About the closest experience to staying in a crumbling prison as possible except you are paying for the pleasure and have to do your own linens and cleaning. Building falling apart and leaking from the inside, main common building almost completely shut, no on site shop, genuinely tiny rooms and kitchen with one fridge freezer between 5 students and a couple cupboards each. Just about enough room in each loo to move. Staff couldn't give one about any issues you face. Maintenance can take up to a month. Genuinely 0 communication about when things will get fixed. You are lucky if you even get a knock. Oh and the whole place is infested with silver fish. One the other hand the shower is brilliant so there is one positive. Seaton Park is nice as well.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Grant court is by far the best value for money at Hillhead, with a fantastic social atmosphere and great facilities. The flat layout is good, and by the end of the year you and your flatmates are best pals.
Very lonely due to hotel layout
Grant Court is by far the best value for money in Hillhead. The quality and design of the kitchen area is what makes it stand out from the rest! Having two toilets is also a benefit, and the shower room is very spacious. Bedrooms aren't as small as they seem! They are nice and cosy and you'll be surprised at how much you can actually fit in such a small area. A few let downs are that there is only one fridge freezer to share between 5, and this can be a bit of a squeeze. It's good for socialising (if you get on well with your flatmates) as the lounge/kitchen area is spacious enough for gatherings. Easy enough to chat with neighbours but isn't the most sociable of all the halls. It'll probably be easier to get to know more people for incoming freshers now that the Central Building is open!
Really nice flat but it is quite expensive and on top of that you still have to pay for doing your laundry. But it comes with great hallmanagers who fix whatever needs to be fixed and it is close to lidl so cheap food as well :)
In a nice setting. Walls deem thin as can hear everything happening up stairs and people on the stairs too
Hillhead Student Village is perfect for socialising. Grant Court 91-114 offers 2 shared toilets per flat but still at an affordable rate so if you can't afford ensuite then this is the best bet!
