Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
everyone here are friendly and make you feel like you have been here for longer than what you have as they make it feel like you are home.

As a student I loved at pacific court in both 1st and 3rd years. The location is superb, being in the city centre in old town is so good as a student as it means that you're not trapped inside the student bubble around the uni-area. Living in the city centre as a student also makes having a part time job much more convenient. The building itself is gorgeous and characterful, and the rooms within are of a good size and quality. The current management are the best that this place has ever had, they really go out if their way to ensure that the students here are looked after and are happy. If you're a student coming to study in Hull pacific court is one of the best places to live, you'd pay double for the same room in the same location in any other city in the UK.
Landlords respond quickly to any concerns or questions. Maintenance and wardens are always contactable for any Issues. Friendly staff. Approachable office. Great onsite facilities such as a gym. Study room. Games room etc. Well thought out lay out. Very stylish and comfortable
I had a fantastic time staying at Pacific court over the course of 3 years from 2017-2020. Located a short walk away from the city center, Pacific court is a well maintained beautifully set up student accomodation that's quiet as well (except for when we've got social events going on). With the management and wardens readily available at all times you're never left feeling like you've got to sort something out by yourself. The accomodation also provides fast internet with both Ethernet and wifi options (350mps down). Overall it's been an absolute delight staying at Pacific court and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for student accomodation while at University.
I really enjoy staying there. Very good location, 5 mins away from college. Reliable management.
I have had a really good experience living at Pacific Court this year, and I am excited to continue living here next year! The office staff and wardens have been excellent and are always accomodating! All round lovely place to live.
Excellent for both students and graduates, city centre location is great. Staff are helpful and quick to sort out any problems, and the rooms and facilities are modern and good value considering the low price.
I would 100% recommend living at Pacific we are large family and have regular family nights out, the staff are friendly and very great place to live and I have fun and great definitely recommend this place to everyone. It’s affordable too.
Living at Pacific Court is a really nice experience as you meet so many people and it starts to be like a 2nd family which is good because some people don’t really get to see their parents as they live away.
Helpful and happy team with compassionate and understanding approaches to everyone’s circumstances. Modest and welcoming property appropriate for those in University and short-term accommodation needs.
Great place to live, it's really fun and exciting, best place to live in Hull and amazing staff.
Great place, great location in the city centre of Hull with everything at the door step.
Living here while studying at Hull Uni. Nice place to stay and cheap. Good location by the river. Staff are helpful when you have any questions or problems. It's nice that people care, thanks ladies.
Love living here, the new rules for closing things have only come in around Covid-19 situation which is understandable. Everyone really friendly management put on pizza and drink nights monthly for all when not in lockdown and are really approachable, can’t ask for anymore will be staying on another year for definite, already booked.
I used to absolutely love living here at Pacific court, but now I’m absolutely disgusted to find out our games room will be locked from 11pm on a night every night. We was told these facilities will be open 24/7 and now this isn’t the case. This has completely changed my opinion of this place and will be looking to move. We pay for these facilities and should be allowed them 24/7.
