for your lovely review
Very pleasant place to live, just needs more storage space.
thank you for your review i will take note about the storage space
very good and close to all main areas a student needs
thank you for your review
I have enjoyed living in this accommodation for the last two years
Keele House is in a great location, the town centre is a very short walk away and there is a Morrison’s and Aldi right opposite the accommodation. Any problems are always dealt with quickly - the staff are amazing (Jordan and Amy especially) and very friendly! Would definitely recommend :)
Amazing experience in my past two years here. Staff are very friendly (in particular Jordan and Amy). The comfort level is great in my premier studio. Very spacious and amazing location as it is close to the town centre
Great experience and front desk members (Jordan and Amy) are extremely helpful. Enjoyed my stay here!
Lovely place to live, new management are great and my room is really big and spacious with a nice view. Problems get fixed quickly and overall a really great student accom :)
The staff are amazing, Jordan and Amy really look after all of our needs and concerns ❤️
Really good locations, close to a cinema and places to eat as well as supermarkets. Staff are really nice and helpful. It’s shame the social spaces are close due to Covid. My room is a good size and easy to maintain.
The accommodation is nice, has a good value for money and it close to the town centre. Also has an indoor gym. The staffs here solve issues on time.
Really good booking experience, great team who were extremely helpful through the whole process - no pressure to book & didn’t rush us. Would 100% recommend to everyone
Good Management and the flats are well sized. Wifi is really good especially for all the online classes.
The rooms are comfortable and have good space, the maintance could be quicker as it could be up to 2 weeks before they do something, the reception is extremely friendly and are excellent.
Modern accommodation, friendly staff, great student experience, Keele on campus accomodations are bad, stick to off campus
It is literally a home away from home. Property is clean, well maintained and rooms have a fantastic modern time charm. It’s only a hop, skip, and a jump away from major grocery stores, supermarkets, bus/train station, delis and parks. To me this has been very helpful because each time I want to hit the snooze button; I groggily stumble out of bed and go for a tempo run at Lyme valley park. The staff is very friendly, responsive and incredibly helpful. They go over and beyond to help make your stay enjoyable. Very good internet quality in the room and so are other amenities. It’s easy to meet someone new in the common room or the gym or gather with friends. Have had nothing but my peace of mind staying whilst staying here. I recommend this accommodation for anyone wanting to live off campus.
Great student experience living at Keele House. Also great opportunities for student jobs such as Student Warden.
Amazing accommodation, couldn’t think of a better place to live ! Lovely staff and an amazing room.
I've lived here for 3 years now, and the new management is doing a great job in trying to improve the social life and running of the building
I enjoy staying at keele house alot. the staff are lovely and always up for a chat and the rooms are really comfortable. Great independent living and only 10 mins max to campus. Can’t say a lot about the social aspect due to covid.
Comfortable living in the centre of Newcastle under Lyme. Where restaurants and other activities are nearby. Quick walk to the bus stop to get us to Uni. Friendly management always helpful. Really enjoyed my stay here for the last three years.
Keele house is a fantastic accommodation which provides a high level of comfort, ease of living and safety. The rooms are all studio apartments with a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom all-in-one, so it is great if you need privacy. The common room is perfect to socialise and study in and there is a gym for those who are looking to stay fit! I have lived in Barnes Hall, Keele University and in Keele House for two years each and I can safely say that Keele House is the best accommodation I have lived in. This is because I love my privacy and to socialise with my friends, so keele house provides a perfect balance for this. Keele house has come under new management this year and having experienced the management last year too, I believe the staff now are much friendlier, and better at their job because whenever I had issues in my room last year, I would not get a response for at least a week, however, I had an issue this year and the managers got someone to sort it out the next day.
friendly and supportive community with great staff always willing to help. Room is good for value too as i have my own personal space and utilities
